Bonjour, j'ai 17 ans et je souhaiterais partir aux USA. Connaissez vous un endroit (site, forum, ..) où je pourrais trouver une famille qui accepterais de me loger et me nourrir contre un travail a faire (dans une ferme où autre). J'ai vraiment envie de découvrir cette culture et je n'ai pas envie de partir avec un groupe de 'fils à papa' qui va me couter 2000€ pour deux semaine.
Je n'ai vraiment aucune préférence de lieu où de type de famille , travail. J'ai juste envie de découvrir une nouvelle culture.

Je voulais dire bien sûr que le consulat américain allait bien sûr "rejeter" le dossier.
Quant à bosser en échange du gîte et du couvert, c'est assimilé par les autorités américaines comme un emploi et donc soumis au permis de travail alors oublie tout simplement.

C'est ce que j'ai dit, on peut partir au pair mais à noter qu'il faut tout de même avoir au moins 18 ans et aussi avoir le permis de conduire.
Oui il faut avoir 18 ans, mais si elle a 17 ans aujourd'hui, elle ne devrait pas tarder à avoir ses 18... le temps de faire les démarches déja il faut compter minimum 3 mois... Si elle a vraiment envie de vivre cette expérience, je ne pense pas qu'elle soit à quelques mois près.
Et non le permis n'est pas obligatoire dans tous les organismes, ceci dit, il est préférable de l'avoir car les transport en commun la bas ne sont pas développé autant qu'en France (à moins de se trouver vraiment au coeur d'une ville, mais la encore, ça dépend de la ville..)

Si, depuis quelques mois, le permis de conduire est obligatoire dans toutes les agences.
Depuis le début de la crise aux USA, il y a beaucoup plus de jeunes qui veulent partir que de familles qui prennent des au pair. Les jeunes sans permis avaient de plus en plus de mal à trouver des familles. Les organismes exigent donc maintenant le permis de conduire. Tu vas sur le site de STS "le permis de conduire est désormais obligatoire".
D'autre part, il faut de l'expérience avec les enfants. anti007 est un homme, donc il lui faut le BAFA en plus.... et je ne sais pas si c'est tout à fait ce qu'il recherche....

J'ai un grand oncle (c'est peut etre pas un grand oncle mais bon...) qui vit en Floride mais je ne l'ai vu qu'une fois quand il est venu nous voir en Belgique. Je vais essayer de prendre contact avec lui. Quels demarches administratives dois je faire pour aller le voir (17 ans) non accompagner.
Je suis tres debrouillard et je parle le francais et l'anglais parfaitement donc pas de soucis.

C'est vrai qu'on a tendance à "conseiller" d'aller au pair mais bon, tout le monde n'est pas disposé à partir ainsi. C'est tout de même un travail et bien sûr il faut de l'expérience et aimer les enfants et savoir s'en occuper et aussi les familles ont des exigences et c'est normal. Moi même, je ne prendrais pas n'importe qui pour vivre chez moi et s'occuper de mes enfants. Autrement dit, au pair n'est pas pour tout le monde.
Donc, dans ton cas, tu présentes ton "cas" au consulat américain et voilà. Tu y vas pour la durée de validité de ton statut "touriste" et ça ira :)

Déjà, si en Belgique c'est comme en France, il te faudra une attestation de sortie du territoire (voir avec autorités belges) et ensuite adresse-toi DIRECTEMENT au consulat américain car eux, ils sauront évidemment mieux te renseigner que nous tous.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
