Je cherche un site sérieux sur lequel il serait possible de réserver des trains pour voyager en Chine.
Je souhaite avoir planifié tous mes trajets à l'avance.
Je compte faire les trajets suivants :
Shanghai Hongqiao - Suzhou
Suzhou North - Qingdao
Qingdao - Beijing South
Beijing South - Shanghai Hongqiao
Peut être est-ce plus raisonnable d'acheter les billets une fois sur place ?
Pour information, je vais aller en Chine du 11 au 23 avril.
La réservation ne peut se faire que 10 jours avant.
Si vous passez par un site en ligne il vus faudra lui fournir la photocopie de votre passeport pout avoir les billets car ils sont nominatifs, en plus vous payerez une commission par exemple avec "Chine-Evasion" il vous en coûtera 100 yuans par billet émis quelque soit le prix du billet.
Ensuite charge à vous de retirer vos billets au guichet de la gare.
En voyant les villes de destination vous pouvez aussi les commander par l'intermédiaire de votre hôtel.
Mais attention il y a beaucoup de monde qui voyage en train.
Pour la planification bien en avance ne pas y compter.

En gros vous avez 10 jours pleins en Chine, votre programme me semble bien rempli et si vous voulez aller à Xi'an en plus cela va vous prendre 2/3 jours de plus. La Chine est vaste, les distances sont énormes et comme l'on dit en France " qui trop embrasse mal étreint" donc personnellement je n'irai pas à Xi'an mais profiterai de visiter Beijing ou Shanghai plus longuement.

vous pouvez aller à Badaling par vous-même, en prenant un bus local qui met environ une heure. Par contre, j'ai complètement oublié comment s'appelle l'endroit où le prendre ainsi que son numéro, mais l'hôtel devrait pouvoir vous renseigner.
Je vous le conseille vivement, car si vous arrivez vers 17h à Badaling, il n'y a plus un chat et la Muraille est à vous ! De mémoire, ça ferme vers 19h et le dernier bus est vers 19h30, donc ça vous laisse le temps d'en profiter.

Ne pas tenir compte des avis défavorables qui datent de 2008. Il faut payer 30% de suite par virement sur leur compte en Chine. cela me semble être une agence de voyages très sérieuse. J'ai reçu une facture pour les 30% virés sur leur banque en Chine. Je ne sais pas si les prestations fournies seront au niveau de ce que j'attends, mais pou l'instant je suis très satisfaite. Toutes les réservations ont été faites comme je le voulais.

J'ai envisagé cette solution pendant un moment, mais je trouve que la commission est trop importante sur des petits trajets. Elle peut parfois représenter le double du prix du billet. Mais peut être est-ce possible de s'arranger avec eux. Qu'en est-il pour vous ?

Je ne puis vous donner le prix des billets de train, car j'ai opté pour plus de facilité dans un pays dont je ne parle ni n'écrit la langue pour des transports effectués seule, mais avec guide et chauffeur. Les Chinois ne parlent pas l'anglais et encore moins le Français même à Beijing. Etant une femme seule, et n'ayant plus 20 ans, j'ai préféré payer plus cher, mais avoir la sécurité de réservations des transports faites à l'avance, pour respecter mon programme. Essayez de vous renseigner sur les prix des billets de train réservés sur place et demandez un devis par mail à Chine Evasion.
Mes enfants qui habitent en Chine, partent souvent sans rien réserver. C'est un risque que je ne veux pas courir, au cas où il n'y aurait plus de place dans les trains (pour les grandes distances il y a le train de nuit avec couchette souple ou dure). Ils ont aussi un réseau de car de jour et de nuit. A étudier selon vos destinations. Voir le "guide du routard" ou le "petit futé".

Ecoute, je ne sais pas trop. Je vis en Chine et je ne réserve jamais mes billets de train; je les achète directement à la gare. En général, il faut prévoir un jour à l'avance mais parfois, il est tout à fait possible d'acheter pour le jour même (notamment les TGV).
Donc je pense qu'il n'y aura absolument aucun problème pour les acheter via ton hôtel; ils vont prendre une petite commission (10 ou 20 yuans) mais tu n'auras pas besoin de te prendre la tête à aller les acheter toi-même (même si c'est très folklo et qu'il se passe toujours quelque chose).
NB: tout cela concerne les périodes normales, pas les vacances (Nouvel an chinois...) où là, il est très difficile de trouver des billets.

pour t'aider dans tes réservations, voici tous les trains pour chacun de tes trajets. Comme ça, à l'hôtel, tu n'auras plus qu'à donner le numéro du train et l'heure de départ quand tu feras la réservation.

Mais etant écrit en chinois je n'ai pas unegrande lisibilité sur le type de couchettes (sleeper, dures molles etc..)mais j'aurai très certainement d'autres questions à te poser
Je pars du 11/10 au 8/11 donc 4semaines
arrivée Pékin/PIngyao/Xi an /Chengdu ( la je ne sais pas trop quoi voir Les pandas ne m intéressent pas trop)
Ensuite train pour Kunming ou Dali Lijiang Shilin Jianshui puis avion pour GUilin Yangshuo train pour Canton et retour Paris

En fonction de ce que je lis, votre programme est à priori réalisable, mais beaucoup dans la réalisation de celui-ci sera les modes de transports que vous avez choisis.
Par exemple Chengdu Kunming c'est 18h de train en gros car souvent retard. Donc si vous voulez plus de précisions, choix de vos différents modes de transports.
Ensuite combien de temps voulez-vous rester à Beijing, Xi'an, ....etc.
En lisant votre préprogramme, ne m'en veuillez pas, mais c'est un peu un inventaire à la Prévert cela ressemble plus à un tour rapide de la Chine et je crains que vous vouliez voir trop de chose en peu de temps.
Les distances sont énormes en Chine, les voyages en bus car vous serez obligés de les utiliser sont pénibles je ne veux pas vous décourager bien au contraire, mais je pense que vous devriez choisir moins de choses.
Puisque vous arrivez à Beijing prévoir quelques jours un minimum de 5 jours semble raisonnable en sachant que venant d'Europe vous allez arriver le matin fatigué du voyage donc une journée relaxe avec installation dans votre hôtel et par exemple l'après-midi les environs de la cité interdite et l'opéra plus la place, le palais du peuple etc. Cela est un exemple.
Ensuite Pingyao puis Xi'an où vous pouvez rester 3 jours plus délai de route.
Comme les pandas ne vous motivent pas plus que cela zapper Chengdu et de Xi'an prenez un vol pour Kunming.
Là aussi il va falloir choisir destination Dali Lijiang et Jianshui car à l'opposé belle ville je suppose que vous précisez cette ville car ensuite vous voulez allez voir les rizières en terrasses de Yuanyang mais petite précision à cette saison pas beaucoup d'intérêt car moissonnées le moment le mieux climatiquement et visuellement est mi février à avril.
Ensuite retour sur Guilin ne pas y rester plus de 36h mais filer sur Yangshuo et de là visiter les environs et rester dans cette région quelques jours. Mi octobre / novembre nous avons encore du beau temps et des températures douces pour vous.
Mais je vais laisser Pampita vous donner d'autres précisions.

En effet je pense aussi que tu n'as pas le temps d'aller à Xi'an qui sort vraiment de ton trajet. Comme ton voyage est court, en fait tous les achats de billets de train devront être faits à Shanghai, donc l'aide que pourra te donner ton hôtel de Shanghai va être déterminant. Il faudrait que tu les contactes pour savoir s'ils ont un service de billeterie et si éventuellement ils accepteraient d'acheter tes billets avec une photocopie de ton passeport avant ton arrivée (plus difficile, car ils devront avancer l'argent). Et tu commandes tous tes trajets dès que tu arrives. Il y a sûrement aussi des bureaux de réservation de trains à Shanghai (hors gare) mais comme mon voyage finissait à Shanghai, je ne me suis pas renseignée et n'ai aucun idée de où ils se trouvent. En plus leurs employées parlent rarement anglais ou peu. Ils prennent 5 yuans de frais par billet (à peine un peu plus d'un euro), tandis que les réceptions d'hôtels prennent en général 30 yuans.
Pour Suzhou, je vois que tu es bien informé, car tu as bien noté Suzhou North. Cette ligne Shanghai-Qingdao, comme Shanghai-Beijing sont des traquenards car elles comportent un Suzhou North qui correspond à la jolie ville aux jardins près de Shanghai et un Suzhou East qui correspond à une toute autre ville plus éloignée de Shanghai et dont les guides touristiques ne nous racontent rien. Donc en fait tu n'as qu'un train de Suzhou North et Qingdao à 14 h 05, 7 heures de trajet.
Je trouve mes informations sur le site cnvol.com, qui est un bon moyen de préparer les réservations, il vaut mieux être très précis quand on passe commande à la réception d'un hôtel ou à un bureau de réservation. Et toi ?

I’m all set with the route up to eastern Turkey.
However, I’m just starting my research for the rest of the journey—namely the Caucasus (no trains as far as I know, so buses and/or ferries), then Central Asia and China.
So, I’d love to hear any info or tips (general and forward-looking at this stage) about the train route through Central Asia and China to reach the east coast.

- How far in advance to book / any potential difficulties with reservations
- Whether there are PASS systems (or equivalent) between countries and/or if some tickets allow stopovers, meaning you can hop on and off as you please

Hi everyone, I wanted to take the Paris-Berlin overnight train with a sleeper berth, the new service operated by European Sleepers.
24/05/2026 17:45 Paris-Nord (actually 16:00 from Paris Bercy Seine) -> 25/05/2026 9:59 (actually 7:30 in Berlin)
05/06/2026 18:31 Berlin (actually 20:00) -> 06/06/2026 10:00 Paris Nord (actually 12:30)
Part of the journey was operated by bus instead of the promised overnight train.
For 2 people: 340 € round trip
A total disaster. Never again. I was really looking forward to taking the overnight train, but we faced last-minute changes and truly unpleasant travel conditions. Here are the details:
1) 2 days before departure: email announcing a change of departure station for the outbound trip—Bercy Seine bus station instead of Gare du Nord.
2) Change of schedule: 4:00 PM from Bercy instead of 5:45 PM from Gare du Nord.
3) Change of transport mode!! A bus from Paris to Brussels, then an overnight train from Brussels to Berlin. No functional toilets on the bus. No children under 4 allowed on the bus.
4) On the sleeper train at 9:30 PM: no functional toilets in our carriage, so we had to go to other carriages, even in the middle of the night, to find working ones.
5) The onboard staff, though very friendly, were as lost as we were. In particular, they didn’t know how to handle the lower berths, so people using them had less space (armrests and backrests). Berth numbers weren’t respected, so some passengers had to move. The staff also didn’t know who was supposed to join the compartment during the journey.
6) Arrival at 7:30 AM in Berlin instead of 10:00 AM. No arrival announcement. Passengers had to search for staff to get breakfast and ended up with just a coffee (breakfast = 15 €, not bad for just a coffee).
7) Return trip: drastic schedule change announced by email on 26/05/2026—departure at 7:30 PM instead of 6:30 PM, with arrival between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM in Paris instead of 10:00 AM. No change in transport mode announced.
8) Change in transport mode announced by email on the same day (05/06/2026)!! Overnight train from Brussels to Berlin, then a bus from Paris to Brussels. No functional toilets on the bus. Children under 4 banned from the bus, and families in this situation were asked to find another way—after being notified the same day.
9) The overnight train arrived at Berlin station with a 30-minute delay on top of its initial delay (scheduled for 6:31 PM, then 7:30 PM, finally arriving at 8:00 PM). The heating was blasting in the compartment with no way to turn it off. No functional toilets in the carriage. From that point on, customer service stopped responding to my messages.
10) Woken up at 5:00 AM with an announcement in all carriages about arrival in Liège.
11) Woken up again at 6:00 AM to be told we’d arrive in Brussels at 7:00 AM.
12) Arrival in Brussels at 7:00 AM and a one-hour wait for the bus to Paris. No functional toilets on the bus.
13) Arrival at Paris Nord at 12:30 PM, so 2.5 hours late compared to the originally scheduled time.
14) The overnight trains used are very old—I recognized the carriages from 20 years ago!! No functional power outlets, no Wi-Fi, no air conditioning. Five people per compartment is a bit cramped, but I consider these conditions expected (especially the air conditioning), so I’m not complaining about that. There’s already plenty to gripe about with the travel conditions.
I have little hope of getting even a partial refund. Customer service emails acknowledge the discomfort but only offer to reimburse the cost of a coffee on board if we send them the receipt... a bit weak.
I’m sharing this experience in the hope it might help others.

Tomorrow afternoon, I arrive at Lyon Part-Dieu on the TGV at 5:50 PM and take the TER to Mâcon at 6:16 PM. Is a 26-minute transfer doable? Are the TGV and TER on the same departure board? And are they on the same platforms too?

I just realized there’s only one payment method accepted for booking the Mombasa-Nairobi express train ticket online: M-Pesa, a mobile money transfer service used in Africa. Would it be impossible to book as a European?
I’d love to know if any of you have recently eaten on the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
We’ve always ordered food on the train, and it was really good (and super convenient).
But in 2022, we ended up feeling like total idiots (with our 4-year-old daughter...) when we boarded the train only to find out that this service was no longer available... (It was the first time we’d traveled right after COVID.)
That’s also when we saw once again how kind Thai people are—they all offered to share their food with us, even though we were mortified. In the end, we managed to buy some instant noodles, which was better than nothing. Anyway, that’s the little story behind it.
In the following years, we’ve always brought our own meals.
I’ve read online that meal trays are back in service (could you confirm this, please?), but that the quality is really poor. I’ve also seen multiple reports that, even though you can eat well everywhere in Thailand, the train meal was the worst food travelers had during their trip...

I’m planning to travel from Ulaanbaatar to Irkutsk by train this summer but I’m a bit worried about crossing the borders. How does it work? Could anyone share their experience? (I’ve found quite a few accounts of people going *from* Russia *to* Mongolia, but entering a country is never the same as leaving it—especially in this context!)
