Cet organisme a l'air réputé. Je dois partir avec eux en septembre, j'espère qu'il n'y aura pas de mauvaises surprises surtout au niveau de la qualité des cours dispensés. Je ne vais pas suivre des cours d'anglais classiques mais des cours spécialisés pour les affaires internationales, à NY. Je fais ensuite un stage en entreprise.
Quelqu'un a-t-il ou connait-il quelqu'un ayant voyagé un an par cet organisme??
Oui, moi, j'ai étudié pendant un été à EF London (UK) il y a quelques années. Aussi, un de mes amis y est allé pendant 9 mois mais à l'école de Miami, en Floride. Et une copine Turque est allée un été à EF Californie.
Les cours dispensés sont de très bonne qualité, les profs sont qualifiés, bref, rien à redire côté enseignement.
Pour l'hébergement, si tu es en famille d'acceuil, bien les familles sont bien choisies mais comme partout tu peux tomber sur une famille moins bien ou simplement avec laquelle tu as peu d'affinités. Si c'est le cas tu vas voir un employé de EF ils sont toujours à l'écoute quand tu as besoin d'aide.

et bien, j'ai 21 ans mais ça n'en fait pas une moyenne pour autant. Quel âge as-tu pour te trouver jeune? Les départs pour un an se font à parti de 18 ans donc je pense qu'il y a un peu tous types d'âge...
Il n'y a pas d'âge pour vivre ses rêves.. J'ai 21 ans et je partirai vers 23 ans ou p-e avant ( tout depend la tournure des événemens :p ).

Je vais loger en résidence EF (directement sur le campus).
Pour le stage, c'est eux qui te le trouvent normalement mais je compte bien avoir mon mot à dire! lol J'ai déjà fait beaucoup de stages pendant mes études en france et je travaille actuellement en agence de publicité à Paris, donc je compte bien faire valoir mon expérience. Ils vont donc me trouver un stage dans les médias comme je leur ai demandé.
Pour le budget je fais un emprunt de 13 000 euros auquel vient s'ajouter un apport personnel de 4000 euros. (merci les économies!!! c'est dur mais ça paye!!)
Mon école coute 17 000 pour l'année(nourriture en pension complète, chambre SEULE cours et stage compris).
Après j'ai prévu une marge de 3000 euros pour mes loisirs tout en sachant que je vais essayer de me trouver un petit job pour ne pas avoir à trop compter l'argent.
Je sais par exemple que quand tu étudies sur la côte ouest il te proposent un voyage sur la cote Est pendant les vacances de mars (1 semaine) et inversement. Donc si j'ai envie de profiter de ça aussi, j'ai calculé un bon budget en plus. (d'où les 3000 euros)
Bref, le budget est un calcul minutieux pour ne manquer de rien une fois sur place (car le visa étudiant américain, contrairement à d'autres, ne permet pas de travailler ou alors uniquement ponctuellement et sur ton campus.
Tu as raison de te poser beaucoup de question, c'est un grand départq qui va changer ta vie (dixit toutes les personnes qui l'ont fait avant moi lol).
Si ça t'intéresse, je reviendrai régulièrement sur ce post (et ce forum bien sur!) mais je vais ouvrir un blog dédié à mon voyage un mois avant mon départ, tu pourras suivre mes aventure 😉s...

Oui je compte partir à New-York aussi. Je voulais partir plus tôt mais je suis indépendant et je gagne trop bien ma vie pour cracher dessus et puis à 23 ans c'est pas trop tard :) ! J'y vais 9 mois pour le stage et la même année d'étude que toi et puis on verra ce qui se passe, si je trouve un job là-bas (p-e immigrer..). Pour ma part j'ai une entreprise de construction ( je suis bachelier en construction ), j'espère qu'il y a de la demande dans ce domaine.

Je connais quelqu'un qui partie l'année dernière avec cet organisme à boston et à Los Angeles. D'aprés elle les cours sont pas après il faut faire attention de ne pas trop rester avec les francais pour profiter au mieux du séjour.

Moi j'ai eu trop de problèmes avec EF pour avoir mon formulaire I-20, ils ont fait n'importe quoi, j'ai mis plu2 mois avant de la recevoir, du coup j'ai pris pas mal de retard sur le visa. J'ai RDV le 26 juin à l'ambassade.
Il faut vraiment tout vérifier avec EF. Ils ont tendance à oublier les choses fafilement et à se tromper!
Sinon le RDV rien de bien méchant. Il faut savoir que tu ne peux rentrer avec personne, donc si quelqu'un t'accompagne il attendra dehors.
Justement si quelqu'un t'accompagne confie lui tout ce que tu as : bouteille d'eau, sac, téléphone, MP3, sinon tu vas passer 3h à la sécurité.
Et après, une fois à l'intérieur, t'as plus qu'à être patiente... une heure, parfois deux heures d'attente.
Je me risque a écrire même si le post date d'il y a quelques mois déjà :) Je pars aussi a New York le 25 septembre pour étudier les affaires internationales ! Par contre savez vous s'il y a beaucoup de français sur place ? C'est ce que je crains le plus, retrouver beaucoup de français la bas :s EF m'a dit qu'il y avait 140 nationalités sur le campus mais bon...Voila c'est tout :) Sinon j'espère que vous êtes prêt(es), il nous que 3 petites semaines 😉

Pour les français, parait-il qu'à NY on n'est pas majoritaires contrairement à EF Miami par exemple.
Mais je pense qu'il y en aura pas mal quand même. De toutes façons c'est à nous après de ne pas rester trop ensemble pour parler l'anglais un maximum.
Pius les classes sont faites par rapport à ton niveau d'anglais. On passe un test le vendredi je crois.
Il faudra qu'on s'organise un meeting le jeudi ou le vendredi de notre arrivée ça pourrait être sympa! Je discute avec une autre personne qui part à NY elle aussi mais pas en affaires internationales.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
