Il me semble difficile de budgeter un voyage, ou compte-tu loger et, comment te déplacer.
La Suisse doit etre le pays le plus cher d'Europe, la France, L'Allemagne, et l'Italie sont dans la moyenne, l'Espagne est sensiblement plus abordable.
Pour les budgets serrés, je conseille les anciens pays du pacte de Varsovie, ou l'ex-Yougoslovie.
Si je peux d'aider, n'hésite pas.

Arreter de tirer sur l'Euro SVP, le cout de la vie augmente, c'est dommage, mais c'est la meme chose dans tout les pays, j'ai été en Slovénie et en Croatie en 2002 et en 2003, sur un an les prix ont sensiblement augmentés, pourtant, ils ne font pas partie de la zone EURO.
Je pense que le Canada ne doit pas faire exception.
Et, n'oublier pas que vous pouvez voyager d'Helsinki à Palerme et de Lisbonne à Berlin sans frais de change.

Ce n'est probablement pas l'inflation chez nous qui pose un pb mais le cours actuel de l'Euro contre le $US et probablement le $ CND. Inversement quand on sort de la zone Euro pour aller dans la zone $, c'est 20% moins cher que d'habitude pour nous. Allez, tous en Amérique !😉

je t'écris car l'été dernier nous sommes partis à quatre en voiture pour l'Espagne (depuis Poitiers) et pour trois semaines. Nous avons fait du canyoning dans la Sierra de Guarra et avons dormi quasiment tout le temps sous des tentes (sauf à Huesca). A ma grande surprise (si l'on enléve les coûts pour le matos de sport) nous nous en sommes tirés pour moins de 1300 Francs chacun. On a beau dire l'espagne n'est pas si chere que ça car on a vraiment vadrouiller et consommer de l'essence.
Mais bon si tu part pour deux mois ça risque de changer pas mal de chose car nous avions en prévision quasiment tout ce qu'il nous fallait. Nous avons fait un unique ravitaillement à Huesca (dans un supermarché filiale de Auchan où les prix sont même un peu moins cher qu'en France) mais dans d'autres pays j'imagines que cela peut revenir un peu plus cher.
De plus si tu part seul là encore ton voyage risque de coûter plus cher. Tu ne prendra certainement pas une voiture pour faire ton périple et cela rajoute qq problèmes. Une fois une destination atteinte tu risque de devoir encore payer le bus ou le taxi pour bouger ....
L'été prochain on risque de remettre ça (ou qq chose dans le genre) pendant un mois et j'aimerai moi aussi profiter du deuxième mois pour me taper un petit périple seul en Europe. J'avais pensé à un système train (avec carte 12-25) + vélo pour ce qui est du déplacement et tente + camping ou auberge de jeunesse pour l'hébergement. J'avais fait un voyage en Irlande où nous avions uniquement dormi en auberge de jeunesse (on avait acheté une carte de réduction pour les auberges) et ma fois je crois me souvenir que l'hébergement était resté bon marché. Une autre solution que j'envisage pour encore réduire le coût serait d'utiliser les bus (style eurolines) mais bon je ne suis pas sur que l'on puisse se trimbaler un vélo la dedans sans payer une surtaxe effrayante. A voir...
Je suis donc aussi demandeur d'information sur les meilleurs plan pour partir seul en Europe à moindre frais et tout en pouvant se déplacer librement. Bien évidemment le confort de l'hébergement et du transport ne sont pas mes attentes premières.😉

Tout à fait d'accord avec toi, si l'on regarde les pays méditèranèens de l'euroland l'Espagne reste d'un point de vue financier et géographique une très bonne solution par rapport à la France et l'Italie, le Portugale est le moins chèr mais à 2000 ou 2500 bornes de Bruxelles ou Paris.
Au fait, ca fait 2 ans que employons l'euro, alors oublie tes vieux francs...

Tu n'est pas trop revenu sur le forum, mais quand meme je peux toujours te donner une idée de ce que moi j'ai fais il y a de ca presque 5 ans maintenant. Donc majoré a la hausse. J'avais acheté chez Tourisme Jeunesse (Montreal-Québec) une passe de train valide pour 2 pays (en espagne mieux vaut prendre le bus moins cher, plus rapide que le train, plus accessible). Il y a la possibilité de prendre le nombre de pays que tu veux pour 3 mois maximun a l'époque je crois que ca m'avais couter quelques chose comme 200 dollards can. Pour 5 jours de train illimité. J'ai fait en deux mois et demi la France, la BlackForest en Allemagne, l'Espagne et j'ai fini par 10 jours au Maroc qui n'étais pas prévu au départ. Deux semaines sur Paris a 32$can par jour pour la chambre dans Montmartre. C'étais un tres bon prix a l'époque parce que sur Paris ca coute la peau du cul, et l'auberge de jeunesse du louvre est completement pourri (Comme la pluspart des auberges en france d'ailleur). Pour la bouffe jamais de grand resto, petite truc dans la rue abordable. Je te dirais que sur Paris je devais environ dépenser 50 a 60 $ par jour y compris la chambre en profitant des rabais sur les musées et des bonnes occasse trouvé dans le ... j'ai un blanc de mémoire mais je suis sur qu'un francais pourra te donner le nom de ce petit journal qui sort chaque semaine. Je suis ensuite allez en Alsace une semaine mais la j'étais loger alors on oublie. En Allemagne Black Forest 4 jours meme chose. Je suis ensuite descendu dans le sud de la France ou j'ai eu la chance de rencontré deux Québecoise qui avait louer une auto. J'ai payé l'essence et on a fait Carcassonne et les pyrénés jusqu'en Espagne. Je dirais que chambre compris avec l'essence ca devait me couter environ 40 $ par jour. L'espagne ca c'est plus flou et c'est surement la que les prix on le plus augmenter. Mais de Barcelone a Grenada je te dirais que ca devais me couter entre 30 et 50$ par jour. La seule auberge que j'ai faite (toutes les autres était pleine par la suite toujours réservé d'avance en espagne) étais a Gandia, 5 $ par jour je crois petit dej compris, on achetais la bouffe au supermaché. Cé la que ca nous as couter le moins cher si on compte pas l'alcool ingurgité a flot!!!!!😉 Ensuite ce fut le Maroc. Dérisoire comparé au reste. J'habite maintenant en Suisse. Et je dirais comme précisé plus haut c'est surement la que c'est le plus cher, meme si l'Italie est pas loin derriere. Cette été j'ai fais le tour de la Suisse en voiture., en camping et je dirais que les terrain nous coutaint environ 30 FSuisse (meme taux de change ou a peu pres que le $can) pour deux. Les logements sont cher en Suisse. Sur Lausanne l'Auberge coute 30 FS la nuit si je me souviens bien. Mais l'italie est cher aussi, mais tu peux t'en sauver en mangeant plus facilement dans la rue qu'en Suisse (suisse dans la rue Kebab et falafel). Les chambres d'hotel sont a des prix exorbitant et il faut comme en Espagne réserver a l'avance surtout en période touristique. Sur Rome l'idéal partager les frais avec d'autre rencontré sur la route et louer un petit studio ca vaut le coup. Pour l'Allemagne désolé pas de bon plans j'ai toujours été loger partout ou je suis allez.... Je te dirais qu'en voyageant avec un budget minimun sans te payer de luxe et sans compter ton billet de train du départ tu dois au moins compter 50$ par jour, Si je me souviens bien c'étais mon budget pour deux mois en comptant mon billet de train de départ, il y a 5 ans. Voila j'espere que ca aidera un petit peu., ...

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included. Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time. I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right? - Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?
On the way back, if we have a little time to explore Bern’s historic old town, what’s the best parking plan for a 1- or 2-hour stop?

I’ve found some great deals on flights to two destinations: Menorca in the Balearic Islands and Alghero in Sardinia.
The flights would take us from Bordeaux to Menorca on the evening of 9/07 and return to Bordeaux in the evening on 13/07. Or to Alghero very early on 10/07 (departure at 6 AM) and return in the mid-afternoon on 13/07. We love beautiful landscapes, the sea, snorkeling, walks (hiking), and the charm of villages. We want to spend some quality time as a couple without our kids and mix discovery with relaxation.
I can’t make up my mind. The transport costs are roughly the same when you factor in parking for Sardinia since the early departure means no public transport from home.
We’ve never been to Menorca, Sardinia, or Italy at all. I’ve been to Majorca, though. Menorca would be 4 nights and 4 days, while Alghero would be 3 nights and 2.5 days. Also, what itinerary would you recommend for Alghero and Menorca? Where to stay?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.

In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

The Vatican: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel in the morning. Afternoon: St. Peter’s Basilica, the dome, and if possible, the necropolis.
Wednesday 23:
Morning: Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Afternoon: Trastevere neighborhood and the Monumento a Garibaldi.
Thursday 24:
Piazza Navona, Church of St. Louis of the French, the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, Trevi Fountain.
Friday 25:
Villa Borghese, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Quirinale, Piazza della Repubblica, and Santa Maria degli Angeli.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions: Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential... Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day? Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
