Je demeure à 25km de Sherbrooke. C'est une ville de maintenant 150, 000 habitants depuis les fusions.Vu qu'il y a des sherbrookois sur ce forum, je ne dirai pas que ce n'est pas une belle ville, mais par contre Magog....
Sherbrooke c la capitale de l'Estrie avec un tres grand et tres beau Centre d'achats et une université "toutes facultés" .Le tout à 5 min des lacs et de la campagne. Une heure et demie de Montreal par autoroute.
Aucun probleme de logements quoique le choix semble restreint actuellement.Vie moins chère qu'à Montréal.
Je suis Française. Je souhaite venir vivre et travailler au Canada à partir du mois de Septembre. Cependant, je ne sais pas trop où aller. Il paraît qu'Ottawa, c'est mort le soir, tu sais si c'est vrai?
A sherbrook, on parler Francais ou Anglais. Perso, je recherche plus un endroit ou je pourrais parler anglais histoire de devenir Bilingue. Si tu as des tuyaux, n'hésite pas à m 'en faire part.
Même si nous avons une qualité de vie exceptionnelle le Canada n, est pas l'Eldorado.! De plus les conditions d'admissions sont de plus en plus sévères...

Pour l'apprentissage de l'anglais Ottawa et Montreal sont préférables à Sherbrooke qui est francophone`à 95%....
Ottawa est une ville tres propre et culturellement intéressante mais le soir c'est de l, autre coté de la riviere que ça se passe....(Hull)
Sherbrookois d'origine, j'habite à Joliette et j'ai un fils qui habite le centre-ville de Mtl et un merveilleux petit-fils qui habite à Hull, en face d'Ottawa.
Pour apprendre l'anglais, c'est en Outaouais (Ottawa-Hull) qu'il faut aller ou bien à Mtl.
Pour ne pas s'ennuyer, c'est à Mtl où les choses se passent.
Pour réussir ses études loin des tentations, c'est l'université de Sherb qu'il faut fréquenter. Université très bien cottée, d'ailleurs.
J'ai fait mes études universitaires à Sherbrooke et je suis revenue m'installer dans cette ville après un voyage de plus d'un an dans l'Ouest Canadien. Personnellement, j'adore Sherbrooke (et l'Estrie)! Ce n'est peut-être pas la plus belle ville du Canada, mais ca dépend ce que tu recherches. J'aime bien le compromis ville-nature qu'on retrouve ici (tous les services, night life intéressant versus plein air/montagnes à proximité). J'aimerais bien répondre plus précisément aux questions de ta soeur, mais il me faudrait davantage de renseignements!! Est-ce qu'elle vient étudier ici? (ca peut influencer pour son logement... et son style de vie! 😉)
Sherbrooke est une jolie ville du Québec.Cette ville est situé au coeur du Québec. Sa faune est magnifique. Il y a plein de jolis et pittoresques village tout autour et près des lignes américaines.
Il y a des lacs, de superbes réseaux de pistes pour cyclistes, bref pour la vie en plein air.
Il y a une vie culturelle pour tous les goûts et vous êtes à quelques kilos de plusieurs autres villes du Québec.
Le coût de la vie n'est pas plus chère, au contraire. Par ex, une même résidence de 400, 000$ dans la ville de Québec elle coûtera 250000$ à Sherbrooke. Fait vécu!

C'est une bonne idée de passer par Sherbrooke( les Cantons de l'Est ) pour venir au Québec. C'est une région très belle mais la moins connue du Québec.
Bien moi, j'ai passé 15 mois à Sherbrooke et je me suis régalé. Je confirme ce qui a été dit, un peu plus haut. Ce n'est pas la plus belle ville du Canada, mais la nature dans la région est très belle. Surtout lors de la flambée des couleurs... J'ai de très beaux souvenirs du Mt Orford à 20 km environ, de Massawipi, où je passais le plus clair de mon temps l'été avec un roman au bord du lac, ou encore de par du Mt Mégantic un peu plus loin. En outre si ta soeur aime skier, faires des ballades en raquettes, la région est pleine de petites collines très bien équipées... J'ai adoré Owl'head à 1 heure de route environ. Et puis quand le temps est un peu trop gris Montréal n'est qu'à 1h30 de route...
Coté animation, il y a qques bons restaus. En vrac j'aimais bien le Pizzicato sur king, ou l'entre ami sur la 13eme avenue. Il y a pleins de bars, de cinémas de quoi s'amuser... C'est une ville étudiante avec deux campus.
Pour le logement, j'ai trouvé mon appart en 2 jours. On voit un peu de tout, de bien comme du moins bien. C'est comme partout. En revanche, contrairement à la France pas de chèques de caution à donner, et je ne suis pas passé par une agence. Les loyers sont assez risibles par rapport à ce que l'on connait ici. J'avais un bon 2 pièces (3 et demi comme on dit la bas), eau chauffage inclus, meublé et en bon état (repeint avant mon arrivée), environ 50 m carrés pour 425 dollars, et encore c'était assez cher pour la ville. J'ai des amis qui payaient 380 pour l'équivalent mais un peu mùoins bien situé !
Un truc important c'est la situation du logement par apport au réseau de bus. L'hiver il fait froid (oui, c'est bête de le dire mais quand on choisit un appart en plein été faut en tenir compte !) et marcher 10 minutes dans le blizzard ca peut être emm... Si ta soeur veut une voiture, le mieux c'est d'aller chez les revendeurs d'occase. J'avais payé la mienne moins de 4000 dollars, une petite voiture GM de 80 000 km en bon état. Elle a très bien démaré pendant les 15 mois, même par moins 40. J'ai fait 50 000 km avec, j'avais un garagiste très sympa à Fleurimont dont j'ai fait la fortune en passant tout les 5 000 km pour faire la vidange, et acheter des pneus d'hiver (c'est vital, rouler sur autoroure avec 10-15 cm de poudreuses à 70km/h c'est marrant...). J'ai revendu le tout pour 1600 dollars, perte sèche assez important parceque je m'y suis pris un peu tard pour la revente... (un conseil : passer une annonce dans le journal local !). En tout cas, si ta soeur à le permis, acheter une voiture rend bien des services à Sherbrooke... les fins de semaine pour faire les courses par exemple, car les centre commerciaux sont assez loin en périphérie, et les bus ne passent que toutes les heures je crois. Et puis conduire au Québec est très agréable, la circulation n'es tpas la même qu'en France. En un an, je n'ai jamais entendu un coup de klaxon - sauf lorsque je suis descendu à NY !

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

The project is simple:
