Sinon, si le passage est obligé, quel est le moyen le plus rapide?
On finit notre voyage par Bali. C'est pour ca, on voudrait eviter de passer par Bali.

Nous revenons d'Indonésie ; séjour du 02 au 18 mai avec vol Paris / Denpasar / Paris : Java ( Borobudur, Prambalan, Bromo, Kawah Ijen ) => temples et volcans Bali ( Pemuteran, Tulamben, Amed, Ubud, Jimbaran ) => plongées, temples et risières Lombok ( ile Gili Trawangan ) => plongéesIL faut absolument faire le Kawah Ijen mais le déplacement est très difficile. Dans le cas d'un séjour de 2 semaines il ne faut pas perdre de temps sur ce trip. Nous avons pris de Surabaya le bus public jusqu'à Probolinggo. La nous avons pris par une agence pour le circuit Bromo, Kawa Ijen et transfert jusqu'au ferry pour Bali ( 400.000 Rps / personne compris nuit d'hotel au Arabica Home Stay ). Si besoin je peux donner le contenu détaillé.
Pour répondre à ta question 2 possibilités; revenir sur Subaraya pour prendre l'avion ( Lion Air ) passer sur Bali ( ferry et transport jusqu'à Dempasar avec Bus Pemara ) puis prendre l'avion ou le bateau rapide ( 3h entre Gili Trawangan et Sanur - 550.000 Rps / pers. compris transfert à l'hotel sur Jiimbaran ).Ma préférence serait la seconde mais pourquoi ne pas faire Lombok à la fin ? Que souhaites-tu faire sur Bali et Lombok ?

Alors, on aura 12 jours a passer en Indonésie. et 3j a singapour avant ca.
Sur notre pré-programme, on a quasi prevu les memes chose sur Java et Lombok.
On finit par Bali car on rejoint des copains la bas. Mais on est que 2 à vouloir partir de singapour, on visite le reste et a la fin, on se retrouve tous a Bali.
c'est pourquoi, on fait Java, Lombok et Bali.
Pour le mont Bromo et le Kawah Ijen, j'ai vu qu'il y avait aussi des agences a partir yogyakarta pour probolinggo (pour eviter surabaya)
Pour le transport apres le Kawah Ijen, on va certaineement prendre votre 2eme solution. Ca nous plait bien de prendre le feerie.
Vu votre voyage et notre programme, je reviendrais certainement vers vous pour d'autres infomrations.
A ce que j'imagine tu feras les incontournables de Yogyakarta ( Borobudur, Prambanan) donc je me permets de proposer ce que nous avons fait après ; prendre un vol Yogja => Surabaya ( Avec Lion Air départ à 6h00 - durée 30minutes - 273.000 Rps + 50.000 Rps taxes aerop / pers. ) à la sortie de l'aeroport de Surabaya prendre le bus qui va à la gare de bus centrale de Bungurashih ( 15.000 Rps/pers. ) bus public jusqu'à Probollingo ( 20.000 Rps/pers. - durée 2-3 heures) le bus s'arrête devant l'agence MAHKOTA TOUR tél 081 358 533 523. Comme par hasard !!!Le choix de passer par une agence à ce stade devient interressant pour la suite du voyage c.à.d si vous prenez le Kawah Ijen pour la problématique de transport dont j'ai déjà parlé.
L'agence propose ( négocier le prix - dire qu'on est étudiant ... : au final on a payé 400.000 Rps/pers ) : l'acheminement à Cemoro Lawang en mini bus. le matin à 4h00 acheminement en 4x4 sur le Mt Penanjakan pour lever de soleil sur les volcans reprendre le 4x4 pour descente sur la mer de sable jusqu'au pied du Bromo. après le Bromo; retour en 4x4 à votre hotel vers 9h00 à 10h retour à Probollingo devant l'agence par mini bus un véhicule avec chauffeur est prévu pour la suite ; Kawah Ijen puis jusqu'au ferry. à Simpol - la nuit d'hotel au Arabica Home Stay est comprise dans le prix. lever le matin vers 5h00, acheminement jusqu'au départ de la marche d'approche. L'ascension et surtout la descente / remontée dans le cratère est à faire obsolument ; c'est fascinant . Attention : le vent tourne vers 9h30 - 10h et renvoye le nuage sulfureux du coté de la descente dans le cratère. Il faut donc boucler le périple avant. Retour au point de départ vers 9h30 et départ jusqu'au ferry de Banyuangi Je le conseille vivement ce choix pour ceux qui ont un séjour court.
Le Bromo c'est super mais très ( ou trop ) touristique, le Kawah Ijen c'est dément, hors de tout, des porteurs de souffre qui vont vous toucher ; ils toussent, chantent dans l'entre de l'enfer... Je ne vous en dirai pas plus mais faite le.
Attention en sens inverse il semble qu'il n'y ai pas d'organisation de ce type.
Voilà pour l'organisatin du Bromo + Kawah Ijen au départ de YOgya. Les prix des tranports ( bus, avion, ferry ) sont ceux payé en début de mois de mai. Ca peut vous aider dans votre choix !!!

Les conseils donnés je le rappelle s'adresse à des personnes qui vont faire un séjour court ( 15 jours ) et qui prévoyent un circuit assez complet. l'avion est très utilisé en Indonésie par les locaux ( exemple ; un vol Dempasar Yogja => 429.000 Rps + 30.000 Rps de taxe aérop. / personne avec Lion Air - soit 32 euros - billet prix sur place à l'aeroport ). le train de nuit est aussi une alternative ( je n'ai pas les prix ). Nous avons pour le prix / rapidité priviligié l'utilisation de l'avion sachant que nous pouvions le prendre très tôt et profiter de la journée pour faire les visites programmées. Donc à ta question ; je répondrais oui prends un vol pour Jakarta => Yogya sur tu veux faire le Borobudur et Prambalang ( couple ces visite en prenant un chauffeur ; ton hotelier te mettras en relation - il te restera à négocier le prix - nous avons payé 300.000 Rps la prestation ( un super 4x4 + chauffeur ). prends un autre vol pour Yogya => Subaraya pour le circuit des volcans ( reprendre mes messages précédent pour la suite de l'organisation - durée et prix ) J'ai homis des détails sur la durée des déplacements ; de Probollingo à Simpol compter une demi-journée. Alors, on a fait un programme et j'aimerais savoir ce que vous en pensez et j'ai qqs questions egalement:
1. je pars mi-septembre et je reste 3j a singapour.
2. Ensuite, on part pour Jakarta en avion. Le lendemain, on part pour yogyakarta. La on reste 2 ou 3 nuits, on visitera prombanan, borobudur, les temples, les marchés.
3. On prendra avec une agence : le pack mont bromo + kawa ijen + transport au féérie + hotel-> Saviez vous quelle agence et ou se situe-t-elle dans yogya?
4. on prend le feerie pour bali et direct a Denpasar. on arrivera en debut d'apres midi sur bali-> saviez quelle est la duree pour ce voyage?
5. ensuite Ubud, la on restera qqs jours pour la visite.-> Il serait plus simple de dormir a denpasar et de partir a ubud le lendemain, ou faire le transport directement le meme jour et dormir a ubud?
6. apres qqs jours de visite, plage, temple, riziere....on va aller a sanur. de la, on va prendre le feerie pour Gili Trawangan.-> Saviez vous le nom du feerie?-> Aviez vous des conseils pour faire de la plongée?
On reste une nuit sur place et on repart le lendemain apres midi.
7. on repart sur Bali, et direction le Nord. On dort je ne sais pas ou encore. Le but est d'aller au Lac et volcan Batur.
8. Au retour, on redesend sur Denpasar et on voit si il nous reste qqs instants pour aller sur la presqu'ile. Sinon, direction singapour.
En tout, on a 12j en indonesie et 4j a singapour (3 avant l'indonesie et 1 au retour). c'est court, on a prevu pas mal de trucs, mais on est pret a marcher, transport...on va essayer d'optimiser notre temps depuis ici.
3-A Yogya, je ne connais pas d'agence mais pas de panique... y'en a partout et de toute facon, tout le monde va vous le proposer... vu que c'est l'attraction!!!
4- Le bateau pour Bali.. .. (ca dépend d'ou vous partez en fait..;-) nous du mont Bromo, on a dû faire 7h de bUs de nuit...et 20 min de Bateau, 1h de bus pour Denpasar...
5-Pour faire DenPasar, Ubud, il faut 1 h... tant qu'a faire.. autant Enchainer!
6- Je ne connais pas le nom du feeri du Gili trawagan, mais a la limite toujours se fier à l'agence "officielle" J'ai oublié le nom mais les guides en parlent....
INFO IMPORTANTE, ca ne sert a rien d'aller a Gili TRawagan pour 1 nuit... il y a déjà 4h de bateau..!! aller a Gili trawagan siginifie se reposer un peu.. prendre le temps, de plonger, de se promener.... bref, les vacances.. sinon autant ne pas y aller!
A la limite, mieux vaut faire le nord avt et finir par qq jours de farniente a Gili TRa
Ps: Vous n'aurez pas le temps d'aller sur la presqu'ile de Bukit 🙂

Je pensais mettre plus de temps pour aller a denpasar. dans ce cas, en effet, on ira directement a Ubud.
Pour Gili Tra, on s'est dit c'est dommage de ne pas y aller. On ira quand meme et on verra si on peut rester plus longtemps que deux jours. c'est sur qu'on n'aura pas le temps de se reposer... mais vu la duree qu'on a, on voudrat faire le maximum.
On n'ira pas a bukit...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).

My partner and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September-October 2026. My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
