Je vais bientôt faire une demande de visa étudiant (F) pour les Etats-Unis. Je vais y étudier 9 mois l'anglais là-bas.
J'ai une petite inquiétude concernant l'obtention du visa.
Voici quelques petites questions :
1. J'ai le vieux modèle de passeport (en papier) qui n'est bien sûr plus valable. Peut-on souscire en même pour un passeport et un visa en même temps ou vaut-il mieux d'abord attendre d'avoir le passeport ?
2. Concernant les documents à fournir, leur site dit qu'il faut des papiers prouvant que l'on rentrera bien en France, que l'on a des attaches dans notre pays de résidence.
Quelles preuves puis-je donner ?

Mais vu mon jeune âge, je n'ai pas vraiment d'attaches solides.
Je suis bien propriétaire d'une maison mais ce sont plutôt mes parents alors je ne sais pas si ça vaut.
Mon compte bancaire, je n'ai rien eu dessus ces 3 derniers mois. Je ne travaille pas encore et je ne fais pas de job en ce moment.
Que me suggérez-vous comme preuves de mon retour ?
Je ne voudrais pas qu'ils me refusent le visa pour ça. Ils disent d'ailleurs que c'est pour cela qu'ils refusent en général les demandes de visas.
Enfin bon, j'ai aussi vu qu'ils sont plus comprhésensifs pour les jeunes car ils n'ont pas encore forcément des attaches solides.
Mais bon, il faut quand même prouver quelque chose.
3. Pour le remplissage du DS-156, ils demandent une adresse aux Etats-Unis. Je n'ai de loin pas encore l'adresse où j'habiterai.
L'adresse de la famille n'est donné que 15 jours avant le départ ?
Que remplir dans ce cas là ?
4. Pour le remplissage du DS-158, ils demandent d'indiquer 2 contacts pouvant prouver l'exactitude des informations que je donne. Mais ils ne veulent ni famille, ni proches.
Qui donner d'autre ? Ce sont les seuls qui peuvent confirmer mes infos.

et bien en ce qui concerne la preuve de ton attache en france pourquoi ne leur donnerai tu pas une photocopie de ton billet de retour? si j etais toi, je demanderai le passeport et le visa en meme temps, vu que les demarches peuvent etre assez longue, autant tout faire d un coup.
sinon, tu dis que tu ne connaitra ton adresse sur place seulement 15 jours avant le depart, ca veut dire que tu pars avec un organisme? ou que tu as un contact la bas? c cette personne( ou cet organisme) que tu dois signaler comme contact sur place.
Oui c'est ce que j'avais pensé mais n'est-ce pas risqué de prendre le billet avant au cas où le visa nous serait refusé.
De plus, je ne pourrais prendre mon billet pas avant juin car mon retour est programmé pour juin 2008.
Quelle autre preuve d'attache pourrais-je alors fournir ?

C'est en effet avec un organisme avec qui je pars. Mais que ce soit F, STS ou autres, ils fournissent l'adresse de l'hébergement que peu de temps avant le départ.
Donc le mieux est de donner l'adresse de l'école, non ?

Il y a certains vieux modele de passport qui sont toujours valable hien renseigne toi bien savoir à quels dates ton passport a été fait pour savoir s'il est encore valable ou pas, s'il l'est ca te fera economiser 60 euros quand même.
L'important aussi c'est que ton passport soit valable au moins 6 mois après la fin prévu de ton visa.
Je précise aussi que dans les papiers que j'ai eu a remplir (pour des visas J1 et L1 donc je suppose que pour F c'est la même chose) il est toujours demandé le numéro du passeport. Il faut donc avoir fait son passeport avant de faire un demande de visa. D'autant plus que le visa sera imprimé à l'intérieur du passeport au final.
Pour les preuves d'attachements à la France tu peux peut être justifié la continuation de tes études si tu es dans un cycle quelconque, apporté un livret de famille au cas où pour l'attachement familial. Je ne me rappelle pas avoir eu a donné de telle preuve pour le J1, mais ma mémoire me fait peut être défaut.
Pour l'adresse aux etats unis peut etre que l'organisme a des bureaux (donc une adresse) aux etats unis que tu peux fournir comme adresse pour le DS 156 demande leur.
Mon passeport a été fait en 2001, juste avant le 11 septembre et est valable donc jusqu'en 2011.
Mais depuis il y a les passeports biométriques ou électroniques donc je sais pas si le mien est encore valable. Y a juste mon adresse et ma signature. Je ne sais pas si ils accepteront ça avec les nouvelles mesures.
Crois-tu qu'il est encore valable ? J'en doute...
Je fais une 1ère année d'histoire cette année mais je compte arrêter et me réorienter dans l'anglais à mon retour.
Peut-être puis-je demander de l'université une lettre certifiant que je suis attendu en septembre 2008 ?
Sinon oui, je vis encore à ma famille, je n'ai pas de logement à moi, je suis encore à la charge de mes parents. Donc je pense que le livret de famille est une bonne preuve et éventuellement montrer le truc de propriété de mes parents. Après tout, ça sera à moi après de prendre la suite.
Oui je pense que je communiquerai plutôt le bureau central, pas l'école. PArce qu'en fait je fait 2 endroits (Boston + LA) donc puisque je vais ailleurs après c'est mieux que je donne l'adresse du truc central aux Etats-Unis (à NYC), non ?
Encore une question, faut-il prouver qu'on a assez d'argent pour subvenir à nos besoins ?
Que faut-il fournir ? Un extrait de compte ?
Dans la mesure où c'est une autre personne qui me donnent l'argent (parents, tante..), comment prouve-t-on ?
L'argent doit-il être viré sur notre compte ou un donne un extrait et les adresses des personnes qui nous donnent l'argent ?

Et je travaille en interim à temps partiel, j'en doute que ce soit une attache. Biensûr j'ai ma famille mais quelle preuve d'attache peut elle me procurer? Par contre mon stage est conventionnel je dois rendre un rapport et le soutenir ce qui qui ma présence. et de toute façon je compte rester là-bas mais bon il faut le prouver selon eux.

pour ce qui est de l'attache, on m'a rien demandé.
les seules questions auxquelles j'ai eu droit (et en anglais) c'etait : ou allez vous (ds quelle université)? qu'allez vous etudier? combien de tps comptez vous rester? (ne dites pas que vous souhaitez rester plus longtemps, meme pr du tourisme!)
ils m'ont rien demandé sur mes projets apres les etats unis. et de tte facon j'avais aucune preuve non plus.
s'ils vous posent la question dites que vous aimez la france, que vous avec un(e) petit(e) copain(ine) et je pense que ca suffira...
