Je suis vraiment triste car c'est juste le voyage de notre vie...
Pensez-vous que nous avons quand même moyen de passer un agréable séjour ?? Visiter, se promener, se baigner ??
t'as pas une idée des quantité en mm des pluies?? en général les pluies tombe à cette période mais pas autant , le climat et tropical de toute les maniére il fait pas froid , et meme en pleuvant vous pourriez vous baladez , ça ferait ambiance "vacance aventure" , j'ai visité le mexique en Avril dernier j'ai aussi verifié les previsions surtout celle du sud , j'avais trouvé qu'il ya de la pluie à Mérida et cancun et riviera maya quelque jour (j'etais deçu) mais figure toi qu'il n'y a pas eu ni une goute d'eau pendant tout le sejour , du soleil à 100% . bon voyage.

Par contre les jours d'avant pas grand chose , il se peut qu'il ne pleut meme pas , faut pas se fier au prévision de 14jours , car les vents peuvent devier à n'importe quelle heure . quand j'etais à mérida j'avais sur mon iphone comme prevision de la pluie le lendemain et le lendemain il faisait 36 degré C et pas de pluie . peut etre aprés le 5 juin ça va revenir au calme mais ce jour là ils prevoit 50 mm.

Pas de prise de tête surtout.
J'y suis déjà allée 2 fois, une fois en avril et une fois en juillet. A chaque fois le temps annoncé était affreux. Notre 1er séjour d'une semaine en avril 2011 a été arrosé d'au moins 3 ou 4 minutes de pluie, nous n'avons même pas eu à nous mettre à l'abri ! Pour notre 2ème séjour de 2 semaines en juillet 2012, j'étais plus inquiète car c'est la saison des pluies. Nous avons eu 2 jours gris mais très chauds (baignade tout de même agréable). Souvent le temps se couvrait le soir vers 16 ou 17h (heure à laquelle le soleil commence à décliner sérieusement déjà donc pas bien grave) et quelques averses de quelques minutes par ci par là mais le soleil de retour aussitôt.
Donc voilà, évidemment je ne peux rien garantir mais ne vous en faites pas...... de toute façon, vu le temps qu'on a en ce moment, pas de regrets à avoir !!! 😛
Je vous souhaite un excellent voyage, le Mexique c'est le paradis (...j'y retourne encore en juillet et pour 3 semaines cette fois !! J'ai hâte! ) !!

Nous aimerions aussi faire Sian Ka an et Chichen Itza mais ça va faire beaucoup niveau budget !
Si je peux me permettre un petit conseil je trouve dommage votre choix d'excursion si votre budget est serré.
L'excursion tierra maya (au passage, l'agence paseo tours est extra à des prix défiant toute concurrence) comprend le site de Tulum, la playa paraiso, la plage d'akumal pour nager avec les tortues et un cenote : tout des choses que vous pouvez faire par vous même pour une bouchée de pain en utilisant les collectivos (mini-bus locaux) ou taxis. J'aurais plutôt misé sur les 2 autres Sian Ka'an et Chichen Itza et fait tout ça seule. Ca réduit votre budget et vous pouvez tout faire.
Le Gran Cenote est génial (à Tulum) et il y a la lagune de Yal-Ku aussi à faire à côté de la plage d'Akumal.

Nous aussi nous avons fait toutes les visites par nous même en voiture puisque nous louons toujours une voiture pour tous nos séjours en Riviera maya et ce depuis l'aéroport de Cancùn
On fait une bonne économie par rapport aux prix demandé par les agences
Il est facile de visiter soit en achetant un livre sur le site expliquant soit avec un livre vendu aussi sur place expliquant la civilisation Maya de plus il y a des panneaux expliquant les monument en anglais et aussi on peux prendre sur place un Guide maya ou non assermenté pour peu de pesos
Il y a des restaurants sur les sites ou l'on mange a peu de frais
Avec mon épouse, nous sommes installés à Tulum et dans cette région du Mexique (Quintana Roo) la météo est effectivement très variable selon la période de l'année et où l'on se trouve dans la péninsule du Yucatan. Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Mahahual ou l'autre côte, Merida, Campeche, quel que soit les prévisions cela peut changer à chaque instant. La pluie est la bienvenue lorsqu'il fait très chaud.
Le voyage de votre vie sera extraordinaire, car si vous avez l'esprit d'aventures et de découvertes, vous trouverez des activités à faire par tous les climats, pluie ou pas pluie.
Les Cenotes où vous y découvrirez une vie fabuleuse en nageant dans une eau douce et translucide, Akumal où les tortues nageront avec vous en toute liberté, la parc de Sian Ka'an, biosphère extraordinaire à parcourir en Jeep ou à VTT selon votre capacité physique, les pélicans vous accompagneront qu'il pleuve ou pas. Si vous poussez jusqu'à Punta Alen où vous irez en bateau découvrir une mer des Caraîbes qui vaut toute les mers du monde, les dauphins seront au rendez-vous et vous irez nager avec eux sans devoir les découvrir dans les parcs qui vous proposent des prix exhorbitants (Xcaret - Xplore - Delphinaris etc.). Mahahual, mélange entre Maldives et Seychelles où la vie s'agite au gré des paquebots qui accostent et déversent leurs passagers quelques fois par semaine. Baccalar, la lagune au 7 couleurs et ses petits restaurants où un cuisinier français vous concoctera un plat typique mexicain (son plat d'Arrachera est à mourir).
La ville de Campeche, située en bordure du golfe du Mexique est merveilleuse et la promenade le long du Malecone (bord der mer) et romantique à souhait. Une très belle statue d'une jeune femme qui attend le retour de son homme en scrutant au loin est tout un film romantique qui se déroule sous vos yeux en contemplant le coucher du soleil.
Et puis tant et tant de lieux rendus magiques par les ruines Mayas, la jungle mystérieuse où vous ferez des rencontres parfois surprenantes. Les Mexicains Mayas sont d'une gentillesse immense et ont la chaleur du coeur qui vous laisseront une souvenir inoubliable du voyage de votre vie.

Connais pas ni le parc (attrape touristes )ni l'hôtel nous on va a Akumal Playa dans un petits hôtel appartement ( 16 unités)trouvé il y a de nombreuses années sur le net
Si c'est prés de Xacaret c'est après Playa en direction du sud mais ce n'est pas tout a fait le sud de la Riviera Maya c'est plutôt le milieu
il y en a ceux qui ont aimé Xcaret (moi j'ai aimé le show du soir) d'autre qui aime l'autre parc purement activité aquatique le "Xel-ha" . à vous de voir :) .

Pour moi et mes amis Mexicains les deux sont des attrapes touristes allez plutôt voir les sites Maya en solo sans passer par les Agences Francophones qui sont aussi a de rares exceptions prés des attrapes Touristes

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.
Since the weather is a big risk during this period, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
