Je peux te dire comment je fais.J'ai pris mon visa double entree en France.Je suis arrive a Pattaya depuis janvier, apres deux mois, j'ai du sortir de thailande (aller a une frontiere dans la journee suffit), il m'ont donne un visa pour 2 mois supplementaires. Apres en theorie, les services d'immigration m'ont assure que je pouvais avoir 2 extentions de 1 mois : a voir.

je suis en thailande depuis le 15 oct 2006, arrivé avec un visa touristique deux entrée ( 2x60 jours). A la fin de mes premiers soixantes jours, j'ai payé pour une extension de trente jours. puis voyage au cambodge voir Angkor, puis j'ai refait la meme opération : à la fin de mes soixantes jours, je paye pour 30 jours (ce qui donne 90 jours sans sortir de thailande, une sortie, et à nouveaux 90 jours).
Là j'arrvive dans une semaine à la fin de mon visa, mais je souhaite rester en thailande necore deux mois ( ma copine francaise est prof dans une fac ici).
avant de venir, sa référante francaise de l'ambassade lui avait certifiée que je pourrais faire mes 2x90jours grace à mon visa double entré, puis à la fin de la validité de ce dernier, aprés une sortie de thailande, renchainer sur le systeme des 30 jours visa on arrival.
soit : 90 jours/sortie/90 jours (jen suis la!)/sortie/30 jours/ sortie/ 30 jours/ retour en france

C'est normal qu'ils n'aient pas pu te repondre puisque celui qui decidera de ca c'est le type qui te tamponnera ton passeport quand tu rentreras en Thailande. C'est a la tete du client, et s'il decide que tu es reste trop longtemps ou bien qu'il pense que peut-etre tu travail illegalement en Thailande etc... il peut te refuser.
Actuellement, si tu rentres pour juste 30 jours sans visa, tu dois presenter un billet d'avion retour dont la date de depart doit etre imperativement avant la fin de ton sejour de 30j.

Ils vont s'apercevoir que ton passeport est en France et toi en Malaisie puisqu'il y aura un tampon d'entree mais pas de tampon de sortie. Tu as de grande chance de ne pas avoir le moindre visa.
Sans oublier qu'en cas de controle en Malaysie, si tu n'as pas ton passeport a ce moment-la tu risques de sacres ennuis (ils penseront que tu y es rentre clandestinement).

Normalement - en tout cas, ce que moi j'ai compris apres m'etre personnellement deplace au service de l'immigration a Bangkok - on ne doit pas pouvoir rester plus de 90 jours sur le territoire Thailandais par periode de six mois ... sans visa officiel ( c'est a dire, sejours successifs de 30 jours maximum ).
La prolongation ( au service de l'immigration, en Thailande ) de 30 jours suite a un visa touristique officiel ( timbre colle sur le passeport ) est tout a fait d'actualite. Bon.
Si un visa touristique officiel double entree a ete accorde, il est possible de prolonger chaque periode de 60 jours par un sejour supplementaire de 30 jours en payant 1.900 Bath au service de l'immigration d'une ville Thailandaise : ce qui confirme les deux sejours successifs de 90 jours d'une traite, sans sortir de Thailande.
La premiere periode de six mois etant ecoulee, on demarre logiquement un second semestre ... et il devrait etre possible d'envisager un sejour n'excedant pas 90 jours ( en trois tranches de 30 jours, avec sorties du territoire intermediaires ... en Malaisie ou au Myanmar, par exemple ) ... Seulement la : attention !
Ce cas de figure ne s'est pas encore produit puisque la loi en question ne date que d'Octobre 2006 ( et je ne lis pas le Thailandais dans le texte ... ).
J'ai cru comprendre ( mais on entre la dans le domaine du subjectif ) que les autorites Thailandaises ne souhaitaient pas que les "touristes" puissent sejourner plus que six mois par an dans leur pays : a confirmer ?

Pendant quelques temps oui, mais apres il va y avoir quelques problemes: comment vas-tu justifier de tes revenus ou d'un emploi? Tu touches une pension, des interets ou autres qui te permettent de vivre comme ca? Car si tu passes ton temp en tant que "touriste perpetuel" en Thailande et en Malaisie sans raison (ni marie avec une ressortissante du pays, ni retraite...) ils vont penser que tu travailles illegalement dans ces pays. Pour l'immigration, un touriste c'est quelqu'un qui vient quelques semaines ou mois puis passe la plus grande partie de son temp a bosser dans son pays d'origine. Un tourite perpetuel c'est plutot suspect pour eux.
Si tu as de l'argent, c'est possible d'obtenir un visa de 5 ans (Social Visit Pass) en Malaisie.
je suis graphiste, je travaille de chez moi sur ordinateur, tous mes contrats sont font par le net, ce qui me permet de vivre un peu ou je veux....en fait c est un statut d'independant ou de freelance....mais je ne penses pas que le gouvernement thai accepte ce genre de statut pour les etranger, si c est le cas, ca m arrangerait beaucoup, mais je ne peux pas embaucher des thais juste pour vivre la bas...donc je pourrais vivre 6 mois en thailande et 6 mois en malaisie...

Pour les freelances, c'est impossible d'obtenir un work permit, ou que tu ailles sauf bien entendu si tu bosses pour une societe locale et paies des impots dans le pays ou tu seras.
Le visa de 5ans en Malaisie ne te donne pas le droit de bosser non plus (cela dit, quand tu vas la-bas sans visa tu as automatiquement 3 mois comme visa on arrival). A la rigueur leur dire que tu as des revenus de l'etranger qui tombent chaque mois pourrait faire l'affaire pour le Social Visit Pass mais tu as plutot interet a etre tres discret a propos de tes activites.
Quant a la Thailande, il n'y pas de solution. Au debut tu devrais peut-etre pouvoir rester 2 ans comme ca, a condition que le consulat en France n'en ai pas marre de te donner des visas, mais apres c'est le hasard total et a tout moment tu peux de te faire refouler. Mais dans ce cas, si tu as un Social Visit Pass, tu retournes en Malaisie et attends quelques mois avant de tenter une nouvelle entree en Thailande.
d'aprés une info de soirée, il serait peut etre possible de jouer avec les visas de transit dans le pire de cas! en tout cas il ne semblerait pas que sur le papier mon opération soit impossible, mais il est vrai que le probleme reste l'appréciation subjective lors du controle d'entrer sur le sol thailandais!
en tout cas la doyenne de la fac où bosse ma copine va me faire des lettres de recommandation, cela ne peut etre qu'utile. demain je vais voir au consulat français.

Pour avoir un work permit tu dois bosser pour des thais, et faire un boulot qu'un thai ne pourrait pas faire. Si tu bosses pour des francais ou autres ils te diront que tu n'as pas besoin de venir en Thailande pour ca et que donc tu peux rester en France.
Quand tu es freelance tu ne peux pas esperer le moindre work permit tant que tu ne bosses pas pour une societe locale, et encore ce n'est meme pas sur. C'est partout pareil, helas. En Thailande il y en a pas mal qui bossent comme ca discretement sur internet (graphisme, webmaster, ou simplement gerent leurs actions en bourses sur la plage avec leur PC portables...) Mais ils sont generalement maries avec une Thai ce qui leur donnent le droit de rester (mais pas de bosser).
Mais ... c'est tout naturel : ce forum est fait specialement pour ceux qui cherchent des tuyaux utiles ... et pour ceux qui peuvent en donner, en fonction des circonstances.

donc ce week end dirction kuala lumpur, et normalement c'est reparti pour 60 jours en thailande!

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.
Is this real or just a hoax?
Thanks, I’m leaving in 3 weeks. My passport is good to go and my ETA is still valid for a year, but I only printed the email I received.
