Hôtel décevant pour un H10 **** et île bondée de touristes anglais et allemands sans auncun respect !!!!! LANZAROTE est 100 fois mieux, à mon goût.
Les stations balnéaires de Los Cristianos et Las Americas (et d'autres sur cette île) sont les fiefs de ces touristes qui font du tapage toute la nuit, qui se ruent sur les bains de soleil tôt le matin etc etc........
Et l'île de Tenerife en elle-même est beaucoup moins jolie, pour ma part, que celle de Lanzarote. Nous avions loué une voiture et nous avons pu aller visiter San Cristobal de la Laguna puis fait un petit tour sur la plage de Las Teresitas (sable doré ramené d'Afrique) l'après-midi. Cette plage est grande mais noire de monde (les plages plages sont assez rares sur l'île) et ce jour-là, il y avait beaucoup de vent et nous avons mangé beaucoup de sable !!!!!!!!!!
Visite aussi de Los Gigantes où nous avons fait une balade de 3 heures en mer pour approcher les grandes falaises et les dauphins et baleines pilotes. Très sympa à faire. Les falaises sont impressionantes.
Et la plus belle balade c'est l'approche du Teide. C'est vraiment magnifique. Nous sommes passés par Vilaflora et nous avons continué sur la route qui mène vers La Orotavia. Tout le long du chemin, il y a de superbes paysages. Et avec une voiture personnelle, nous pouvions nous arrêter autant de fois que nous le voulions alors que lorsque vous partez en excursion avec une agence, on vous arrête sur des sites précis. Il faisait très chaud là-haut alors que, quand nous sommes redescendu par la vallée de La Orotavia, nous étions dans le brouillard avec 10° de moins. Du coup, nous n'avons pas pu découvrir cette vallée si jolie soit-disant !!!!!!!!!! Retour vers Las Playas Americas en passant par Icod de los Vinos pour voir le célèbre dragonnier millinéaire (Boffffffffff !!!!!!!). On l'a vu, c'est bien mais c'est tout !!!!!!!!
Les routes sont bonnes mais attention elles sont souvent sinueuses avec d'inombrables virages (sauf sur l'autopista !!!)
Les plages avec du joli sable sont peu nombreuses, le plus souvent petites avec des cailloux, roches etc... l'eau pas assez chaude pour moi (évidement c'est l'Atlantique, ce n'est pas la mer des Caraïbes !!!)
Les villages n'ont rien à voir avec ceux de Lanzarote qui eux sont vraiment typiques
Les gens sont sympathiques
En résumé : nous sommes assez déçus par Tenerife. Ceci est notre propre expérience et notre avis 😉

Ah bein c'est clair, si ce n'est pas le caractère festif que vous recherchiez... fallait pas aller à Playas de las Americas...
J'espère que vous avez quand même pu dormir.... Avec cette horde de sauvages qui gueule toute les nuits ça devient vite insupportable...
Je voudrais juste ajouter un petit avis paersonnel :
J'ai failli séjourner dans l'hotel Las Palmeras. Je dis failli, car j'avais réservé et pris tous les supplements pour avoir une chambre de qualité, en étage, vue mer, etc....
En fait la chambre était ordinaire, au rez de chaussée, sans vue mer.
Comme toujours, pour ne pas se compliquer la vie les Canariens vous annoncent que de toute façon, l'hotel est complet, et que l'on ne peut pas faire le moindre changement....J'ai telephonné devant eux à ma banque pour faire bloquer la carte bleue que je venais de faire. a ce moment l'hotel à bien voulu annuler la réservation, sans la moindre excuse!
Par contre si vous n'aimer pas la foule : pourquoi choisir ce lieu (en pleine ville) et surtout la premiere quinzaine d'aout (la pire, partout).
Alors évidement, dans ces conditions, on comprend que vous n'ayez pas apprécié l'ile en général.
Par contre, dites vous bien qu'à la meme période, dans certains endroits de Lanzarote, c'est à peu pres pareil!

Et je vous rejoint sur votre point de vue concernant l'hôtel H10 Las Palmeiras... Bien que sur internet on peut lire pratiquement que des éloges sur cet établissement, on ne peut pas considérer cette usine à touristes un "4 étoiles"...
Bien que la majorité de nos clients ont apprécié les "activités" de cet hôtel, le service et la présence de cafards dans les chambres laissaient à désirer... Ah aussi le petit déjeuner parait-il laisse à désirer... qu'en pensez-vous?

Je suis allé à Las Americas fin janvier à l'Hotel Playa Troya et je souhaiterais un peu nuancer ce qui est écrit dans cette discussion:il y avait là-bas principalement des anglais et irlandais...d'ailleurs, l'ambiance est british avec de nombreux pubs !! J'ai vu peu d'Allemands et Hollandais contrairement à ce qui est écrit!! On m'a dit que les Allemands préfèraient le Nord de l'ile , surtout vers Puerto de la Cruz....Capucine ou une autre personne conaissant bien Tenerife peuvent sans doute confirmer celà. Autre chose : il parait qu'à Los Cristianos, il y a des Scandinaves ( Danois, Norvégiens, Suédois entre autres ) Etes-vous au courant ?? Hum je comprends ta déception ayant passé 2 semaines à Tenerife en Novembre.
Par contre, ayant beaucoup randonné, j'ai particulièrement adoré Tenerife: le Teide, les Monts Anaga, Massif de Masca...il y a de quoi faire!
Au final on est jamais allé dans le sud de l'île et ça nous à pas manqué!

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?
On the way back, if we have a little time to explore Bern’s historic old town, what’s the best parking plan for a 1- or 2-hour stop?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
