Je viens vous demander des conseils. Lors de mon prochain voyage, début avril, je compte louer un scooter pour visiter (à notre rythme) autour de Chiang Rai.

Pour pouvoir me déplacer sans me perdre, j'aimerai avoir quelques réponses :

- Existe t il une application qui permet d'utiliser un GSP sur smartphone hors connexion ?

- Vaut il mieux acheter une carte SIM sur place ? si oui, où acheter et comment faire fonctionner (désolé, je ne l'ai jamais fais).

tout est dans le titre. Quelqu'un pourrait-il nous dire où nous pourrions acheter une carte de la ville de Chiang Mai assez détaillée pour y voir les rues et pouvoir se déplacer à pieds?

J'ai fait des copies d'écran de Google Map (nous n'achetons pas de forfait pour téléphone/internet, en voyage on aime être un peu coupés du monde) mais ce n'est pas aussi pratique qu'une vraie carte. A Bangkok, nous avions trouvé une carte du réseau des bus (qu'on avait un peu rechigné à nous vendre... et je ne sais plus où nous l'avions achetée) et on y voyait toutes les rues c'était super pour se déplacer seuls.

Je dois dire que j'ai beaucoup de mal à mettre en place mon voyage, tout vivre, tout voir, et je n'ai que 1 mois de mi octobre à mi novembre et j'aimerais garder une petite semaine pour le sud. Hello, After a lot of searching, exchanging ideas, and thinking it over, I’ve decided to go back to my original plan of spending two weeks in Bangkok. From January 19th to February 2nd. I’ll also take a quick trip for one night/two days to Ayutthaya (and return to Bangkok, where I’ll have kept the apartment I booked), and possibly the same for Kanchanaburi, depending on how I feel once I’m there—whether I find something more interesting in Bangkok or nearby. The key word is: taking my time to take photos, observe, taste, savor (in every sense of the word), and most importantly, not rushing. Beyond the must-see tourist spots, I’d love to wander around the city and maybe within a 40 to 50 km radius for a day trip to discover unusual and lesser-known streets, houses, temples, markets, gardens, and more. I’ll also be spending two weeks in Chiang Mai and two weeks in Nan. I’m open to any suggestions. Thank you so much!

Informations pour les touristes qui se rendent au PDS.

Il y a quelques année de cela, on pouvait acheter un forfait illimité pour une période définie avec True Move, ce n'était pas très cher.

Actuellement, on peut toujours acheter un forfait pour une période donnée, sauf que le prix ont nettement augmentés et que ce n'est plus illimité.

J'ai payé 599.- bahts pour 15 jours, avec 8GB de donnée. Ce n'est plus illimité et 8 GB c'est pas des masses. Un peu de Google map, quelques vidéos aux amis, on y arrive vite.

Alors bien sur, c'est toujours moins cher qu'en Europe. Cela dit, comparé à quoi ? 4 ans en arrière, je trouve que l'augmentation des coûts, couplé à la limitation des données, font que les packs sont nettement moins attrayants.

Here’s the itinerary I’ve planned for this new trip to Thailand:

Arrival – 2 nights in Bangkok (any hotel recommendations? Very quiet, near Chinatown or by the river)

Train or taxi (which app should I use for Thailand?) to Phetchaburi – 2 nights (any hotel recommendations?)

Daytime train to Surat Thani – 1 night there (any hotel recommendations?)

Pick up the rental car and head to Khao Sok – 1 night there (any hotel recommendations?)

Drive to Ko Kho Khao – 3 nights – relaxation (any hotel recommendations?)

Drive to Phang Nga Bay – 1 night (any base recommendations?)

Excursion in the bay, then drive to Krabi – 2 nights (any hotel recommendations) or any other spot with beautiful, quiet beaches that you might know?

Return to Surat Thani – overnight train to Bangkok, then Ayutthaya (any hotel recommendations?)

Visit the site and transfer to the airport – sniff, time to head back!

If you have other suggestions, keeping in mind the trip’s vibe: beach time without crowds or entertainment, a bit of nature, a bit of culture, no stress... No domestic flights and charming accommodations (not at 150 € per night, even though the budget is reasonable!)

Not sure I’ll follow them all, but all your ideas are welcome! 😉

Fort heureusement aucun mort mais des blessés ; et un paquet de véhicules en triste état .

Sur la vidéo on voit très bien le conducteur du car rouler sur la voie opposée à la sienne ; franchissement de deux lignes jaunes parallèles et continues ; en fait il ne veut pas attendre derrière tout le monde et dépasse sans aucune visibilité en roulant à contresens et ce qui devait arriver se produit :😠😠 carambolage avec toute une série de véhicules qui eux étaient du bon côté de circulation .

bonjour, je desire faire une escapade de 15 jours a Bangkok et Chiang mai, en janvier 2018 pour cela je cherche un guide francophone sur place et si possible un hotel sympa ou l ont parle français car mon anglais et catastrophique merci d avance a tous.

Notre petite famille (2 adultes + 2 enfants 8 et 11 ans) se rendra en Thaïlande en aout prochain.

Nous n'avons que les billets d'avion (Paris<>Bangkok) pour le moment.

Nous souhaiterions visiter le nord de la Thaïlande jusqu'à Chian Mai durant une semaine, puis allez à Koh Samui 10 jours et enfin revenir vers Bangkok et faire un aller/retour de 2/3 jours à Siem Rep pour visiter Angkor avant de rentrer en France.

Malgré les nombreux posts que j'ai lu sur ce forum, je me pose encore pas mal de questions. J'espère que vous pourrez m'aider à préparer notre voyage.

- Bangkok (3 nuits) - Kanchanaburi (rivière Kwaï) (2 nuits) - Ayutthaya (2 nuits) - Chian Mai (4 nuits) - Koh Samui (8 nuits) - Siem Rep (3 nuits) - Bangkok (1 nuit)

Tout d'abord, je souhaiterai avoir votre avis quant aux déplacements entre ces différentes étapes ? Train, bus, taxi ? Avez-vous des contacts pour réserver depuis la France ? Nous devrions être chargés de 2 grosses valises, 1 petite valise et 3 petits sacs à dos. N'est-ce pas trop difficile de se déplacer avec tout ces bagages ?

Ensuite, quel quartier nous conseillez-vous à Bangkok, Chian Maï et sur l'ile de Koh Samui ? Pour Koh Samui, nous souhaiterions réserver une maison (type airbnb avec piscine) pas trop loin de restaurant, plage, etc. savez-vous s'il existe des services de ménage et cuisinier ?

Enfin, pourriez-vous m'indiquer les attractions indispensables (temple, réserve zoologique, rizière, marché, cascades, etc.) à voir à chacune de ces étapes ?

I’ve got a question about buses, which we love using in Bangkok, but it’s always a bit of a challenge to figure out how to get around. We always (eventually) reach our destination because there’s always someone willing to help us find our way, but this year, I’d like us to be a bit more independent. We’re a bit old-school—we like traveling without phones for a real digital detox (no judgment, everyone travels how they like! :) ), so ideally, we’d find an up-to-date map of Bangkok’s bus network, but we don’t know where to buy one... We managed to get one back in 2015, but I think it’s outdated now, and during our last trips, we couldn’t find any...

And if traveling like this is really outdated, could you recommend a reliable app for buses? That way, we could plan our routes using the hotel’s Wi-Fi before heading out.

I have a question about the Rome2Rio app. Can you set it up to show routes using the BTS and MRT (for Bangkok) instead of buses or taxis? For example, I’d like to know how long the trip from Chong Nonsi to Bang Khun Non will take, but the app doesn’t suggest the MRT or BTS, even though it’s totally doable. Any tips on how to fix this?

Hi, I just read an article announcing the launch of a "tagthai easy pay" app that lets tourists pay with their phone, just like Thais do in shops by scanning the merchant’s QR code. Has anyone got more info? Are there any foreign-exchange fees or other charges? Can you top up this account with a simple transfer from our French bank account, or do you have to use cash? I guess it’s handy for avoiding too much cash while on holiday.

Bonsoir, J'aurais besoin de vous. Je pars en septembre a Koh Samui pour une quinzaine de jours, habituellement je me sers du WiFi bar et hôtel ce qui me convient bien. Pour les appels j'utilisais une application de Bouygues Telecom gratuite mais elle n'existe plus. Pourtant cela me permettait d'appeler mes parents gratuitement sur leur mobile. Mes parents n'ont pas internet sur leur mobile je ne peux donc pas communiqué avec eux sur Messenger ou autres... Je me disais que je pourrais acheter une carte sim et mettre dans un vieux portable. Le gouverneur a ordonné la fermeture de tous les hôtels de Phuket à partir de demain. Les clients dèjà dans l'hôtel purront rester, mais les nouveaux ne seront pas acceptés. Apparemment, les guest houses ne sont pas citées...

Bonsoir, nous arriverons à minuit à l'aéroport de Suvarnabhumi et nous voulons aller directement vers Khaosan Road. Si tout va bien, il sera environ 1 heure 30 du matin quand nous quitterons cet aéroport. Quels transports pouvons-nous espérer utiliser ? Merci pour vos expériences.

Je ne pense pas qu'il ait déjà été partagé mais j'ai (enfin!) trouvé un site extra pour s'y retrouver dans la myriade de bus publics de Bangkok.

En fait, il regroupe les bus, le Skytrain, le Métro et même les bateaux (Chao Phraya Express et Khlong Boat)

En vous laissant géolocaliser, il vous trouve l' arrêt de bus le plus proche et vous propose tous les tranports possibles pour vous rendre où vous le souhaitez. On peut consulter la feuille de route de chaque numéro de bus.

Bref, LE site indispensable pour s'y retrouver et connaitre Bangkok comme sa poche ! (Et au passage participer à l'effort collectif de baisser la pollution en utilisant les transports en commun) Et en plus en français, siouplé !!
