Je pars pour le royal décameron au panama le 17 janvier 2011.
J'ai vu sur internet qu'il y avait de la pluie et un front froid sur le panama dernierement.
Est-ce que quelqu'un revient du panama dans les derniers jours et comment est la température.

Nous sommes arrivés à Panama le 20 décembre 2010...et repartis aujourd'hui le 3 Janvier 2011

Nous étions au "Royal Décaméron"...
La température a été "excellente" du 20 au 25 décembre...c.a.d. soleil et temp. 28 à 33..environ.Ensuite...nous avons eu de la pluie mais avec beaucoup de belles périodes ensoleillées...
Cette semaine, du 27 au 3 Janvier, chaude température avec plus de périodes de pluie mais qui ne nous déplaisait pas vu la chaleur....30 à 35...
Nous sommes partis vers 10hres au soleil...mais durant le trajet pour l'aéroport, il y a eu de la pluie...
Température parfaite...un p'tit peu de pluie nous fait du bien!...

Est-ce très sévère? Peut-on quand meme fumer dans les chemins, a la piscine et a l'extérieur des restos, bars, lobby etc..
Car ca dit qu'on peut juste sur les balcons et sur la plage.
Pour les restos, si tu as des trucs a me donner pour les réservations et le choix des meilleurs restos, j'aimerais bien.Egalement est-ce obligatoire pour les monsieurs de porter un pantalon long et des souliers fermés, ou ils peuvent en bermudas et en gougounes??
Est-ce que tu sais également si on peut louer un mini-frigo pour notre chambre??

--oui c'est interdit et assez sévère...les endroits semblent assez restreints...J'ai vu des gens à la plage qui se cachaient pour fumer...qui surveillaient les gardiens qui se promenaient...

--Pour le jour...Ce qu'ils ne veulent pas ce sont des gens en costume de bain dans les restos.Tu n'as qu'à mettre un long teeshirt par dessus ton costume de bainou une mante et le tour est joué!
Le soir les gens s'habillent...il y a des chics et des moins chics.. mais "les gars" n'ont pas toujours des pantalons longs et des souliers fermés...

--Il y a beaucoup de marches c'est vrai...mis ça se fait bien.
Ce sont tous des "blocs"Le bloc 10-11etc-27-28etc..40-41etc...Et il y a 3 lobbys Le 1, le 2et le 3 Les blocs sont situés en groupe près d'un "lobby" ou tu fais tes réservations et tout....
J'avais dit à l'agente que je ne voulais pas trop de marches...J.'étais près du lobby1(Chambre1003) avec autant de marches. mes filles étaient dans les blocs 42 et se trouvaient mieux placé que moi quand ce ne sont pas des marches, les chemins sont en pente...

Le front froid, ce n'est jamais en dessous de 26 degrés.
Mais le problème de ce front froid est du phénomène de "la Niña" c'est la pluie, qui n'est pas de saison, puisque théoriquement nous sommes en saison sèche.
Mais la région du Decameron est plus protégée que l'Est du pays où il y a eu des inondations sevères, surtout dans le Darien, et les régions prés de la cote Caraibes, entre autres Colon, Portobelo, avec glissements de terrain, maisons emportées .....
A présent les pluies sont plus rares, mais la situation n'est pas rétablie dans les zones sinistrées.
Pour continuer avec notre voyage à Panama, je tiens à te dire que c'est un très long voyage...5hres d'avion +2h30 d'autobus...mais je ne regrette rien...tout se passe très bien...
Sur le site, il y a 2 "restaurants buffet" toujours ouvert et sans réservation..."Atlantis et Pacifico" avec de bons choix.
Il y a des restaurants où on peut réserver pour le souper"Japonais, Thaïlandais, Grill, Canal, Italien et méditerranéens et peut-être d'autres...
Nous sommes allés à Grill "assez bon".....Canal(fruits de mer)" pas fameux"...Japonais...?? Alors nous avons jeté notre dévolu sur "Italien"(Le Panamais")vers la fin, nous allions presque toujours là, c'est vrai qu'il était tout près mais il y avait de bons choix!...Ah oui! nous sommes allés à "Pêche d'un jour"Ouf...le poisson complet dans l'assiette...Non merci!
Et pour ta question, quel serait mon choix?...je prendrais vers le 40-42...c'est près des lobbys 2et3...et tu descends "la côte" et tout est là...restaurants...plage... en tout cas, pas 47-48 car c'est tout près de la discothèque et....ça se termine tard...
Moi je suis revenu ce lundi 10 janvier, j'y suis resté du 3 au 10 et nous avons eu 2 seules journées nuageuse mais ne nous empêchant pas de se baigner. Faut dire qu'il faisait quand même près de 30 degrés. Ce site mérite amplement selon moi ces 4 étoiles et demie. Que du bon à en dire. Seul petit point négatif, pas de kleenex ni de frigo dans les chambres. Si vous êtes des "mangeux" de beurre de peanut pour déjeuner, apportez-le lollll Y'en a passsssssssss 😉. Je voyais des gens s'asseoir avec leur petit pot de kraft et j'en salivais lollll. Sur ce, je te souhaite un exellent voyage (je n'en doute aucunement) et faites attention au soleil...Il est trèssssss dangeureux 😎

Il y a beaucoup de chaises à la plage, il y en a toujours de libres. Les gens restent plutôt autour des piscines...
on est amateur de vin est il bon ou c est mieux d en apporter !
Nous avons bu du vin mais n'étant pas de grands amateurs, nous l'avons trouvé "correct", mais...nous avons remarqué que des gens apportaient leur vin, c'est probablement pour cette raison...

Bien oui il y a internet, non pas dans les chambres mais au lobby...
Nous, nous étions au "lobby1" et il y avait deux ordinateurs à notre disposition. Il fallait s'acheter une carte d'appel de 2$-5$ ou 10$ et tout allait à merveille...

Je reviens du Royal Decameron et ils ont WI-FI.
Ca coute 15$ US pour 24 hres pour accéder au rooter
Moi j'ai acheté une carte a 10$ pour 1 heure et j'utilisais les ordis du lobby 1
C'etait assez pour moi

J'ai adoré cet endroit. Chaleur assurée. Propreté et vegetation superbe! Mais si quelqu'un y va pour la mer il va etre un peu décu.
Moi j'ai surtout fais de la piscine.
Pour le vin, si tu es un amateur, il est preferable de t'en procurer.
Il y a des bouteilles a vendre dans la boutique du lobby 3.Les autres boutiques des lobby 1 et 2, j'ai par remarqué si il y en avait.
Pour les restos, nous y sommes aller tout de suite le premier matin, vers 9:30 am, avant le meeting
et nous avons reussi a reserver nos 3 restos pour la semaines tres facilement.
Nous avons meme retourner le samedi matin pour reserver un 4e resto et sans probleme, nous l'avons eu pour le soir meme.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

I’ve looked into a few different options: Brazil, Cambodia, and Ecuador. The last one really appeals to me, but what’s making me hesitate is the risk of our trip being a bit too rainy (literally ),
We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
