It lived its heyday under the name of Philadelphia, during the time of the Roman emperor Trajan. Our first stop will be the Citadel, the former citadel of the city, now the scene of the ruins of different cultures and religions (e.g., Temple of Hercules, Byzantine Basilica, etc.). Then comes the theater from Roman times, which was once able to accommodate up to 6,000 people and is still a venue for events after its renovation. The program continues in the city center: market, churches, mosques and finally we will see the new modern city quarter. In the afternoon, we travel to Jerash, which also enjoyed its heyday under Roman rule, and then began to decline. The city begins to develop again around the 19th century. Jerash is the second most popular tourist destination in Jordan after Petra! This is also due to the fact that the buildings from the Roman and Byzantine times have survived in exceptionally good condition.
