Je suis à la recherche de renseignements pour aller m'installer au Belize.
Je ne vois aucune discussion sur ce pays. Si quelqu'un y est allé merci de me contacter.
Nous avions pensé nous installer au Belize en famille nous aussi, et après avoir sérieusement étudié le projet sur le papier (livre Adapter Kit to Belize) et sur internet (forum anglophones) j'y suis allé voir en éclaireur. Un peu de tourisme avec les îles paradisiaques (Caye Caulker et Ambergris Caye) et beaucoup de visites du "vrai" Belize, c'est-à-dire Corozal, OrangeWalk, Belize City, Dangriga, Placencia et Cayo. Voyage soigneusement préparé, avec un carnet d'adresse d'expatriés là-bas que j'ai rencontrés, visite au consul, visite d'écoles, etc...
Je te donne mon ressenti sur Belize, forcément subjectif :
Les cayes, c'est super, je suis tombé sous le charme de Caye Caulker, c'est très beau et c'est vraiment un paradis pour le snorkeling, j'ai vu plus de faune marine là-bas que nulle par ailleurs avec simplement un masque et un tuba. L'ambiance reggae a son charme aussi. Franchement un endroit où passer quelques jours. De là à s'y installer, y a que 400 habitants, tous parents... et rien autour.
Le reste : c'est mort de chez mort, les villes sont tristes et désertes à part le centre de Belize City et Cayo. Les gens sont peu communicatifs (en quinze jour de voyage "routard" je n'ai pas réussi à établir un seul contact avec un bélizéen, uniquement avec des expatriés ou des touristes ! Quand je pense aux autres pays d'amérique centrale, c'est incroyable la différence. Je sais pas si c'est dû à l'influence de la colonisation anglaise, mais ils sont très réservés (à part pour l'argent).
Les expatriés sont très peu nombreux (ce qui en soi n'est pas bon signe). J'ai rencontré une famille québecoise, ils voulaient partir et ils n'avaient pas l'air heureux, une restaurateur, content lui : il venait de vendre son restau en faisant une plus-value et revenait en France, un franco-italien glacier moyennement satisfait (à Placencia) qui se demandait s'il allait rester et un boulanger installé depuis un an à Cayo qui lui était très content.
Finalement, le seul coin que j'ai apprécié c'est Cayo, à la limite du Guate, de peuplement et de culture latino, donc bien différent du reste, de culture afro-anglaise.
Bref, sur les 200+ pays de la planète, nous nous sommes dit qu'il y avait mieux et nous sommes allés voir au Costa-Rica. Nous y sommes encore.

bonjour moi je vie avec ma copine au belize, dans un ptit village qui s appelle Sarteneja, ce village de pecheur de 2500 personnes situé au sud est, de la baie de Chetumal. ici c est pas trop touristique et bien, j ai acheté un terrain à 5 minutes de marche de la plage à tres bon prix($5000.us.) et j ai construit ma maison à peut de rraisain, il y a beaucoup de possibilité d affaire ici, si tu es travaillant, avec un métier comme boulanger, mécanicien, café internet ou autre métier manuel, tu peut ouvrir ta ptite entreprise, et tu as des bonne chance de réussite, au belize en tout ca, dans mon village les gens sont des pêcheur et pas trop débrouillard sur d autre chose, par manque de connaissance ou manque de formation, alors ca laisse une grande porte ouverte écrit moi our d autre info

de OtraTerra et il a sûrement raison sur plusieurs info, mais pas sur tout ça dépend toujours de ta personnalité de ce que tu recherche et ce que tu veut faire, si tu veut changer de vie et aller ailleurs faire des affaires et faire beaucoup d argent viens pas ici. va au panama et revivre dans pas grand temps, la meme vie qu’en France
ici c est fait pour des gens qui recherche, un autre genre de vie plutôt basé sur la simplicité, le retour au vrai valeur qui est la nature, ns sommes bien heureux ici, et ici les gens sont très sympathique et très gentil, et non ce n est pas le paradis et il y a des manquent et ce n est pas parfait mais c est parfait pour ns, et pour moi très dure à battre comme endroit ja parle bien entendue de mon village . ns avons pris des vacance au Guatemala, qui en passant est très bien mais pas pour y vivre je n aime pas les armes et surtout ceux qui les portes et la violence fait partie du quotidiens des guatémaltèque .
il y a d autre gens qui sont venu voir se qui se passait ici pour p-être s y installer, je vais être franc, je n aime pas perdre mon temps et faire perdre le temps des autres. Certain on aimé et d autre pas, il faut avoir un tempérament différent pour aimé ici c est vrai c est assez tranquille j aime mieux ça que d être dans un endroit ou les gens tente de refaire le même monde que chez eux. Va voir d autre discussion sur le Belize dans ce forum il y en a beaucoup et j en suis le signataire sous différent noms d emprunt, le forum me débranchait souvent parce que je faisait de la pub pour notre site de routard, alors maintenant je fait attention et ne glisse aucune pub.
Pour te dire, ceux qui souhaite venir ici : un couple de français vivant au île mayotte, un couple de guadeloupéens qui en n ont mare de vivre la bas, une femme qui vie en RD, qui veut quitter se monde de macho et de violence et d autres français vivant en France qui en ont mare de shark osé .bon a toi de voir

je suis entrain de construire une maison sur caye caulker au Belize , rapidement , je pense que votre femme peut s'instaler en tant que dentiste je suis moi même dentiste et j'ai vu que les dentistes venaient de different horizons US, Cuba...
pour votre travail un seul endroit ou il y a des bons hotels Ambergris Caye lieu de vilegiature des americains, par contre pour bien bouffer c'est un autre problème.
Pour la location d'une maison , il y a très peu d'oportunités et si vous voulez le bord de mer à moins d'etre à 100 km de tout village c'est très cher

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
