Je compte me rendre 3 mois en décembre 2009. Bumbai, Goa, Kerala et après je sais pas encore. Je ne compte pas trop bouger, si je le fais ce sera en bus, en train. J'ai le permis A en France, et j'aimerai louer une moto pas trop petite (je suis grand de taille) style 125 ou 250, là je me poserais.
Je ne compte pas faire l'Inde en moto mais pk pas, j'aime bien être indépendant, aller au marchés avec, faire des petites virées sur des plages éloignées pendant la journée, des petites excursions (50 - 100 km maxi) pour aller visiter un site, ou tout simplement faire un ptit tour pas loin.
J'ai lu qu'on pouvait acheter, mais pas à son nom, mais alors pour revendre en partant, c'est pas trop compliqué ? J'ai lu aussi un post d'un Suisse sur Pondichéry qui semblait bon marché, mais ca fait loin, et après il faut ramener la bête, puis revenir...Acheter et être sûr de revendre sans prise de tête m'interesserais aussi, je ferais alors mon parcours en moto, pourquoi pas...
Pour l'instant je pense louer, mais combien ca coûte pour quel type de modèle ? Peux -t-on louer à la semaine, au mois ? y a - t il une assurance incluse ? Quelles sont les arnaques à éviter ?
Effectivement, nous trouvons que la moto est un bon moyen de se déplacer en Inde; bien sûr il faut savoir s'adapter à la circulation et au style "très particulier" de conduite là-bas. Mais ce moyen de locomotion offre liberté et panorama sur le pays.
Nous avons fait notre première expérience dans l'état de Goa. Le bouche à oreilles est le meilleur moyen pour trouver à louer une moto. Pour preuve, lors de ce voyage nous avons loué une Royal Enfield 350 à dans une boutique de chaussures. Nous avons renouvelé ce style de voyage itinérant cet été au mois de juillet dans le Tamil Nadu, où nous avons loué la Royal Enfield (hé oui encore, mais nous aimons) à Mammalipuram dans un garage pour environ 400 roupies (après négociation) par jour sur une période de 3 semaines

les prix de fabfour sont exacts car il s`agit dune periode dite haute saison, il est sur que plus longtemps vous louerez une moto, plus les prix seront interessants, pour un mois, 300 rpies par jour pour une enfield, si vous etes interesses par ce modele, mon mari tient un garage a arambol(nord goa, 40kms de panjim) ou il fixe, loue et vend des royals enfield, si vous souhaitez plus d`informations, n`hesitez pas a me contacter,

A 300 rps/jours , ca fait 27000 rps pour 90 jours = 387 € pour 3 mois (je sais pas en dollars Canadien)
Donc la question est de savoir : si j'achète, mettons, une moto pour 1000 €, est ce que je peux la vendre au moins 613 € (prix de l'achat - le prix que j'aurais payé pour la location).
Si je la revend vite fais 800 €, par exemple, ca vaut le coup
Si je peine pour m'en débarrasser et que je finis par la lacher pour 500 €, ben... vaut mieux louer, non ?

il est assez rare qu`un voyageur ne revend pas sa becane , il y a beaucoup de touriste interesses pour acheter (majorite d`israelis), il est vrai kil faut s`y prendre un petit peu a l`avance(1mois cest tres bien, ca laisse du temps, et il faut imprimer des affichettes d`info ke vous accrochez un peu partout aux villages et aux garages , lieux strategiques, je vous rapelle , nombreux sont les touristes qui passent au garage savoir s`il y a une moto a vendre ou a louert d`ailleurs), et finallement avoir un peu de chance!pour repondre a votre question, je ne peux pas vous garantir que vous revendrez votre moto au meme prix mais pour un prix un peu moindre, les chances restent tres elevees.
pour revenir a l`option location, elle permet de s`eviter ces preparations de vente et de voyager peut etre pour vous l`esprit plus tranquille!c`est a vous de voir, la solution qui vous convient le mieux

Ben oui, en fait c'est le sujet de ma discussion: louer ou acheter ? quoi faire ?? les avantages et les inconvénients de chacuns, les prix, etc....C'est sûr que de galérer 1 mois pour vendre sa moto j'ai pas envie..D'un autre coté c'est TA moto, ok. Mais pour revendre, les formalités, papier etc ?
Louer est plus chère, ca l'a toujours été pour tout (ou presque) mais un avantage c'est que si la moto tombe en panne, on peux la ramener et se plaindre et si impossible de se mettre d'accord avec le loueur, on risque juste de perdre 2-3 mois de location, non ?
ya t-il une sorte de service, de garantie si tu loues en Inde, en cas de panne, par exemple ? Et si tu te la fais voler (en location) quoi faire ?
Bref, ce sont le genre de questions que pas mal de voyageurs doivent se poser..🤪

il peut etre interessant de partir vers hampi, site impressionnant et interessant historiquement, depuis goa, et puis se diriger vers le kerala, mais ca fait une trote, jai en tete un couple ki avait pour projet de faire hampi et kerala en un mois et ca leur a paru trop court donc ils ont prefere faire hampi et ses environs puis revenir et se detendre sur goa, la il faut donc etudier de kelle facon vous voulez voyager..
la meilleure periode pour le sud est d'octobre a mars,
le prix location pour une enfield pour un mois:300rpies/jour, (68rpies=1eur);;;

Justement ben moi j'ai eu l'idee d'en prendre une aussi moto et de descendre dans le sud. Je suis a bombay, alors je pense essayer d'en trouver une ici (second hand) et de la revendre dans le sud.
Alors g juste quelques questions pratiques :
- quels sont les papiers necessaires pour acheter et rouler en inde? j'imagine que ce n'est pas aussi strict qu'en france, mais a quel point? L'immatriculation et tout? ca marche comment?
- on m'a conseille dans le train la Bullet, mais je sai spas si c'est la meme que la RE? Et puis, peutetre qu'il y en a d'autres interessantes? C'est que la premiere que je trouve et qui fonctionne bien je la prends, car je voudrais partir vite, je ne sais pas lesquelles sont les plus communes....

d'autres alternatives: En Inde il te faut la ENFIELD. Si t'as pas la ENFIELD c'est pas bon. La ENFIELD
c'est cool, romantique, très style. Un touriste doit rouler en ENFIELD. Si il roule pas en ENFIELD, alors
on le regardera de haut et sera peut-être pris pour un looser qui n'a rien compris. En ENFIELD il sera
respecté, et surtout ne dénotera pas en Inde. C'est un peu comme la Harley: un bon vrai biker se doit

hello🙂, pour acheter une bullet, assurez vous que votre vendeur a les papiers originaux de la moto, vous n'avez pas de papiers a fournir pour acheter, 'et pour rouler il vous faut votre permis international, cest tout, et sur la route kklezs ptites coupures pour payer les backshishs(les sousous pour la police locale), meme si vous etes en droit ils trouveront tjrs lkkle chose pour vous soutirer un peu d'argent , donnez 50/100rpies permet de regler l'histoire au plus vite;;;

August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
