Bonjour tout le monde, je me permet un petit post sur cette frontière qui pose beaucoup de soucis de ce que j'ai pu voir sur le forum. Ce n'est pas un enieme post pour demander comment faire car à force de discussion avec locaux et recherches sur internet nous avons trouvé une solution. Je m'explique :
Nous sommes actuellement à turbo (colombie) et nous partons demain pour capurgana (dernière ville colombienne, 3h de bateau).
Seulement ici, les gens nous disent qu'en ce moment la frontière du panama est bloquée. Et d'autres nous disent que non... on ne sait donc pas trop quoi faire.. on va la tenter mais je voulais savoir si certains d'entre vous sont actuellement ici comme nous ?? Où on réussit à passer récemment ? C'est le but de ce post.
Sinon pour le trajet qu'on a trouvé ça donnerai :
- turbo - capurgana en bateau (3h, tampon de sortie de colombie à capurgana et nuit la bas)
- le lendemain bateau capurgana - puerto obaldia (30min, tampon d'entrée au panama)
- apres le tampon d'entrée, si possible directement un bateau puerto obaldia - carti (sinon le lendemain, qui visiblement dure entre 6 et 9h)
- à carti il est possible facilement de rejoindre panama city via 2h de Jeep.
Voila.. on tente capurgana demain matin tot, si vous avez quelconques infos de sources sûres on est preneur.
Un gros merci en avance et je posterai ici le résultat de ce qu'on a vécu si ca peu en aider certains ;)
J'étais justement en train de réfléchir sur cela pour le futur (je vais à Capurgana dans 10 jours mais ensuite je ne traverserai pas au Panama cette fois)... Je pensais faire cela à pieds, de Capurgana à Carti, qui fait grosso modo 200 kms (1 semaine de marche)... quelqu'un l'a-t-il déjà fait ?
De rien ! Je vais tenir au courant ici de nos avancées, on a réussis à atteindre capurgana aujourd'hui sans aucun soucis.
Faut se lever tôt, aller acheter son billet au port de turbo et le bateau part à 8h30. On était au port ticket en main vers 7h30. Il y a pas mal d'africains et haïtiens qui n'ont pas réussis à avoir les billets (le port a refusé de leur vendre) mais en tant que francais ca passe ..
On est donc arrivé à capurgana ce matin, on a trouvé une auberge (le gecko) et on a pu faire tamponner notre sortie à la date de demain, ils nous ont bien précise que malgré le tampon on a le droit de rester ici encore trois jours, donc si on peu pas rentrer au panama on peu rebrousser chemin. Voila pour les infos ;) demain direction puerto obaldia ou on espère se faire tamponner l'entrée sans soucis et chopper le bateau pour carti.
Concernant ton idée de le faire a pied je te déconseille vraiment .. rien qu'à turbo tout le monde nous disait de pas bouger du centre ville et que la situation était tendue, et si tu jette un œil sur le site France diplomatie tu verras que de puerto obaldia jusque carti la carte est en rouge concernant le niveau de danger actuel .. para militaires et narcos visiblement.. meme nous alors qu'on traîne pas on sait que notre trajet n'est pas très raisonnable alors à pied je pense que c'est pire .. up to you ;)
Alors ! Nous voici bien arrivé à panama city. Comme prevu, si ca peu aider je vais vous donner le détail de nos aventures.. et quelles aventures..
- dimanche : arrivée à turbo. On a trouvé un hôtel (residencia caribe : 20 000 pesos la nuit, très clean je précise car il y a pleins d'hôtel pas propres la bas ..)
- lundi : levé 6h30, direction le port, achat du ticket pour capurgana (60 000 pesos, 1h en lancha et attention ca fais un peu mal au dos ahah) arrivée à capurgana on a trouvé un hôtel (le gecko, très bien aussi, un peu roots, 20 000 pesos la nuit et les pizzas sont excellentes d'ailleurs tout le village y mange). On a aussi fait tamponner notre sortie de la colombie, il faut savoir que malgré la date de tampon de sortie on peu rester 3 jours de plus donc possible de revenir ici légalement si blocage à l'entrée du panama.
- mardi : levé 6h30 direction le port. Achat d'un ticket pour pour puerto obaldia (première ville panaméenne) pour 35 000 pesos et 1h de lancha encore. Arrivée à puerto obaldia, fouille à l'entrée du port de vos sacs et vérification du tampon de sortie. Honetement, la fouille c'est vraiment pour la forme, le militaire avait clairement la flemme .. mais ne vous amusez pas à amener des trucs illégaux pour autant. Ensuite direction l'immigration, sans aucun soucis ici, il a dit "vous pensez rester combien de jours ?" Et à tamponné l'entrée directement derrière .. pas d'histoire de vaccin, pas d'histoire de billet de sortie du panama obligatoire comme on a souvent lu.
Mais c'est la que les ennuis commencent .. il nous fallait un bateau pour Garti, afin de rejoindre panama city d'ici la soirée. Ça ne s'est pas passé comme prévu.. on a pu prendre une lancha, soit disant pour garti a 120$ dollars par personne (ca tombait bien c'est pile ce qu'on avait chacun) Le capitaine nous a spécifié qu'il fallait s'arrêter avant à "calédonia" (une île kuna) pour mettre de l'essence et qu'il fallait donner 50$ pour aller jusque là bas (45min de lancha) On l'a fait, sauf qu'une fois arrivé la bas.. on a jamais revu la couleur du bateau. On s'est donc retrouve coincé sur une île kuna et croyez moi, ils n'étaient pas du tout sympathiques .. uniquement intéressé par l'argent, restez constamment proches de vos affaires. Il ne nous restait que 70$ chacun .. on ne pouvait donc pas acheter à manger ni à boire ni un endroit où dormir car sinon on aurait pas pu payer la fin du trajet en bateau jusque garti. On a donc cherché un nouveau bateau, sans succès .. et personne ne vous renseignera sur quand c'est possible, car ils veulent que vous dormiez chez eux moyennant finances.. on a croisé un couple d'allemand coincé sur l'île depuis deux jours. On a du payer une taxe de 3$ par personne pour avoir le droit d'être sur l'île, mais nous n'avons pas cédé pour la nuit donc nous avons dormi dehors par terre sur un ponton du port.. et cela nous a aidé, car ils ont compris qu'ils ne feraient pas d'argent avec nous, donc en fin de journee ils sont venu nous proposer un bateau. On se pensait sauvé mais ça ne s'arrête pas là.
- mercredi : depart 5h du matin, on a donné nos derniers 70$ pour se rendre à garti (soit disant à 3h30). Au final, on s'est retrouvé à faire 5h30 de bateau dans une barque fissurée et sous la pluie.. c'était quelque chose ahah. Et la intervient le nouveau problème.. on ne nous a pas lâché a garti.. mais à "nargana", a 45 min de garti. Et la .. pas de bateau avant le lendemain pour garti, nous n'avions plus un seul dollars en poche, le billet du lendemain coûte 15$ Par personne et la jeep jusqu'à panama city est de 25$ par personne .. nous sommes trois on avait donc besoin de 105$ c'est quand même une somme.. pas le choix, on a essayé d'obtenir de l'argent par tous les moyens dans le village (il y a une banque mais évidemment il faut une carte de credit kuna), ce fut sans succès .. on ne pouvait ni manger, ni boire, ni partir. On s'est donc mis au port, et on a commencé à vendre des affaires à nous. Et la, gros coup de chance, on tombe sur le chef du village, avec qui on a beaucoup sympathisé ! De la tout s'est arrangé, on a vendu une gopro et un chargeur solaire (plus chere qu'au prix d'achat pour les deux) et on s'est retrouvé avec 200$. On a donc pu acheter nos tickets pour le lendemain, et se payer un repas dans le restaurant plus que local ^^. On a encore une fois dormi dehors, mais c'était la fin alors ca nous allait. Je tiens à noter que les gens sur cette île sont très gentils, rien à voir avec la précédente. Ils nous ont beaucoup aidés.
- jeudi : levé 4h30, barque à 5h pour 15$ et arrive à garti en 1h. Ensuite on a eu notre jeep a 25$ par personne qui nous a amené ou ont voulait dans panama city (possibilité de retirer du cash sur la route) ouffff !
En somme on a fait deux repas en deux jours et demi, dormi deux fois dans la rue. Donc si vous le faites, c'est très faisable, mais prévoyez de l'argent .. et malgré mon récit prenez note que nous avons eu beaucoup de chance car on a eu besoin de 4 jours seulement mais le couple d'allemand à mis une semaine et demi. Restez proches de vos affaires, et soyez aussi prêt à voir des choses un peu spéciales, typiquement c'est la voie des clandestins, on en a croisé beaucoup, et ca fait de la peine d'écouter leur récit et de voir que les locaux ne leur rendront absolument aucun services, pas mêmes aux femmes blessés .. on les à aidé comme on a pu mais on avait pas de sous non plus.
Dernière chose, a puerto obaldia on va vous demander de payer la taxe de 20$ par personne d'entrée en territoire kuna, au forcing on leur a dit qu'on ne paierait pas, et arrivé à garti il y a un barrage mais ils ne nous ont rien demandé (ca parraissait logique qu'on ai payé vu qu'on venait de puerto obaldia.. donc ils n'ont pas vérifié) mais je ne peux pas vous assurer que ca passe à chaque fois.
Hésitez pas si vous avez des questions, et prévoyez des sous sans pour autant dire que vous en avez bien sûr, jouez la carte du pauvre, dormez dehors ne payez pas pour leurs chambre sinon ils ne proposent pas de bateau histoire de se faire de l'argent sur vous ..
Voila ;) desole pour le roman mais les choses sont claires au moins
Ahah oui en effet ! Avec un peu de recul maintenant on se dit que c'était incroyable ... mais aussi dangereux, on a eu beaucoup de chance. Si vous le faites tenez vraiment compte du récit, et sachez que pour nous c'est allé très vite mais certains ont mis beaucoup plus de temps (car parfois vous n'êtes pas assez pour remplir un bateau, et les kunas ne vous amèneront qu'avec un bateau plein donc vous devez attendre que de nouveaux touristes se perdent sur la route comme vous)
Alors capurgana, tres sympa, la balade jusque spazurro dure 2h30. Apres concrètement, y rester deux jours suffit sauf si tu aime prendre le temps de te baigner et te relaxer plusieurs jours :)
Mais si tu viens des Caraïbes côte carthagene, santa marta, le parc tyruana, venir à capurgana simplement pour visiter ne t'apportera pas grand chose, c'est minuscule .. assez pauvre, mais c'est tres beau :) (pas forcément capurgana mais les coins natures aux alentours je veux dire, car capurgana est un petit village tu as vite fait le tour)
Je retiens 2 choses de ce récit:
-Sacré aventure, pas faite pour tout le monde
-Au final, ça coûte bien moins cher de prendre l'avion au départ de Cartagena pour rejoindre Panama City!
Quant à SchTrotsky qui compte passer à pied, je te le déconseille très fortement, c'est le meilleur moyen de chercher les ennuis et surtout de les trouver et d'augmenter les statistiques du ministère des affaires étrangères...
Et pourtant je ne suis pas un alarmiste bien loin de là, je suis le premier à dire que si on s'en tient au site du ministère on ne voyage nulle part, mais dans certains cas, il faut être réaliste...
En effet l'avion carthagene panama est moins chere ! Apres notre trajet a été amorti sur plusieurs jours, je pense que c'est approximativement la même chose. Tout dépend du temps qu'on met à traverser ahah.
Oui je suis d'accord concernant le voie par la forêt, c'est possible de prendre un guide kuna, mais ça coûte environ 200$ de ce qu'ils disaient, et certains s'enfui une fois que vous avez payé l'accompte et vous laissent seul en forêt hostile... c'est ce qui est arrivé à certains clandestins que l'on a rencontré en tout cas.
En fait carti est divisé en deux parties il existe l'île et plus loin le port sur la côte qui permet de rejoindre panama city en jeep.
Pour nos estimations on s'est simplement basé sur ce qu'on a pu voir sur les forums ou blog mais c'était un peu vieux ou approximatif parfois c'est pourquoi j'ai décidé de faire ce post, au cas où ca puisse aider

Je vous explique ma situation.
J'ai malheureusement perdu mon passeport , et je m'en suis rendu compte seulement 2 semaines avant mon départ pour une mission humanitaire en Libye. Je suis infirmière et cette mission me tient vraiment à cœur.
J'ai d'abord fait une demande de passeport d'urgence, qui a été refusée par la préfecture du Val-d'Oise, au motif qu'une mission humanitaire programmée ne constituait pas un motif impérieux.
J'ai donc déposé une demande de passeport biométrique le 20 juillet. Depuis, le suivi est bloqué et la mairie ne peut (ou ne veut) pas vraiment me donner d'informations. À chaque appel, on me donne une version différente. La dernière information que j'ai eue est que le passeport serait produit depuis le 23 juillet et avec un statut "va être expédié", mais depuis plus rien.
J'ai réussi à repousser mon départ au maximum à mardi prochain, mais je commence vraiment à paniquer.
Est-ce que certains d'entre vous ont déposé une demande autour du 20 juillet, notamment dans le Val-d'Oise (95) ? Combien de temps avez-vous attendu entre la production du passeport et sa mise à disposition en mairie ? Est-ce normal que cette étape prenne aussi longtemps ?
Cette mission représente énormément pour moi. J'avais tout organisé et je suis également censée assister au mariage d'une amie à la frontière juste après.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

My wife and I are heading to the US.
On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
