tout le monde en est informe sauf les professionnels du tourisme et autres ministeres concernes sur place ........... attendons que ca sorte au grand jour et ecrit officiellement et surtout confirme par le Ministere de l'interieur Egyptien et accepte par le Ministere du tourisme ........ pour l'instant et apres toutes ces rumeurs sur facebook et sites de consulats Egyptiens a l'Etranger RIEN mais ABSOLUMENT RIEN sur place en Egypte a ce sujet

Ce ne serait pas une mesure très intelligente ! déjà que l'Egypte n'a plus beaucoup de touristes , cela découragera un peu plus les bonnes volontés!

si c'est pour la securite pourquoi pas - a l'heure actuelle certains touristes entrent en Egypte avec une simple carte d'identite - un passeport biometrique donne des renseignements (et meme bien plus que l'on pense) mais une CNI rien ........ les controles a l'arrivee sont plus que minimes

Bonjour , hélas , ce n'est pas une rumeur , le ministre des affaires étrangères Egyptien a confirmé , la suppression de l'obtention du visa à l'arrivée en Egypte pour les voyageurs individuels , ce qui est mon cas (à partir du 15 mai).
Lorsqu'on habite en province , il faudra donc aller à Paris ou envoyer son passeport par courrier avec les risques que cela comporte (comme pour les visas pour l'Inde , passeport égaré une fois dans leur ambassade).
Plus la possibilité d'acheter son billet du jour pour le lendemain .
Je pense que ce n'est pas une bonne mesure , l'Egypte a besoin de touristes !

j'attends, en tant que professionnelle du tourisme, un ECRIT du Ministere des affaires etrangeres et/ ou du ministere de l'interieur - il n'y a eu aucune concertation a ce sujet et ce genre de decision ne peut etre unilaterale ........ donc je fais comme St Thomas je ne crois que ce que je vois

il y a deja eu une telle tentative en 2011 qui n'a pas vu le jour les professionnels du tourisme ayant montre les dents!

Espérons que cette décision ne sera pas appliquée telle quelle. Je peux comprendre l'aspect sécuritaire de la décision;mais si quelqu'un a de mauvaises intentions, facile de s'intégrer à un groupe de touristes.
Cela pénalisera les familles d'Egyptiens vivant en Europe ou Amérique du Nord qui ont un autre passeport, mais plus de passeport égyptien. Plus moyen d'accourir au chevet d'un proche malade ou de décider d'un voyage à la dernière minute.
Le cas aussi pour les habitués de l'Egypte, ex-expat ou passionnés d'archéologie, qui n'ont pas forcément la chance d'habiter à proximité d'un consulat ou n'ont pas envie d'envoyer leur passeport par la poste.
Et si on parle sécurité, pourquoi ne pas exiger un passeport biométrique pour tous (groupes et individuels) à l'arrivée et apposer un visa?
Bref, je connais perso déjà une personne qui renoncera à son voyage si la décision perdure.
Je reconnais aussi que beaucoup d'Egyptiens qui galèrent pour avoir un visa pour l'Europe nous trouvent bien mal placés pour réclamer....

Je persiste à penser qu'à l'heure où le tourisme en Egypte traverse une grave crise depuis plusieurs années , cette mesure ne va pas arranger les choses!
Si c'est une question de sécurité , peut-être le passeport biométrique aurait suffi..

Cette nouvelle réglementation ne permettra plus de partir soudainement , en voyant une promotion sur des billets d'avion !

En tout cas, il y a une réunion au Caire aujourd'hui sur ce sujet, on devrait en savoir plus prochainement.
Beaucoup "d'habitués " de voyages fréquents ou impromptus en Egypte seront touchés par la mesure. On peut toujours demander un visa (plus ou moins facilement), mais pourquoi? Ce serait mieux d'exiger un passeport biométrique pour tous les visiteurs.
Et puis pour ceux qui voyagent fréquemment en Egypte et qui habitent la Province , les frais de demande de visa seront bien supérieurs aux 25 dollars demandés actuellement (frais de déplacement à Paris ou frais d'envoi en recommandé du passeport !)
Avec les temps d'attente !

je suis tout a fait d'accord que l'Egypte a besoin de touristes mais elle doit egalement faire le tri des personnes qui rentrent sur son territoire - avec la carte d'identite impossible d'avoir des renseignements ''pointus'' sur la personne comme pour le passeport biometrique. Je pense que la solution la moins ''brusque'' serait dans un premier temps de suprimer la possibilite d'entrer sur le territoire aux detenteurs de carte d'identite et par contre pas de problemes pour les detenteurs de passeport biometrique.... Des discussions sont en cours avec les professionnels du tourisme sur place en Egypte attendons de ce qui va etre decide

Mais quand on est en province , il faut se déplacer à Paris avec les couts que cela entraine ou l'envoyer par la poste en recommandé aller et retour 'avec risque de perte ; c'est ce qui m'est arrivé pour mon premier voyage en 1983 en Egypte : le consulat à Paris avait perdu mon passeport....Depuis je passe par un spécialiste des passeports en payant cher ce service !
Alors le petit voyage inopiné d"une semaine ou 10 jours c'est fini pour moi pour les pays où il faut faire le visa à Paris
Quant on est individuel , tout ce qu'on dépense sur place va directement aux Egyptiens et pas aux voyagistes.Ce n'est pas une clientèle méprisable et c'est celle qui revient plusieurs fois !
Ceux qui font leur croisière d'une semaine via Marmara ou autre , à long terme, ne sont pas si rentables ....Généralement , ils en restent là

ce n'est quand meme pas frequent qu'un passeport se perd et c'est vrai que c'est l'angoisse de l'envoyer. Ce n'est malheureusement pas une fausse rumeur, ils ont bel et bien prévus un visa avant leur arrivée, pour les voyageurs, essentiellement des pays occidentaux et ce pour "des raisons de sécurité".
Je viens de lire qu'ils ont reporté la mise en rigueur de cette décision (sans fixer de nouvelle échéance) jusqu’à ce qu'ils améliorent leur système de traitement des visas, car en ce moment ils ne disposent pas d'un système électronique de traitement des demandes de visas entre l'Egypte et ses consulats.

Cette décision n'est pas du tout bénéfique pour le tourisme Égyptien je confirme, mais c'est une mesure de sécurité qui pourra leurs éviter des coups pouvant carrément ruiner le tourisme. Oublions pas que le pays viens de vivre une révolution, un coup d'état, et ce trouve dans une zone sensible, ...
sinon il reste les voyagent en groupes organisés, j'ai entendu dire qu'ils vont pouvoir obtenir des visas à l'arrivée sans problèmes.
Vous aviez raison , lors de vos premiers commentaires , la mesure est reportée ;je m'en réjouis .
Je repars jeudi vers l'Egypte , et je paierai avec un large sourire les 25 $ pour obtenir directement mon visa.

Le soleil n est pas que en Égypte .fort heursement . J airais jamais fair une visa pour emmener ma famille une semaine de vacance ou bord de la mer !!!
Et de tout fason le tourisme il est en train de mourir de plus en plus la bas j était entrain de lire les commentaires des Client des hotel 4 et 5 étoile sur la mer rouge ( Hilton marriot ) pour ne cité q eux et sa m a étonner et refroidis .. voulant juger ( par principe) par moi meme cette histoir de visa ma fais définitivement changer d avis et voilà 4 touristes de moin pour l egypte et 4 touristes de plus pour le cap vert !!! C est la même température en mois de mai juin ... Pour nous qui cherche que le soleil et les plages ... Bon courage à nos frère et Ami égyptien qui vivais du tourisme .. Les mesures de sécurité une visa ne change rien .. A l époque d internet il ya le modèle americain et australien avec ESTA ..si vraiment il veule juste savoir d avance qui vien .. Mais me fair déplacer a Paris pour 2 jours pour fair une visa dans une ambassade non merci .. Et surtout pouvoir acheter mes vol de dernier minute et réserver mon hotel et partir quand je veux en 24 h n est plus possible avec le systèmes de visa ..
Pour l'instant, le visa n'est pas requis avant d'arriver, donc pourquoi ne pas en profiter?

J'explique ma situation, ma fille et sa petite famille viennent de partir vivre en Polynésie plus précisément sur île de Raiatea.Bon très bien, bien sûr avec mon épouse nous allons leurs rendre visite , mais voilà les vols passant par les états unis nous pose problème car nous nous sommes rendus à Cuba, je pense qu'il nous faut donc un visa.

I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist! But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point. I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing! In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing! I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me! If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry. This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea? Thanks for the info! We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?
