Could you give me some info about organizing layovers on our own in: Antigua, Barbados, Roseau, Grenada, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Tortola, Tobago, St. Martin What currency should we use? Can we pay with a bank card or a Revolut card, or do we need dollars? Thanks so much!

Euros are accepted almost everywhere, but they’re used at a rate of 1 € = $1, which isn’t favorable. For planning your stopovers, you can find info on my blog https://escalescroisiere.fr/

Thanks for your reply! For our Caribbean cruise, do we only need US dollars and euros? When organizing our own stopovers, do taxis or buses have terminals to pay by card, or do we need cash? Have you been to Virgin Gorda/Tortola? Our stopover is from 8 AM to 6 PM—is that enough time to explore without stressing about the all-aboard call? Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

For Virgin Gorda, check the sea shuttle schedules at https://www.bviferries.com For taxis, cash is a must. Credit cards are only accepted in tourist shops.
