J1 – Arrivée à Manille vers 15h30 ==è Installation dans un hôtel situé dans le quartier de Makati
Si je ne dis pas de bêtises, il est conseillé d’emprunter de préférence un taxi de couleur blanc qui correspond à la compagnie officielle à Manille, c’est bien ça ?
J2 – Visite de Manille ==è Eglise St Augustin / Eglise Binodo / Eglise Malate / Paco Park / Cimetière Chinois / Robinson Mall …D’autres idées et conseils ?
Réservation des billets d’autocars pour se rendre dans le nord (Quartier Sampaloc)
Plusieurs compagnies existent pour un départ à partir de 22h , Florida et Oyahami proposent des bus un peu plus confortable d’après ce que j’ai pu lire.
J3 – Arrivée à Banaue entre 7h et 8h. Pour nous rendre à Sagada, nous devons prendre 1 minivan jusqu’à Bontoc (1h30) puis prendre une Jeepney pour arriver à Sagada.
Visite de Sagada et recherche d’un hotel. La réservation d’un hôtel en avance ne semble pas nécessaire d’après ce que nous avons pu lire, toujours d'actualité?
J4 – Visite de la grotte de Lumiang / Cercueils Sugong / si nous avons le temps, la grotte de Sumaging pour une petite expédition avec un guide(Big cave).
J5 – Départ pour Batad (Jeepney jusqu’à Bontoc puis 1 autre jusqu’à Batad) Visite, recherche d’un hôtel et recherche d’un guide auprès de l’office du tourisme pour préparer un petit treck de 2 jours.
Une recommandation sur un guide en particulier à l'office du tourisme?
J6 et 7 - Treck dans les rizières et villages de montagne.Une idée des tarifs pratiqués?
J8 – Départ pour Banaue et visite de la ville / achat des billets pour retour à Manille le soir même.
J9 – Arrivé Tôt à Manille (entre 7 et 8h) / Direction l’aéroport pour prendre un avion avec la compagnie Cebu Pacific jusqu’à Puerto Princessa . Arrivée dans l’après-midi / Recherche d’un hôtel ou vaut-il mieux en réserver en amont ?
J’ai vu que nous pouvions réserver les billets d’avion en avance avec quelques comparateurs de vol comme Liligo (environ 35 € l’aller p/personne).
J10 - Direction Sabang en Jeepney (environ 2h15) / Monkey Trail / Jungle Trail / Underground rivière si nous avons le temps.
J11 / 12 / 13 / 14 – Direction Port Barton en Bus 1h ou bateau 3h. Nous resterons 4 jours pour y faire du Island Hopping et de la rando (Papaywan Falls). Comme précédemment est-il nécessaire de réserver un hôtel en avance ? Si oui nous sommes preneurs de bonnes adresses à quelques pas de la mer ce serait un plus (sauf resort J)
J15 / 16 / 17 / 18 / 19 / 20 ==è Nous resterons 6 jours à El Nido pour un peu de détente / Island Hopping / Rando / Location de moto.Nous souhaiterions faire une petite croisière avec Nativ exploration de 2 jours aux dernières nouvelles cela coûtait environ 150 € /personne pour les deux jours est-ce toujours d’actualité ? Concernant les hôtels deux noms ressortent régulièrement, La Salangane et le Bulskamp, vos avis ou conseils ?
J21 – Journée consacrée au trajet El Nido - Puerto Princessa
J22 – Départ pour Manille en avion ==è Shopping et massage / Spa (des adresses sympa ?)
J23 – Départ Direction Tokyo pour quelques jours avant un retour sur Paris.
En synthèse nous sommes à la recherche d'adresses testées et approuvées par les membres du forum ainsi que quelques conseils si notre programme semble bancale ou irréalisable sans prendre le temps de découvrir ces régions.
Salut, il vaut mieux aller a Baguio en bus(confortable), puis reprendre un bus pour Sagada le matin, Pas besoin de reserver une chambre a Sagada restez au moins 3 jours, pas mal de balades a faire...Moins touristique que Banaue mais plus sympa.
Puis aller a Banaue, faire votre trek, puis retour a Manille...Vaut mieux faire cette boucle pour les paysages(route Baguio-Sagada, magnifique)plutot que faire 2 X le
meme trajet.Achetez directement votre vol chez Cebu Pacific ou Philippines Airlines
pour Puerto Princesa.

Merci pour ces précieux conseils, donc en résumé il faut prendre un bus de nuit, toujours à Sampaloc pour se rendre à Baguio en environ 12h et reprendre dans la foulée un second bus direction Sagada environ 6h?.
Puis continuer la boucle vers Batad et finir par Banaue pour y faire notre treck.
Je pensais que le treck était plus sympa et moins touristique du coté de Batad.
Encore merci comme quoi les quelques heures de lecture consacrées aux Philippines, ne remplacerons jamais l'expérience du voyageur 😉
Non.il y a des dizaines de bus de jour qui vont de Manille (Pasay) a Baguio, ordinaires,
AirCon et Deluxe(tres confortables), les Deluxe mettent 5h, car autoroute special, les autres,6h!Les derniers partent vers 22h.Les bus qui partent vers Sagada partent vers 7h et mettent 6-7h, prenez un siege cote gauche pour profiter du panorama!
Banaue et Batad sont tres touristiques.Je prefere de loin Sagada, plus cool.

Donc nous devons nous rendre en avance dans le quartier de Pasay pour prendre un ticket chez la compagnie Victory Liner.
Si nous partons au cours de la journée, une nuit à Baguio est obligatoire je suppose puisque le prochain bus est le lendemain aux alentours de 7h.
Pour refaire une petite parenthèse sur le treck, il vaut mieux le faire à Banaue qu'a Batad du coup?
Concernant le retour vers Manille, le départ se fait bien à partir de Banaue? Est il conseillé de réserver un ticket de car en avance?
Non, pas besoin d'aller en avance au terminal-bus de Pasay, vous prenez votre billet et dans la foulee vous partez...Oui, il vaudrait mieux passer une nuit a Baguio et
prendre votre bus le lendemain matin pour Sagada, prenez votre billet en avance et
surtout du cote gauche dans le bus.Batad est a 12km de Banaue, laisser votre bagage a votre hotel et faites votre trek a Batad, vous y dormez une nuit(dans le
village, c'est mieux), puis vous continuez vers Bangan, puis jeep pour Banaue...
Oui, vaut mieux prendre votre ticket de bus le matin pour repartir le soir vers Manille.

Je me permet de re déterrer mon post, notre organisation a bien évoluée en tenant compte des conseils des un et des autres.Nous ne devons pas être très loin du circuit définitif cf notre planning en image avec plusieurs notes au brouillon.
Simplement on se tate à louer une voiture à Manille pour se rendre dans le Nord avec Europcar.Sujet rarement évoqué sur le forum (il doit y avoir une raison!).
Notre programme est un peu indécis à partir de Palawan, l'avantage de ne pas réserver d'hotel à l'avance nous donnera le choix de rester plus longtemps à Port Barton par exemple.
Nous avons également réservé une traversée El Nido - Coron avec Nativ Exploration du 14 au 18 Mars (il reste de la place pour les interressés :).
Si sur El Nido et Port Barton, si vous avez de bonnes adresses de resto / hotels / bangka et location de moto ou scooter, je suis preneur.
Je deconseille la location de voiture pour visiter le centre-nord.Il y a de bon bus.
Il y a un loueur de motos au centre de El Nido.Un bon restau:Le Salongane.

d'accord avec toi, je ne visiterais pas le nord luzon en voiture !
en revanche, la salangane, oui pourquoi pas mais un repas dans ce resto c'est quand même le prix d'une nuit d’hôtel à port barton ! de toutes les façons, à el nido tout est très cher par rapport aux autres endroits !

d'accord avec toi quand on est depuis 3 ans aux philippines😉, mais pour 3 semaines loin de la france, ils peuvent se passer de gastronomie ! pas loin de 600 p le menu, ça fait beaucoup, 12 sans miguel, et même plus à port barton !

En voyage de noces, on ne se refuse pas un bon steak 😉 Même en 3 semaines (nous, ça peut nous tenter en 2ème semaine. Mon compagnon, souvent dès la première 😄)

ok ! pour ma part, en dehors du fait que je peux me passer de steak, de vin, de camembert, de baguette et même de béret pendant 3 semaines, je refuse de dépenser pour un repas, et par personne, le salaire d'une semaine de bonne à tout faire dans un pays où 25 millions de personnes au moins ont moins de 1 dollar par jour pour vivre.

J'ai une adresse de salon de massage à Manille que j'ai adoré Spa Wellness au centre commercial Greenbelt1, 25€ par personne, c'est assez chic, ambiance cosy, tamisé, dans une pièce pour 2. On n'a fait qu'une heure de massage malheureusement comme nous avions à prendre notre avion pour Paris. Sinon à faire la veille, l'établissement ferme vers 22h/23h.

Merci. Je débute dans le blogging. J'ai utilisé OVH pour mon blog de voyage. Il existe aussi un autre hébergeur 1&1.
Ça ne fait qu'un mois que je l'utilise et 2 jours qu'il est en ligne. Donc pour l'instant, l'hébergement OVH me convient.
Un petit déterrage de post pour notre départ dans deux semaines.😉
Nous avons encore quelques interrogations.
Lors de notre retour de Banaue vers Manille, le retour est prévu vers 4h30 - 5h du matin et notre avion pour Puerto Princessa est prévu le jour même à 15h30.
Connaîtriez vous un hôtel que l'on pourrait occuper à l'heure pour se reposer et prendre une petite douche, on ne se voit pas se balader toute la journée sur Manille avec notre valise.
A la fin de notre séjour au Phils, nous repartons de L'aéroport de Manille a 5h30 soit une très courte nuit. Nous recherchons un hôtel très proche de l'aéroport avec navette de nuit ponctuelle😉 ou au pire un peu plus éloigné mais avec ce service.

Les motels Sogo me semblent une bonne alternative, j'en ai repéré un vers le Mall Of Asia, reste à savoir si un réceptionniste sera présent à 5h du matin.
Pour les motels proche de l'aéroport il y en a effectivement quelques uns mais j'ai du mal à en trouver qui font navette au beau mileu de la nuit.Ce serait ballot de louper notre avion pour ça.
Bonjour , tu as le Manila Airport Hotel près du terminal 1 avec ce service mais 2800 pesos la nuit ...Cela fait 2 fois que je le prends cher pour le coup mais ça me rassure .. J'ai souvent mon vol à 6:30 donc je me lève tot et l'inconvenient c'est que tu ne peux pas prendre le petit déjeuner dans l'hotel mais dans le snack ouvert toute la nuit juste à coté .. poulet et riz à 4h30 du mat c'est chaud 🙂

On est tombé amoureux de ce pays aussi bien pour sa beauté que pour la simplicité et la gentillesse des locaux.
Petite dédicace à Bikorchild qui m'a gentiment gardé ma bouteille de champagne au frais et préparé un super kinilaw pour fêter nos 2 années de mariage au Miam Miam Glou Glou.

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We’re heading to Vietnam as a family on July 8th for a little over 3 weeks (north and center). We’ve only booked the first 3 nights in Hanoi, and nothing else after that. We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. What do the experts here think? And which website can we use to book the tickets? Thanks in advance for your tips!

Sandakan → Sepilok:
No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??
Sandakan → Semporna:
From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?

No online booking, as far as I can tell.
Minivans leave from a stop in the Jalan Hospital area, near the Milimewa supermarket, supposedly????

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.

• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
