Je suppose que cette question à déjà étais posé mais j'aimerai quelque précisions de personnes avisés ayant quitté la métropole pour vivre aux Antilles.
nous avons comme projet moi et ma femme avec notre fils de 22mois de nous laisser 1ans pour monter notre potentiel départ, nous en sommes pour l'instant aux choix de la destinations(Martinique, Guadeloupe, Réunions), une fois que nous aurons privilégiés un lieux de vie nous y partirons premièrement 1mois pour voir si nous avons envies de faire notre vie las-bas.
j'aimerais avoir des impressions sur ces trois destinations, sur l'emploi(nous sommes dans le commerce mon amie et moi-même ), le logement, les habitants.
Je doit aussi préciser que nos motivations ne sont pas simplement pour le climat et la mer, c'est une expérience de vie plutôt, nous voulons vraiment vivre au milieux des locaux et ne pas rester entre métropolitains , et faire découvrir cela à notre fils.nous sommes des gens simples et souhaitons continué à vivre ainsi.
J'entends parler de racisme envers les blancs, que les gens repartent aux bout de six mois, je ne peut le croire.j'aimerais vraiment des avis sur ce sujet.si cela est du racisme du type en France les gens du sud envers les parisiens? car si c'est cela, c'est pas bien méchant.
Votre projet c'est celui que nous avions, ma femme et moi, il y a quelques années.
Nous sommes venu en GUADELOUPE, en vacances, en 1997 pour 15 jours et nous sommes tombés amoureux de cette île. Mais je pense que beaucoup de personnes tombent amoureux de la GUADELOUPE quand ils viennent la première fois.
Nous sommes revenu en 2005 pour 1 semaine car nous avons fait un combiné GUADELOUPE, MARTINIQUE et une croisière de 8 jours dans les CARAÏBES.
Nous ne sommes pas tombés amoureux de la MARTINIQUE pour X raisons que je ne citerait pas ici maintenant, mais nous avons continué à être amoureux de la GUADELOUPE. En partant nous avons décidé de tout faire pour venir travailler prochainement sur cette île.
Nous avons 4 enfants( 2 chacun) mais majeurs et en majorité caser donc plus facile à gérer.
J'ai cherché du travail sur le site de l'ANPE et des petites annonces locales, mais rien de concluant. J'ai étendu mes recherches sur la MARTINIQUE pour me rapproché de la GUADELOUPE et pour faire éventuellement un test d’acclimatation tropical. Mais rien, aucun contact positif et encore moins de réponse à tous mes courriers. Mais je persiste et élargie mon rayon d'action, direction la REUNION. Après très peu de courrier je reçoit un coup de téléphone pour un job à la REUNION.
1 mois plus tard j'était à ST BENOIT du côté est de l'île et ma femme m'a rejoint 1 mois et demi plus tard le temps d'expédier nos affaires et la voiture.
Nous étions parti pour notre essai en zone tropicale. 1 an plus tard, après consultation commune du positif et du négatif, nous avons décidé de continué et de vendre notre maison en FRANCE, mais de retourné en GUADELOUPE pour nous y installer et créé un commerce.
La vie sur une île nous convenait, mais pas la REUNION. C'est une île magnifique, très beaux paysages, mais trop éloignée de la FRANCE, donc très cher pour le billet d'avion, la famille ne viens pas à cause du prix du billet. De plus vous vous sentez seule au monde quand vous faites le tour de la REUNION, c'est toujours la même chose, la montagne d'un côté et la mer de l'autre, rien à l'horizon, pas même un petit bout d'île qui dépasse au loin. Les voyages dans les pays proche sont plus cher que de partir de FRANCE ( 5 nuits sur l'île MAURICE entre 800 et 1000€ ). Pour nous, la REUNION c'est très bien en vacances mais pas pour passer une vie entière.
Du coup on est venu en GUADELOUPE en 2007 pour ouvrir un commerce et ou est encore la et on a pas envie de partir pour le moment.
Pour ce qui est du racisme, nous ne l'avons jamais ressenti, sauf peur être pendant les mouvement sociaux de 2009, mais par une poignée de fanatique. Je ne sais pas s'il y a plus de racisme ici qu'en FRANCE dans certaine région ou banlieue, mais si vous n'arrivez pas ici comme dans un pays conquit avec des idées bizarres et que vous êtes conviviales, il n'y aura pas de problème pour vous installer.

Bonjour, tu vas recevoir des avis contraires, les gens que je connais et qui ont tenté l'aventure sont soit revenus écoeurés soit y sont encore (a la Martinique) mais n'ont pas beaucoup de contact avec la population locale (sauf dans le travail) il y a du racisme, on te fait comprendre que tu n'es pas chez toi. Mais il vaut mieux que tu y ailles pour voir par toi meme, si cela est supportable pour toi. Coté travail pas de problème pour un métro, tu trouveras et ta femme aussi.

Souvent une arrivée pour un court contrat d'un an ou 2 ; souvant une expérience ailleurs avant de venir en Guadeloupe ; souvent des origines mixtes et souvent 1 ou 2 enfants nés ici .
Pour ce qui peut faire que les gens ne restent pas ..... l'un ou l'autre ne travaille pas ; ou a du mal à supporter l'eloignement avec sa famille ou ne s'adapte pas aux "différences des autres "
Nous avons pourtant vu une famille de voisins dont le mari etait militaire muté pour 2 ans seulement et dont l'épouse ne supportait vraiment pas durant les 9 prémiers mois et lorsqu'ils sont partis au bout de 2 ans elle pleurait et regrettait la mutation...à...Paris
Nous étions venu avec un contrat d'un an ; mon épouse a trouvé un travail au bout de 2 ans le temps que notre fille naisse; notre fils avait 30 mois lorsque nous sommes arrivés
je pense qu'il faut étre prét tout simplement et cela à l'isntant "T"! mais ça ne se commande pas. Nous n'avions pas la moindre idée de se projeter dans une telle tranche de vie lorsque j'ai quitter un travail en Suisse tres bien remunéré et que nous avons pris l'avion en ayant fait auparavent un démenagement en garde meubles et tout cela en 3 semaines aprés etre venu 1 semaine prendre contact dans la société qui me proposait un Job

Pour ma part, je viens régulièrement en Guadeloupe, mes enfants se sont installés et je me sens bien aussi.
Je pense que pour un métro, ce n'est pas du tout comme en métropole ou personne, aucun voisin ne se parle, ni ne dit bonjour. Ici la population locale justement aime le contact, le bonjour, comment çà va...
Ils savent apprécier les personnes qui sont égales à elle même. J'ai fait la rentrée scolaire avec mes petits fils hier, et je n'ai ressenti aucun racisme.
Je ne sais pas si d'autres ont le même ressenti que moi ?
C'est tout de meme agréable en plus, d'avoir le soleil, la mer bleue, pas besoin de manteau.. et du travail...
