Sinon le moins cher des moins chers c'est : Hôtel Parine un peu rudimentaire, fréquenté surtout par les Malgaches et les africains de passage, la sécurité est bonne, pas de pb, quartier Tsaralalàna (Ville basse), à droite de la caserne des pompiers et à 2 rues de l'AV de l'indépendance, douches et toilettes à l'extérieur avec eau chaude, dans les 10.000 à 15.000 Ar ; le fils du patron fait des changes si cela vous intéresse.
Bien sûr Hôtel Lambert et restaurant, c'est mon hôtel préfèré, quartier Ambondrona, vers le haut de l'escalier en partant du marché d'Analakely, lieu de RDV des routards, superbe ambiance quand vous tombez sur des voyageurs avec l'ouverture d'esprit et contact facile ! Chambres au sous sol dans les 15.000 Ar mais vaut mieux prendre des chambres au rdc ou à l'étage à partir de 20.000 Ar, 22.000 Arau 1er.... avec douche chaude et pissoire à l'intérieure, wc à l'extérieur. Tous les dimanches après-midi, Jérôme et sa femmme vous offre à boire à tous les clients ! D'ailleurs le couple va avoir bientôt un nouveau dans la famille et leur souhaite que du bonheur !

Hôtel Moonlight : Il y a une seule chambre la moins chère est à 17.000 AR mais vraiment petite sinon chambre à partir de 23.000 Ar... (je n'ai pas encore d'occasion de dormir ici donc à vérifier)
Ville haute, cité plus haut : Hôtel Raphia, chambre la moins chère 38.000 Ar, bruyant, douche et wc à l'extérieur, ça vaut pas le coup même avec une jolie vue à partir du balcon...
Hôtel Isoraka (annexe de Sakamanga) :La moins chère 23.000 Ar, si ma mémoire est bonne, petite mais bien décorée, douche et wc à l'extérieure.

Zainab, attention à ne pas te retrouver dans des hôtels pas chers mais qui sont en fait ni plus ni moins que des hôtels de passe ! Je pense en particulier au Raphia ou au Zazou. Par contre, je te conseille vivement "Le jardin d'Antanimena" qui est très bien situé et qui est tenu par un français, Jacques Cas, très sympa.(20 22 663 91 de Mada et tu fais +261 si tu appelles de France. Portable 0320792275 de Mada; de France +261320792275.) Même si tu me connais pas, dis-lui que c'est M. Jérôme qui t'a indiqué son adresse, tu seras encore mieux reçue.
Je te conseille l'Hotel le Glacier, sympa, avec terrasse discothéque top le soir et pas cher du tout. En plus plein centre et près de toutes animations.

Pour avoir un billet pas trop cher il faut éviter les périodes rouges cad les vacances scolaires !
Ce qui est sûr le billet pour Mada sera moins cher en janvier, février qu'en été (dans les 870 euros TTC). Dès fois les compagnies aériennes font des promos donc à surveiller régulièrement sur l'internet... En ce moment même, allez sur le site airmadagascar.com vous propose des promos... et pour plus de précisions vous devez leur téléphoner pour vous déplacer.
Ce n'est pas la bonne période pour y aller car c'est la saison des pluies et cycloniques mais peut-être il n'y en aura pas et même s'il y en a, ce n'est pas partout et en seul coup non plus ! On peut en savoir plusieurs jours à l'avance par le service météorologie...
Je vous rappelle la meileure période pour y aller c'est septembre, octobre pas de pluie et vous pouvez aller n'importe où, peut-être j'y serai.
Pour les tarifs, il ferait mieux que tu regardes dans les sites des agences comme Corsair, Air France et Air Madagascar.
Je ne sais pas si le tarif sera abordable en Janvier Février mais une amie est venue en mars l'année dernière avec un billet de 700 euros sur Air France.

Hotel Niaouly - Antananarivo - Bon marché et sympa
Nous sommes allés plusieurs fois à Tana (point de chute pour escale) et avons fait différents hôtel et lorsque nous avons découvert cet hotel nous y sommes retournés sans hésitation! C'est un Hotel modeste et très propre avec une déco très sympa fait avec goût.
Nous avons adoré l'ambiance, le cadre, les employés (Andrianina, "Nicolas", Eddie, Brigitte...), les employeurs (Laurent et Zo), l'excellente cuisine très joliment présentée et faite par Zo elle-même... Bref du pur bonheur! On le conseille vivement.
Laurent conseille très bien sur ce que l'on peut voir sur Tana et nous présente à des personnes professionnels fort sympathique!
On a beaucoup rit aussi ce qui n'est pas négligeable....Bref un petit coin bien chaleureux!

Now, after seeing and reading a bit everywhere, and with the first quotes for a 6/7-day safari, I’m shocked by the prices (like $2,250) for places like Maasai Mara, where entry alone costs $200 per person per day, plus fees for the driver and vehicle.
So if you have any recent great tips or contacts to share to help me out, I’d really appreciate it—because despite the costs, we’d still love to go, while keeping things reasonable.
The most plausible solution is probably renting a vehicle with a driver-guide.

Three years after exploring northern Argentina and Chile, my two travel buddies and I want to discover the southern part of these two countries.
We’re traveling on a budget, backpacker-style, favoring public transport and modest accommodations, but we don’t hesitate to splurge a little when it’s worth it.
The classic spots that have been fueling our dreams: Bariloche, the lakes, Chiloé, El Chaltén, Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Fitz Roy, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and wrapping up in Valparaíso.
We’ll take a round-trip flight to Santiago, then I’m thinking of a one-way flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From there, we’ll explore and do several day hikes in the south, including Ushuaia and, if possible, Tierra del Fuego.
Then we’ll head back north by bus to Bariloche and the lakes, followed by Chiloé, then a bus to Santiago and Valparaíso.
Based on your experience, could you help me figure out the best way to structure this trip and maybe suggest some ideas?

We’re a young couple planning to travel to South Africa after spending about three weeks in Namibia. We’ll arrive in Cape Town around mid-December, with no fixed travel duration (though our budget will eventually set a limit).
After browsing through the forum, we’ve realized the country is packed with incredible spots, which makes choosing an itinerary tough. We’re looking for stunning landscapes, hikes, and so on. So, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
When we arrive in Cape Town, we’d like to settle in and take it easy until New Year’s, exploring at a relaxed pace. We know this period coincides with South African holidays—does that make finding accommodations (availability/prices) more difficult? Do you think it’s possible to stay in a nice place for about 15 days without aiming for the most upscale neighborhoods? Maybe somewhere a bit outside Cape Town, like Fish Hoek, and just visit the city occasionally.
After that, we’ll have plenty of time (about 2 to 2.5 months) to explore the country. We’d like to take our time. In your opinion, is it better to focus on the Cape Town region, or is it reasonable to consider more distant areas like the Drakensberg or Blyde River Canyon? Can everything be done by car if we take our time, or are domestic flights sometimes more practical?
Budget-wise, how much do car rentals cost? For accommodations, we usually look at Airbnb—are they affordable in South Africa? What’s the average nightly rate outside the biggest cities? Are there other platforms you’d recommend for saving on lodging?
Finally, regarding safety, are there any regions to avoid besides Johannesburg?
We know this is a lot of questions, but we’re still in the early planning stages!

After exploring southern Peru in 2024 with your help, we’d love to head north next. There’ll be 5 or 6 of us:
1. Arrive in Lima in the evening.
2. Visit Lima and take a flight at 6:35 PM to Tarapoto.
3, 4, 5. Spend a few days there to trek in a reserve (Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve) or somewhere else.
6. From Tarapoto to Chachapoyas—either by overnight bus, daytime bus, or private car.
7. In Chachapoyas: Gocta Waterfall, Sonche Canyon, and walk back to town.
8. Head to Kuelap citadel, Revash, and arrive in Leymebamba.
9. Leymebamba museum, then route to Cajamarca.
10. Cajamarca hot springs, overnight bus to Trujillo or Chiclayo—or do both.
11, 12, 13. Visit and explore the area.
14. Overnight bus back to Lima.
15. Lima.
16. Depart at 8 PM for France.
