J'ai donc décider de trouver des solutions alternatives et je suis tombé sur le blog d'une fille de mon âge qui est partie 1 an en High School aux USA. J'ai lu tout le blog et ça ma vraiment donné envie de vivre la même chose, vivre avec une famille américaine pourrait être un gros plus pour moi.
Cependant, certains problèmes se posent. Je n'ai aucune envie de revenir en France après être parti mais pour intégrer une université américaine ou un community collège, apparemment, les dossiers sont envoyés en Novembre. mais si j'arrive aux USA en Aout, mon dossier sera vide! Je voudrais donc savoir si vous connaissez des solutions ou alors si vous pouviez me dire comment rester aux USA 2 ans (je pourrais faire 2 grade en High School le temps de me monter un dossier mais dans ce cas il faudrait trouver une famille pour m'héberger 2 ans or les programmes Exchange Student ne durent qu'1 an…)
Pour intégrer une université américaine, tu devras dans tous les cas fournir 4 ou 5 ans de bulletins (donc à partir de la seconde). Tout compte, avec plus de poids donné aux notes de 1e-Terminale et en particulier du bac de 1e (et de Terminale si tu as les résultats au moment où tu fais le dossier), mais aussi tes activités extrascolaires, où tu dois avoir obtenu des prix ou récompenses (et/ou être au CA ou au CVL), et ton score à des tests standardisés de classement, où tu es comparé aux Américains et où tu dois faire le moins de fautes possibles sur des centaines de questions (certes faciles, mais où tu as seulement 20-30 secondes pour répondre). Après ça tu dois écrire des essais personnels et là aussi ce n'est pas évidemtn - un général pour toutes les universités, et ensuite d'autres (généralement "pourquoi voulez vous venir chez nous et qu'est-ce qui fait qu'on devrait vous prendre, vous, et pas les centaines d'autres candidats" - note que répondre "parce que la ville est cool" = direct poubelle, ils veulent voir que tu as compris la "mission" de l'école et ses spécificités)...
Que ce soit pour la HS ou l'université, ça va coûter de l'argent, beaucoup d'argent. Est-ce que ta mère a les moyens? Tes grands-parents? Vont-ils soutenir ce projet? (Ne réponds pas sur un forum public, mais pose-toi la question et demande leur.)
Si ta mère avait accepté le poste aux US, tu aurais eu droit aux deux ans gratuits en école publique (à côté de là où tu habiterais) mais là ton seul choix est l'école privée, seule habilitée à garder un élève étranger deux ans. Tu peux passer par un organisme, cela coûte environ 15.000 euros la 1e année, et faire en sorte que cette année soit assez bonne pour qu'ils aient envie de te garder. La 2e année coûtera sans doute au moins autant, si ce n'est plus, que la 1e. De plus, il est possible que légalement ils ne t'acceptent pas si tu es trop vieux et certainement que ta mère ne te laissera pas partir en fin de 1e si tu lui dis que tu n'as pas envie de revenir.
Une possibilité plus raisonnable: tu as vraiment envie de partir, pars un an après la 1e (je crois même que wep fait une réduction pour ceux qui partent à ce moment-là), fais une année en école publique (8.000 euros environ), économise la différence et mets-la de côté pour l'université (22.000 euros quand même), construis ton dossier avec bonnes notes et cours importants + activités, suis les cours de "test prep" proposés par ton école et mets le paquet dessus (avec 22 à l'ACT tu es admis dans une fac publique sans bourse... avec 28 tu commences à avoir des bourses possibles... avec 32 plein de bourses possibles. Seul hic: seuls 2% des élèves arrivent à 32... Donc tu dois viser de passer le test en mai-juin de ta "junior year" pour t'entrainer quand tu es en plein dedans -cours/langue-, bosser tout l'été, et en septembre de ta Terminale repasser le test.) Mets le paquet sur tes résultats de 1e, essaie d'avoir des notes aussi hautes que possibles au bac de 1e (16+ ferait du bien à ton dossier), et en revenant en Terminale tu seras vraiment motivé donc tu devrais réussir. Certes tu devras jongler entre tes cours de Term et tes dossiers, mais si tu te débrouilles bien, tu devrais avoir tout fini à la fin des vacances de Noel, donc ça te laisse le printemps pour le bac (sachant que tes bulletins de 1er semestre sont envoyés aux universités, et qu'elles peuvent te refuser s'ils ne sont pas bons).

I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
