Nouveau membre du site, j'en profite pour récolter des informations sur un sujet qui me préoccupe actuellement.
Voilà, je vis en couple avec un bébé de 5 mois en France et nous avons envie de changer d'horizon, comme beaucoup de gens à ce que j'ai pu constater sur ce forum. Mais j'ai un dilemme : mon ami ayant fait des études de tourisme a envie de monter un gîte ce qui est à priori une bonne idée. Pour cela, il souhaiterait le faire en Martinique, île où nous avons passé quelques semaines en vacances et pour laquelle ils nous arrivent encore, après plus d'un an , d'y rêver mais je me demande si le secteur touristique n'est pas déjà saturé. Moi, je me demande s'il ne serait pas préférable de le faire en Afrique, le Bénin plus particulièrement car j'y suis originaire (père blanc Français et mère noire Béninoise), et où je pense le secteur touristique reste encore à développer. Evidemment, il faut prendre en compte les avantages et les inconvénients :
* Martinique, tous les avantages de la France : langue, administration, éducation, soleil, eau chaude, fruits exotiques...et inconvénients : pouvoir d'achat, problème d'intégration (mais ça c'est à confirmer en vivant plus longtemps sur place), peur de "s'ennuyer" au bout de quelques années (île);
* Bénin, avantages : pays en développement continu, toute ma famille y est déjà installée, retour aux sources, dépaysement absolu, pouvoir d'achat (immobilier et tout le reste) et la NOURRITURE ; inconvénients : administration (déménagement, visa...), éducation (y a-t-il des écoles de bon niveau?) et mon ami étant yovo s'intègrera-t-il facilement et moi même?
J'ai encore pleins de questions à poser mais j'en laisse un peu pour celui ou celle qui voudra bien me répondre. Merci d'avance.

Je te remercie Tigermoth pour ta réponse et effectivement le côté financier est très important comme tu dois t'en douter. Le capital, je l'aurai lors de la vente de notre appart et du crédit que m'accordera ma banque, mais il est vrai que je ne suis pas vraiment prête à en perdre beaucoup surtout maintenant que nous sommes parents (donc Martinique 0 - Bénin 1).
Au niveau de l'école je sais bien qu'il y en a partout mais il me semble important que le niveau d'éducation soit correct.
Et toi, as tu eu l'occasion de visiter ces pays et si oui, qu'en as-tu pensé?
les deux pays sont totalement opposés et donc partent sur une démarche différente.
pour la valeur d investissement d unappart je n irai pas à la martinique.
les axes de ton projet d expatriation ne sont pas assez ciblé.
En te lisant je dis ... tiens quelqu un va faire une bonne affaire plus tard quand tu aura coulé ...
je ne veux j amais décourager personne je suis un indépendant forcené c 'est popur cela que je te dis muri tonprojet d autant que quand tu créé ton petit bout passe au second plan.

Quitte à tenter l'aventure autant ne pas la faire à moitié ! Je suis complètement d'accord avec toi Le Bénin c'est LA destination... en tout cas UNE destination d'avenir. En plus, ta double culture est un atout évident.
Un bon copain (couple mixte+enfants) a fait la même chose que vous, au Pérou et franchement depuis 5 ans il ne l'a jamais regretté.
En fait, je suis en train de monter un projet touristique justement au Bénin et suis intéressé de partager qqs réflexions avec pourquoi pas vue sur d'éventuels partenariats à terme avec des gens motivés et volontaires.

Je vis au Bénin depuis plus d'un an et j'adore ce pays. Mon constat: il y a de magnifiques réussites (y compris de yovos) mais attention: malgré ses APPARENCES, le système administratif, juridique n'a rien à voir EN REALITE avec nos références occidentales (l'expression "France, Etat de droit" y prend tout son sens).
Je m'explique:même en travaillant ds le domaine juridique, donc a fortiori même en étant assisté(e) par d'excellents professionnels (avocats, notaires...), la réalité est d'être confronté(e) à l'incessante nécessité de payer des surcoûts inattendus pour la moindre démarche, le moindre document gratuits en France. Ajouté à un système juridique bien compliqué (ex: achat banal d'une voiture à un particulier. Il faut deux témoins. Puis vendeur + acheteur + les deux témoins doivent se déplacer EN PERSONNE à la mairie pour certifier véracité de vente plus...plus... A tourner chèvre!!! ).
Alors, l'avantage d'avoir une double culture et sa famille ou des amis implantés sur place s'avère précieux.
Le Bénin est un pays magnifique, en plein devenir mais, à mon sens, il faut être sacrément solide financièrement et psychologiquement pour se lancer dans l'aventure. Toutefois, comme on dit en France, "le jeu en vaut la chandelle", = ça en vaut la peine !!! Bonne chance !
PS1: yovos bien acceptés. Les Béninois sont pacifiques et accueillants.
PS2: le gouvernement cherche depuis peu à favoriser le retour au pays des Béninois de la diaspora et leur installation (et investissements). Incitations fiscales, démarches facilitées, association créée...En ayant la double nationalité, vous êtes concerné(e), renseignez-vous.
Sachez que toute demarche est possible suffit de savoir si on veut quitter sa zone de confort. Mais si on veut quitter notre pays c'est qu'on veut du depaysement et il faut pas s'attendre la meme chose que chez soi. Sinon aussi bien rester chez soi!
Moi je vis au Canada et le reproche qu'on fait au Francais qui emmigrent ici c'est qu'ils comparent toujours à la France. A Rome on vit comme les romains dit le proverbe!! Les Francais veulent vivre ailleurs qu'en France mais avec les memes privileges qu'en France sans les inconvenients. Mon pere est francais, je connais donc cette mentalité. Le Benin doit etre un pays extraordinaire et les gens qui y vivent doivent travailler fort pour ce qu'ils ont ou veulent avoir mais je crois que c'est partout comme ca. C'est sur qu'au Benin ou en Martinique ou ailleurs vous n'aurez pas pas pareil qu'en France mais vous aurez autre chose, qui peut etre aussi extraordinaires et merveilleux si vous acceptez ce que les gens on a vous offrir. Faut etre ouverts aux choses différentes, aux gens différents et aux mentalites différentes. Arretez de comparer avec ce qu'il ya en France c'est ca qui fait que les Francais qui le font ne s'acclimatent nulle part!! J'Ai un oncle francais qui apres 45 ans au Canada dis encore:''NOUS en france on a ....'' Non mais, ca fait 45 ans!! Dites vous que si un contrat vous attend dans ce nouveau pays vous avez une longueur d'Avance sur les autres et demandez vous avec combien par mois les gens de la place vivent. Et la vous realiserez que vous avez de la chance, et que vous avez toujours la possibilité de revenir chez vous si vous n'aimez pas

Par rapport à vos propos, il est vrai que les français ont tendance à vouloir retrouver partout où ils vont les mêmes avantages que dans leur pays et aiment faire des comparaisons, mais c'est parce qu'ils n'ont souvent que cette référence et comme vous dîtes c'est notre mentalité. Mais celui qui est parfait me jette la première pierre.
De toute façon pour nous, ce n'est pas spécialement les avantages de la France que l'on cherche mais plutôt un lieu où on se sentira à notre place, où l'on pourra s'épanouir et élever notre enfant dans les meilleures conditions. Alors la Martinique ou le Bénin mon cœur balance encore, pourtant il faudra prendre une décision à un moment ou un autre cependant comme on dit il faut laisser le temps au temps.
En tout cas, si je puis me permettre, ayant visité le Canada il y a 10 ans de ça (séjour un petit trop court à mon goût, je renouvellerai un jour ou l'autre le voyage "si Dieu le veut"), vous habitez un endroit super où les gens sont d'une gentillesse irréprochable, souriants, aimables (plus du côté francophone ou alors je ne suis pas tombée sur les bonnes personnes...).

Votre message confirme bien les doutes que j'avais sur l'administration béninoise ou même africaine en général. Je savais et je sais que l'Afrique comme pas mal de pays dit du tiers monde le bakchiche est monnaie courante, mais c'est comme ça que certains s'en sortent, faut-il vraiment leur reprocher ? Il est vrai que d'avoir de la famille sur place est un avantage et je profiterai bien de cet atout si c'est cette destination que nous choisissons.
Confère PS2 : je ne savais pas qu'il y avait une politique d'intégration pour les béninois de la diaspora, je vais faire mes recherches là-dessus.
En tout cas, je suis heureuse de voir que vous vous êtes bien intégré(e) et que le pays et son peuple vous ont conquis; cela me rend fière en tant que béninoise d'origine.
Pour se faire une idée, il faut que j'amène mon ami au Bénin afin qu'il puisse faire la comparaison avec la Martinique et que moi aussi je m'imprègne de nouveau du pays car cela fait déjà 14 ans la dernière fois que j'ai mis les pieds là-bas.

Comme toi, je suis Béninois d'origine.... ai passé la plus grande partie de ma jeune vie en europe plus précisément en France et en Suisse. J'i ai fait des étude d'Ingénierie Financière et de Droit des Affaires. Je suis revenu au Bénin depuis Juin 2009 Et je ne regrette pas. D'ailleurs, je suis à la tête d'une Agence de Développement Local qui crée son Fonds d'Investissement Local et à ce titre ton profil m'intéresse. Pour plusieurs raisons, je recherche mes collaborateurs d'un peu partout. Car.... (je suis sûr que je ne t'apprends rien ) la véritable carence chez nous, c'est les compétences et les idées.

Comme tu dis l'Afrique en général manque de "cerveaux", c'est bien de venir faire ses études en Europe mais il faut penser à revenir au pays et le développer, l'Afrique pourrait tellement être un GRAND CONTINENT...

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?
