tout d'abord je voudrais m'excuser pour la naïveté de ce qui va suivre, et mon manque de connaissance sur le sujet. je suis juste ici pour être éclairé.
voilà, je suis étudiant en deuxième année d'un dut mesures physiques et je voudrais travailler pendant mes vacances (2013 et/ou 2014 sachant que je continue mes études) aux états-unis, plus particulièrement à new-york. Sur tout le forum, il y a des discussions qui disent que c'est très dur de travailler là-bas, et qui ne parlent que de "petits boulots dans des restaurants", ce qui ne m'intéresse pas. je voudrais exploiter mon diplôme, travailler en tant que technicien. Mais à chaque fois que j'ai cette idée en tête, elle s'en va direct parce que je me dis que c'est impossible à cause du problème du logement, du problème de trouver une entreprise, du problème du visa.
est-ce que travailler en tant que technicien aux états-unis avec un bac +2 est impossible?
sinon, comment résoudre les problèmes cités plus haut?
est-ce que deux mois est une durée trop courte pour ce que je veux organiser?

Je pense que rien n'est impossible dans la vie! Mais une chose est sûre, trouver un emploi à NY n'est certainement pas facile quand on n'est pas Américain ou détenteur d'une green card.
Pourquoi n'essayerais-tu pas de trouver un stage là-bas? Il te faudra un visa J-1, ce qui est assez facile à obtenir car pas besoin d'être sponsorisé par l'employeur, juste par un organisme qui délivre le formulaire.
Une fois cette expérience de travail, il te sera plus facile de trouver un emploi par la suite.
Le défi sera de trouver un entreprise qui te prenne un stage, mais c'est possible. Envoie des candidatures, fait des suivis (par téléphone c'est mieux), du réseautage, par exemple parle avec tes professeurs qui ont peut-être des contacts là-bas, utilise LinkedIn, etc. N'oublie pas de soumettre un CV dans les normes nord-américaines et une lettre de candidature.
Il y a des milliers d'étrangers qui trouvent des stages aux États-Unis dans leur domaine chaque année donc tu peux aussi y arriver.
Pour le logement, tu verras ça une fois que tu auras trouvé un emploi (ou un stage). Inutile de stresser à propos du logement, une étape à la fois 😉
Ça demande vraiment beaucoup de travail et de persévérance pour trouver un poste mais pour réussir à NY seuls les plus déterminés survivent!

je pense que tu as raison, l'idée d'un stage là-bas mes semble bien parce que ça enlève le problème du visa pour un séjour à long terme,
de plus, mon dut se termine par un stage de deux mois, avril-juin 2014. le problème c'est qu'il faut en trouver un rémunéré, et/ou travailler avant d'y aller, et je sais pas s'il n'est pas trop tard l'organiser.

Ça te donne 5 mois pour faire tes recherches, c'est amplement de temps pour trouver si tu y travailles un peu chaque jour 🙂
Quant à la rémunération, c'est à toi de négocier avec l'employeur, en fait tous se négocie avec l'employeur.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
