Nous aimerions ma femme et moi passer notre retraite en Crête et nous nous posons quelques questions.
Est-il plus avantageux d'acheter ou de louer ?
Quelqu'un aurait-il des renseignements sur des agences immobilière crétoises?
Y en a t'il qui ont déjà vécu cette expérience et quels enseignements en tirent-ils?

Je ne connais pas du tout la Crète. Ma réponse est simplement généraliste. J'ai beaucoup et voyagé et déménagé. Le mieux est d'abord de louer, pour pouvoir choisir avec + de certitude le coin où vous investirez éventuellement après, selon les prix, les habitants, les sites qui vous plaieront.
Quand je serai riche (peu d'espoir vu que j'ai 64 ans) j'irai passer des mois et des mois en Afrique: c'est le continent de la richesse humaine qu'on a oublié en Occident, et quelques temps au Vietnam.

Nous ne sommes allés qu'une fois en Crête et nous avons été séduits par le pays et les habitants.
Je comprend votre passion pour l'Afrique, j'ai moi même des amis membres de MSF ou d'autres ONG qui y sont ou ne rêvent que d'une chose, d'y retourner.

j'habite en Crète depuis 15 ans, alors je connais un peu. Je suis québecoise et je connais des courtiers qui seraient heureux de vous aider dans vos recherches. Il faut savoir le temps que vous désirez séjourner ici chaque année ou si vous désirez "habitez" pour calculer si cela vous est plus rentable de louer ou acheter. Dépendamment de l'endroit où est situé la maison, les prix varient énormément car comme vous le savez, ici, le tourisme fait "grimper" les prix. C'est aussi un moyen de financer une maison que de la louer en l'absence des propriétaires...N'hesitez pas à me contacter. Diane

En résumé voici notre situation.
Nous avons connu le Crête et plus particulièrement la région de Sitia cette année et nous en sommes repartis émerveillés.
Comme nous serons tous les 2 prépensionnés en juin 2007 nous nous sommes dit, pourquoi ne pas aller vivre là-bas et il s'agirait d'y vivre 12 mois sur 12.
Forte de votre expérience de 15 ans en Crête pouvez nous conseiller.
Est-il facile pour des étrangers de s'intégrer à la population ?
Est -il facile d'y trouver un logement ? Alors à cette question 2 réponses possibles, louer ou acheter. Nous ne disposons que d'un petit capital de +/- 50.000 euros avec cela je ne crois pas possible d'acheter quelquechose de convenable ? mais nous aurions comme revenus mensuels +/- 2500 euros. Il paraitrait qu'avec cette somme il y a moyen de louer une belle petite maison et de bien y vivre.
Ce que nous souhaiterions c'est une maison pas trop loin ou à l'intérieur d'une ville, pas trop loin de la mer, ayant au moins 2 chambres une petite cour ou un petit jardin et les commodités.
Pensez-vous cela possible.

Je crois qu'avec le montant que vous pouvez déboursez, il y a moyen de trouver quelque chose à acheter, je vais en discuter avec une amie qui est courtier. Les prix varient énormément selon la partie de l'île et la proximité de la mer. Pour s'adapter, il en va de même, ça dépend des endroits... Les petits villages se vident de leurs habitants qui vont vers la grande ville, mais les crétois ont tendance à conserver leur demeure familiale "au village". Ils sont en général assez ouverts aux nouveaux arrivants mais la langue est bien sûr un obstacle majeur. Est-ce votre préférence dans cette partie de l'île(Sitia), seriez-vous prêts à vivre dans un petit village ou une ville avec tous les services, à quelle distance maximum de la mer?..Les maisons à louer à proximité de la mer sont "réquisitionnées" durant la saison touristique, ce qui les rend plus dispendieuses, même si on les louent à l'année. Une maison près de la mer peut facilement rapporter 500€ par semaine..même petite..La saison est d'avril à octobre..Faut surtout être patient et attendre l'opportunité..je m'informe et on garde contact!

Seulement n'allez pas trop vite, le capital dont je vous parlais nous ne le toucherons qu'au mois d'avril/mai 2007.
En réponse à vos autres questions, nous ne sommes pas spécialement braqué sur la région de Sitia mais c'est la seule que nous connaissons et que nous avons beaucoup appréciée.
Ma femme ayant eu un petit problème vasculaire, elle préférerait plutôt un logement à proximité d'une ville et si possible pas trop loin de la mer quoique en Crête on ne doit jamais en être fort loin. C'est aussi une des raisons pour laquelle Sitia nous plaisait mais il existe certainement d'autres coins aussi attirants.
Quant au type de maison il doit en exister plusieurs et je pense qu'il s'agira de notre part d'un coup de coeur. Ce que nous aimerions quand même c'est une petite cour ou jardin et 2/3 chambres car nous aurons probablement régulièrement de la visite. C'est peut-être beaucoup demandé pour un achat mais nous restons ouvert aussi à la solution location.
Voila en gros les premières explications et je me tiens à votre entière disposition pour tout supplément d'information.

Je rentre de la Crète (du 1 au 15 juillet) les prix doivent se situer à la baisse car il y a cette année 40% de touristes en moins et sur place se n'est pas la joie, beaucoup de tavernes et surtout les hôtel sont fermés donc c'est un élément à prendre en considération.
Il y a moins de touristes car ces derniers se sont tournés vers la Tunisie, Turquie, Egypte, c'est moins cher.

Bonjour Geraldine, j'ai habite 4 ans en Crete, les conditions de vies y sont tres bonnes, je connais myriam et voici le site internet de l'agence ou elle travaille, la Crete est tres petite, et on y rencontre des gens tres sympathiques, j'ai du partir en belgique, nouveau job, ceci dit j'en garde un tres bon souvenir et une maison egalement. Je joins le lien de l'agence immobiliere de Myriam et mon lien personnel ou vous trouverez de l'info sur notre maison qui est a vendre aujourd'hui, si toutefois vous desirez acheter un bien en Crete ou connaissez quelqu'un interresse dans l'achat d'un bien.

Je peux te donner un numéro, d’une copine qui connaît les prix mais a mon avis, il est préférable comme dans tous les pays, de « tester l’ambiance ».
A mon avis il est + judicieux de louer, tout d’abord, car la Crète est grande.
Il y a pleins de coins sympas, mais les mentalités sont différentes d’une région a l’autre.
Les gens de Sitia sont forcement différent de ceux de Héraklion, Rethimnon ou Chania. Du Nord et du Sud. Et puis, au bout d’un moment, tu vas + ou – voir que les tarifs différent.
Je pense que pour investir, il faut encore attendre un peu.
Début 2009, me semble + intéressant.
Je recherche par la même occasion un petit bien en France, et je constate que les prix ont baisses mais a mon avis, vont encore baisser…
Nous recherchons une location en Crète pour aller y vivre car nous avons voulu tenter de construire mais avec leur nouvelle loi, c'est devenu le parcours du combattant.
Pourriez-vous nous donner vos contacts en immobilier pour trouver une maison correcte à louer à l'année à un prix correct et pas en qualité de touriste... Merci par avance pour votre réponse qui pourrait nous aider beaucoup...

J'y habite 6 mois/an à kamisiana, 20 km de Chania, un petit village 5pa à 1 km de la mer - je voudrais peut-être céder mon pied à terre , le voyage devient fatigant à mon âge - à voir ! If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
