Je serai en Italie cet automne et je termine mon séjour de 15 jours par 5 jours en Toscane, où je n'ai pas choisi l'endroit de l'hébergement encore. Durant ces 5 jours, j'aimerais rayonner en Toscane et idéalement aller marcher dans les cinq terres pour une grande journée. Toutefois, je ne suis pas certaine dans quel coin de la Toscane il serait préférable de séjourner afin de bien pouvoir rayonner en Toscane et atteindre les Cinq terres sans avoir à faire plusieurs heures de voitures.
Ce sera difficile d'idéalement combiner les 2. Si vous êtes autour de Lucca, vous êtes à une heure, une heure 15 des Cinqueterre. Par contre un peu loin du centre et du sud de la Toscane, qui est la partie au sud de Sienne, et le côté est avec le Chianti. La partie sud près de Montpulciano, pienza et Montalcino est à mon avis la plus belle et représentative de la Toscane et vous serez très loin. Dans un monde idéal, vous auriez 2 endroits pour coucher, sans oubliez qu'une journée dans les Cinqueterre est très peu. Assurez-vous de faire une partie de la randonnée en bateau. Le plus beau spectacle est de voir ces villages de l'eau.

nous rentrons d'un séjour en italie, en Toscane nous avons séjourné à Tavarnelle val di Pesa bien centré pour visiter Forence, Sienne, San Gimignano + plusieurs villages intéressants Certaldo, Monterrigioni...
Par contre, pour une randonnée dans les cinque Terre, il est préférable peut être, ce que nous avons fait, de séjourner à la Spezia, depuis la Spezia il est très facile de rejoindre les cinque Terre par train ou par bateau et d'y faire une randonnée sur la journée en visitant les 5 villages.

J'avais moi aussi le même souhait et après voir examiné le "problème" sous tous les angles, je suis arrivée à la conclusion que les 2 n'étaient pas vraiment conciliables. Le mieux est de choisir un endroit pour la Toscane et puis venir loger à la Spezia pour découvrir les cinque terre.
Nous sommes revenus d'Italie il y a un mois et nous avons quelques bonnes adresses à recommander. Dans notre recherche d'hébergement, nous avons misé sur la meilleure qualité possible à un prix très raisonnable.
Tout d'abord, un magnifique B&B à Venise, CA'Barba (http://www.cabarba.com/CaBarba/CaBarba.html). Peu dispendieux, un hôte très accueillant et de délicieux petits-déjeuners. Le propriétaire vient même vous chercher à l'arrêt de vaporetto pour vous aider à trouver l'endroit. Je vous le recommande fortement.
Notre coup de coeur du séjour fut notre villa en Toscane, la Rocca del Maestrino (http://www.laroccadelmaestrino.it/). Un endroit tranquille, magnifique où les appartements sont spacieux et on une vue à couper le souffler. Et avec une piscine sublime (les enfants adoreront)! Nous avons également pris les cours de cuisine offerts par les propriétaires et nous avons sincèrement très apprécié!
À partir de cette villa, nous avons visité de nombreux endroits. Il s'agit d'un bon "camp de base" à partir duquel nous avons visité Pise, Lucca, le Chianti et Florence y est à environ 15 minutes en voiture. Nous avons même passé une excellente journée à Cinque Terre, qui n'est pas si loin.
Si vous tenez à résider à Florence, nous avons passé une nuit au Hôtel California (http://www.californiaflorence.it/), qui était un excellent hôtel peu cher.
Pour ce qui est de Rome, notre hôtel n'était pas à conseiller, je vous suggère donc de vous adresser à d'autres internautes!

Nous avons passé 15 jours en Italie. Nous avions prévu passer 6 jours à Rome, mais après 5 jours nous avions fait le tour des principaux attraits. Nous avons donc fait un saut d'une journée à Florence et nous avons ensuite passé 3 jours à Venise. Comme Venise est une ville très charmante, mais également très petite, donc 2 jours auraient été suffisants. Nous avons ensuite loué une voiture pour aller passer les 5 derniers jours en Toscane, où nous avons rayonné.
Ce n'est pas évident de déterminer un itinéraire et le nombre de journées à passer dans chaque ville, mais dans notre cas nous avons voulu visiter les principaux endroits, tout en maximisant le nombre de kilomètres effectués. Nous ne voulions pas avoir l'impression d'être toujours entre deux destinations.
Concernant Venise, nous y avons passé 5 jours complets et nous n'avons pas pu faire tout ce qu'on voulait y faire, donc, prudence en disant que 2 jours suffissent, tout dépend des attentes de chacun !
Je ne peux que te conseiller d'aller voir du coté du site HOMELIDAYS. Je ne jure plus que par lui pour partir en vacances. Les chambres d'hôtes essentiellement. Toutes les adresses que j'ai pû essayer sont vraiment nickel à 100%, prix et qualité. De plus elles sont très bien réparties sur les différentes régions.
Pour partir une semaine par exemple, je loge 2 jours dans l'une, 2 jours dans l'autre, etc et découvre à chaque fois des paysages, des logements, des mentalités différentes.
L'année dernière, pour visiter Venise, j'ai logé à Mira (environ 15 KMS) de Venise. Prestation de très grande qualité pour 70 Euros par nuit pour deux personnes. Logement somptueux (si si), petit déjeuner copieux, gare à 5 min, propriétaire parlant le français (avec un accent italien quand même) et passionné de son pays, surtout de Venise où il a habité. Réf du site offre n° 102131. Il n'y a qu'à lire les commentaires pour voir la satisfaction des locataires. Mais il y a d'autres offres sur toute l'Italie.

Je vais en Toscane en septembre 2012, 7 jours en Toscane et 7 jours dans les alentours de Venise, Lido . En Toscane je me suis informé pour LA Rocca Del Maestrino que vous avez bien aimé et bien situé les appartements pour deux personne sont bien ? Des restos proche pour le souper ? Vous connaissez un appartement ou hotel bien à Lido ou Venise.
Les appartements pour 2 personnes sont très bien! Grande chambre, belle salle de bain, cuisine et petit salon. Très coquet! Pour les restaurants, on trouve très bien à 5 ou 10 minutes de voiture. Nous nous sommes surpris nous-mêmes en allant peu au restaurant. Les produits sont tellememt frais et bon, qu'il fait bon de déboucher une bouteille de vin et se servir fromage, charcuteries, pain et/ou pâtes avec un peu d'huile d'olive, tomates et basilic! Sans xompter les délicieuses pâtisseries choisies au village. Nous avons vraiment apprécié la tranquilité de la campagne toscane à la fin de notre séjour et vivre au rythme des italiens de ce coin. Surtout après de longues journées de visite, les pieds dans la piscine et un livre à la main!
À Venise, nous avons beaucoup ai, é le CA Barba mentionné plus haut. Chambre propre, tranquille et grande. Joli resto tout près que l'hôte saura certainement vous recommander.
Profitez bien de ce beau moment qui précède un voyage comme celui-ci!
J'aimerais savoir ce que vous avez pu voir en une journée au Cinque Terre. Nous y serons en septembre prochain. Je présume que nous arriverons à Riomaggiore vers 10 h le matin, pour y coucher le soir et repartir le lendemain. Que nous suggérez-vous de faire ? A-t-on le temps de faire quelques randonnées, ou de prendre le train de village en village, et le bateau ?
Si vous restez près de Vinci, comptez 1 h 30 à 2 h pour rejoindre le parking de la gare de La Spezia et 2 h à 2 h 30 pour aller à San Quirico d'Orcia... C'est vous qui voyez... 😛
Pour les Cinqueterre, l'affluence a augmenté depuis 2010, si possible éviter le dimanche et les jours d'arrivée des bateaux de croisières...
En voiture, il me paraîtrait plus logique d'aller directement par l'autoroute de Venise à La Spezia centre ville (laisser la voiture dans le parking payant de la gare ou à l'hôtel si vous trouvez). Au moins 2 nuits. 1er jour, Riomaggiore et Manarola en train. 2e jour, bateau La Spezia-Monterosso et visite en train Monterosso - Vernazza - Corniglia (gare en bas, grand escalier pour monter ou petit minibus). Eventuellement, Portovenere en voiture le premier soir (ou en bus en vérifiant les horaires de retour). Ne prenez pas la voiture pour vous rendre dans les 5 villages susmentionnés.
Ensuite, se déplacer dans l'appartement susmentionné s'il vous plaît ou dans le secteur. En voiture, Pise, Lucca, Florence. Attention aux ZTL. Possibles aussi : Certaldo, San Gimignano, Volterra...
Ensuite, se déplacer à San Quirico d'Orcia ou alentours, visite du secteur et de Sienne (là aussi, parking payant en arrivant, attention aux ZTL, éviter le mercredi grand marché, beaucoup de monde). Lors de ce déplacement, s'arrêter en route à Monteriggioni, 1 heure suffit.
Rendre la voiture à Grosseto; peut-être possible aussi (à vérifier) à Chiusi, pour prendre le train rapide pour Rome.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

Here’s our itinerary:

Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...
