Je viens d'apprendre qu'au mois de juillet je vais pouvoir partir à Bangalore pour étudier dans une université, pendant 6 mois à un an. Je suis super contente, mais aussi quelque peu terrorisée. Je lis et j'entends partout que l'Inde est une expérience boulversante et pas forcément facile pour une fille toute seule.
Un de mes amis Indiens essaie de me rassurer en me disant que c'est une ville magnifique et que je vais adorer. Mais ma tête est remplie de questions: quel budget prévoir? comment bien s'intégrer sur place? comment trouver un logement? comment ne pas se faire entuber à tort et à travers? quel vaccins faire avant le départ? enfin bref... à quoi pourra bien ressembler ma vie là-bas? En plus je ne parle que quelques mots de Hindi et pas la langue locale...🤪

Je confirme, Bangalore est une des villes les plus agréables qui bénéficie d'une sorte de micro-climat par rapport au reste de la région. C'est chaud en été, mais jamais aussi chaud que dans le reste de la région. Ville très verte, tout le monde aime.
Pour le reste, tu t'intégrera facilement si tu n'as pas d'à priori. Les indiens sont très accueillants, et t'inviteront volontiers. Par contre ne sois pas surprise par des invitations de dernière minute, des invitations remises, le lieu ou le programme qui change, etc...
Aussi un détail qui surprend au début, quand tu es invitée à diner, n'arrive jamais à l'heure ! tu pourrais être seule pendant 1 heure... 20 heures, ça veut dire entre 21 et 23 heures... et on te sert un tas de choses délicieuses jusquà l'heure du vrai diner, servi vers 23/24 heures, et dès celui-ci terminé, tout le monde s'en va...
Bien sûr, ceci vaut pour des invitations où il y a un certain nombre de personnes ; Si tu es invitée seule dans une famille en comité restreint, ou au restaurant, il vaut mieux se conformer aux horaires donnés, ou presque...
Je n'ai personnellement jamais fait de vaccins, il n'y en a pas d'obligatoire, ni de traitement anti-palu. Mais ce qui vaut pour moi n'est pas forcément vrai pour les autres. Les vaccins de base - à jour- (DTPOLYO - TETANOS - BCG) sont recommandés, Hépatite A et B si tu le sens, le mieux est de voir avec ton médecin, et aussi si tu vis dans une région à moustiques, si tu as l'intention de "barouder", etc...
Attends-toi à une tourista ou deux en arrivant, ça fait partie de l'initiation ! et rend moins vulnérable par la suite, mais à soigner sérieusement de toute façon. Toutes les autres précautions d'hygiène sont à respecter (pas d'eau du robinet, fruits et légumes épluchés, pas de glaçons si tu n'en connais pas la provenance, etc...) si tu veux passer un séjour qui ne manquera pas d'être très agréable...
J'ai étudié pendant une année à l'école polytechnique de Delhi et mon séjour en Inde a été de loin la plus belle expérience de ma vie. Même si les deux ou trois premières semaines dans ce pays sont en général assez pénibles pour l'Occidental qui débarque (envie de rentrer, etc.), on finit assez vite par s'y sentir comme chez soi et la vie devient très agréable. Je pense donc que tu vas toi aussi adorer ton séjour en Inde.
Pour la langue, vu que tous les Indiens ont au moins quelques rudiments d'anglais, tu ne devrais pas rencontrer trop de problèmes de communication. Et en ce qui concerne le logement, les universités indiennes proposent en général à leurs étudiants des chambres dans des hostels sur leur campus.
Pour avoir une idée de budget, durant mon séjour en Inde, j'ai énormément voyagé (je suis parti quasiment chaque week-end ainsi que pendant les vacances, je suis même allé deux fois au Pakistan - jette un coup d'oeil à mon site web!) tout en vivant plutôt modestement, sans toutefois me priver de confort (équipement pour ma chambre, restos fréquents, cinéma, sorties avec des amis, etc.).
Mon année en Inde m'a ainsi coûté environ 3'000 euros (sans compter le billet d'avion et les frais d'assurance payés en Suisse). Je précise de plus que ma chambre et la nourriture à la cantine universitaire m'ont été offertes.

j'ai passé plusieurs mois a bangalore pour un stage avec des amis francais rencontrés la bas qui viennent de l'ESC Pau et y faisaient un semestre d'études ...
leur université était très éloignée de la ville, ils étaient logés et nourris mais de manière très sommaire et la petite ville ou ils habitaient n'avait pas grand chose à offrir... l'expérience a donc été parfois assez difficile de ce coté la... pour le reste je te rassure, ils ont liés des relations supers avec les étudiants indiens de leur université et ont profité au maximum de leur séjour...
quelle est l'université ou tu va étudier ?
concernant tes autres questions.. énormément de gens parlent un minimum d'anglais a bangalore et tu trouveras toujours quelqu'un pour t'aider de ce coté la... tu seras surement surprise de voir a quel point cette ville est moderne et internationale.. il y a beaucoup de restaurants, de cafés, de boites... qui cotoient l'inde traditionnelle a chaque coin de rue....!
pour le logement c'est un peu compliqué... impossible de louer un petit studio meublé la bas... ou alors dans des complexes pour expatriés mais c'est exessivement cher et ca te coupera de la vraie vie la bas... sinon beaucoup de familles indiennes louent un chambre.. ils apellent ca "paying guest accomodation"... la par contre tu devras te plier au rythme de vie d'une famille indienne... et impossible de sortir seule et tard le soir ou d'amener des amis a la maison... tu peux encore te louer un appartement les loyers ne sont pas tres chers mais tu devras investir dans des meubles etc.... moi j'avais trouvé la perle rare, une jeune indienne tres "moderne" qui avait un grand appartement et me louait une chambre... une petite colocation tres sympa et ou tout était permis... si tu veux je pourrais te fournir des contacts sur place pour trouver quelque chose qui corresponde a tes besoins sans te faire avoir...
pour t'intégrer je ne pense pas que tu auras beaucoup de problemes, les indiens sont tres curieux et viennent sans arret vers toi pour te poser des dizaines de questions sur ta vie...
pour ne pas te faire entuber... c'est surtout une question de bon sens et de feeling avec les gens... de toutes facons on n'y echappe jamais completement mais n'hesite pas a etre ferme parfois pour obtenir ce que tu veux... a etre trop gentil on se fait toujours avoir !
quand a ce a quoi pourrait ressembler ta vie la bas, ca sera a toi de decider, la ville offre toutes les possibilités...

Je ne connais pas la region de Bangalore, mais j ai travaille un an en inde 6 mois a Calcutta et 4 mois a Agra.
Je pense qu il faut que tu t attendes a une premiere periode d acclimatation un peu difficile (peut etre 3 semaines un mois) aussi bien d un point de vue intestinal que culturel.
Je dois t avouer que ca a ete mon cas j ia eu au debut une grosse sensation de rejet, mais passe cette periode difficile c est vraiment un pays genial avec des gens tellement different que ca fait reflechir sur nos certitudes d occidentaux.

Je vis ds cette belle ville depuis 14 ans et, malgré des changements drastiques, je considère être chanceux d'être ici et non pas à B'bay, Delhi, Calcutta ou Madras. Tu verras par toi mm et découvriras la gentillesse des indiens. J'ai tjrs 1 ou 2 stagiaires françaises ds ma boîte tt au long de l'année. Je les loge ds un appart près du bureau. Tu pourras les contacter une fois sur place pour avoir des infos et conseils sur la vie à B'lore. Je reste moi aussi à ta dispo si tu as besoin d'autres renseignements (tu en as déjà eu pas mal avec les autres membres)

Pas de pbs pour les enfants à B'lore. Seuls les activités restent limitées et il faut se "battre" pour qu'ils puissent faire du tennis, cheval, foot... Tt est tjrs plus compliqué en Inde mais on arrive tjrs à tt si on est motivé.

Il y a des écoles internationales qui sont horriblement chers pour la qualité de l'enseignement dispensé ds ces établissements. Néanmoins ts les fils et filles d'expats s'y retrouvent car, je pense, cela donne bonne conscience au parents. Pour la part, mon fils est ds une école locale de langue anglaise et tt se passe pour le mieux. Maintenant, mon épouse est bcp plus callée que moi ds ce domaine.

Personnelement, je pars à la mi-mai, pour un stage de 4 mois à l'IISC (ingénieur) de Bangalore, et je t'avoue que je suis vraiment content, mais aussi un peu stressé...
Mais au moins il y aura quelques français sur place, ca rassure!

A priori il devrait y faire bon car j'ai rencontré le doyen de ma future fac il y a quelques semaines, et apparemment, il a eu un choc thermique en arrivant à Paris ! lol 😎

ca y est, 'ai mes bileets d'avion, je pars du 13 mai au 29 aout. ca se rapproche! Pour le climat, j'ai qq précisions: apparement a bangalore meme ca va, il ne fait pas (trop) chaud a cette periode de l'année, étant donné que la ville est en altitude (1000m). Par contre dans le rete de l'inde du sud, ca n'a pas l'air d'être la meilleure période pour y aller: l'été est la peridode des moussons! enfin bon, on verra!
Pour l'IISc, c'est au nord de Bangalore, en (plus ou moins) proche banlieue. Et toi, tu arrives quand? tu sais ou tu vas loger?

Je suis à bangalore jusqu'à fin Aout avec deux autres français, pour un stage. On a galérés 1 mois pour trouver un appartement digne de ce nom, et encore c'est grace à nos contacts indien, sinon on serait encore à l'hotel.
Ils aiment pas louer des apparts aux étrangers parcequ'ils ne nous font pas confiance, et en plus on n'est pas végétarien.
Enfin bref, on a un grand appart avec 3 chambres, et dix lits, une de ces chambres est libre, donc si tu veux on peut te la souslouer. On paie 25000 rs par mois (eau et électricité compris) se qui fait 110 Euros par mois et par personne à quatre. L'appart est meublé, vaiselles frigo etc...
Sinon niveau budget compte 50 rs (1 euro) en moyenne par repas (le minimum c'est 20 RS).

Ceci me pose donc problème pour l'obtention de mon visa. A votre avis, est ce jouable de partir avec un visa touriste et essayer d'obtenir mon visa étudiant une fois la haut.
