Mon employeur m'a proposé un poste à Freiburg im Breisgau que j'ai accepté.
Ma femme va donc quitter son job pour que nous nous installions en Alsace. Et oui, ne parlant ni l'un ni l'autre un mot d'allemand, on a décidé de s'installer en Alsace dans un premier temps et je ferai le trajet matin et soir en voiture sur Freiburg. Nous privilégions une installation à Strasbourg.
QUelqu'un peut-il me dire si le trajet Strasbourg - Freiburg est envisageable matin et soir, sachant que je souhaiterai maxi 1 heure de trajet. Pouvez-vous aussi me conseiller sur les quartiers à privilégier sur Strasbourg pour notre petite famille?
je ne vous le conseille pas. Les alentours de Strasbourg se transforment en gigantesque bouchon le matin et le soir. Viamichelin indique une heure de route, mais c'est aux heures creuses.
Si vous avez prévu de rester plusieurs années, vous devriez envisager d'habiter en Allemagne, ce qui fait que votre fils serait parfaitement bilingue, un véritable atout dans la vie. Fribourg passe pour une ville très agréable. Si votre femme ne travaille pas, il lui sera plus facile d'aller en France aux heures creuses que vous, à l'heure de pointe.
Si vous ne voulez vraiment pas habiter en Allemagne, choisissez Colmar, petite ville agréable et moins loin.

Je vis actuellement à stuttgart depuis 2 ans car mon mari a trouvé un boulot ici.
Nous avons vécu 5 ans à strasbourg puis 4 ans en région parisienne puis stuttgart.
Lorsque nous habitions à strasbourg il a fait les aller-retour Strasbourg-freiburg pdt 1 an. A l'epoque, il mettait en 30 min et 45 min, mais c'etait en 1999.. J'utilise encore régulierement la A5 qui est l'autoroute qui fait Kalsruhe -> vers la suisse pour aller à strasbourg. C'est vrai qu'elle a éte pas mal en travaux ce qui a engendré de gros bouchons, mais les travaux sont presque finis, et les troncons sont souvent illimités...
J'ai connu deux autres couples qui ont fonctionnés comme ca entre 1 an et 2 ans, mais c'est vrai que si c'est pour du long terme mieux vaut peut-etre penser à s'installer en Allemagne.
Personnellement, je "reve" de retourner à Strasbourg. C'est une super ville et ta femme s'y plaira rapidement...
Sinon, l'expatriation et surtout l'intégration en allemagne n'est pas une chose facile ( je parle pour une femme "au Foyer" avec des enfants ne parlant pas l'allemand), et ce n'est pas juste moi qui le dit mais une étude.... (zut du coup je trouve plus l'etude en question pour mettre le lien).
Mais il est vrai que Freiburg est différent.. de Stuttgart. C'est une petite ville mais très hétéroclyte, avec beaucoup d'étranger, et la plupart des francais que j'ai connu et qui ont vécu la-bas, en garde un très bon souvenir.
J'ai d'ailleurs une copine, qui après avoir vécue (et surtout dépérie) à Magburg, est ravie d'etre maintenant à Freiburg.
Alors la, je me rends compte que finalement je t'aide pas trop à choisir, mais en ce qui concerne les enfants, c'est sur que c'est une chance pour eux d'etre bilingue... Mon fils qui avait 5 ans en arrivant ici, a appris l'allemand en 4 mois !
Je savais t'as d'autres questions, n'hésite pas.
Ps : Pour t'installer à strasbourg je te conseille le quartier des XV près de l'orangerie (un grand parc) et pas trop loin de la frontière pour toi.
Euuuh sinon, Colmar s'est mignon, mais j'éviterais quand meme...
Petite question ... pourquoi vouloir opter pour Strasbourg pour se loger ? En dehors de l'envie de garder l'habitude de payer des loyers à la parisienne ? 😉
Nan parce que Colmar ou même Mulhouse sont quand même plus proche de Freiburg du coup je me pose la question. Et c'est vrai qu'aux heures de pointes ça bouchonne un peu sur l'A5 pour se rendre à Freiburg
Après c'est sur que si vous voulez rester dans une grande ville c'est Strasbourg qui l'emporte mais Colmar a un certains charme ... vous êtes déjà venu dans la région ?
Parce que Strasbourg ce qui peut etre agréable c'est son centre ville qui bouge beaucoup par contre en voiture pas mieux que Paris 😎 bon y a pleins d'autres quartiers sympa plus à l'écart du centre ville aussi ....

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
