Hi there, We’ll be in Argentina for 24 days starting mid-September 2025. I’m not sure where to go for this time of year—is Patagonia doable? Iguazu without a doubt, Salta, Peninsula Valdes to see the wildlife? Can we see penguins at that time? We love hiking, thanks for your tips!

Hi Audrey, We have roughly the same plan in October-November. Starting from Lima, we want to leave from Buenos Aires after 6-7 weeks. After 3 previous trips to Peru, we’d like to make a detour through the Atacama, Iguazu, Salta, Mendoza, Bariloche, El Calafate... The distances are stressing us out... We’re also waiting for any tips you can share.

Hi Audrey. I’m Argentinian. I can help a little. Sorry for my French. Our country is really vast. But I can suggest arriving in Buenos Aires. You can stay a few days—I think 3 or 4 would be good to get to know the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. After that, you can take a flight to Iguazú, where you can spend 3 days seeing the falls on both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. To go to Peninsula Valdes, I think you’ll need to take a flight to Puerto Madryn with a layover in Buenos Aires. I think by late September you might see whales and penguins. I saw whales with their calves in November. If you need more information, I can give it to you. Cheers.

Hi there, I suggest checking out the Petit Hergé website at www.petitherge.com—it tells you everything about Argentina. It’s awesome, really well-documented, and realistic. It’s run by a French guy who’s been living in Buenos Aires for several years. I followed their super helpful tips during my trips to Argentina. Wishing you a wonderful discovery of this country. Best, Danyflore.

Hi Danyflore, Thanks for the "tip". We’ll use it to plan our trip to northern Chile and Argentina.
