Concernant le cout de la vie, je pense vraiment que hormis la région de Siem Reap pour cause de Angkorland, c'est un pays hyper bon marché, mais je te confirmerais celà.......
Pour les conditions de travail là bas, adresse toi au membre Parvat qui a séjourné là bas durant presque une année me semble t il, mais surtout y a travaillé, donc elle est à même de te fournir de bons tuyaux......
J'y ai passé 5 mois en 96- 97. Pour le visa, j'avais acheté un biseness visa, renouvelable. Et pour le boulot, j'ai fait une traduction anglais français, ensuite j'ai eu du bol, j'ai trouvé une place de gérante d'un pub irlandais :)
Pour apprendre l'anglais, euh... bof, c'est vraiment pas le meilleur coin, ya beaucoup d'expats francophones quand même...
Je dormais d'abord dans un guest house, puis chez une amie expat', ensuite je me suis louée un p'tit appart.
Et effectivement, à part "Angkorland" (comme à ce qu'il paraît c'est devenu) c'est très bon marché comme pays.
En 90, je ne parlais pas encore bien l'anglais du tout, à Bangkok j'ai pu enseigner le français, mais je ne gagnais pas des masses...

Coté logement, la situation est très variable d'une ville à l'autre (et évolue très vite). A Phnom Penh, en ce moment, c'est assez facile de trouver. Un peu de tout: du compartiment chinois à la villa thaï en passant par la maison khmère en bois sur pilotis. Les premiers prix pour un appartement habitable par un occidental (2 pièces avec un minimum de confort: eau courante, électricité, salle de bain, cuisine) sont de l'ordre de 150 à 200 USD/mois. Une villa "normale" se loue entre 500 et 800 USD/mois. Evidemment, tu as à l'autre bout du spectre des villas grand luxe pour 1200-1500 USD/mois. En général, les prix ne sont pas fonction de la durée. En revanche, tu peux facilement obtenir que le logement soit meublé. Le mieux à faire c'est de s'installer dans une guesthouse en arrivant, de contacter 1 ou 2 agences (indispensable pour l'interprétariat) et de commencer les visites. Tous ceux que je connais ont trouvé leur bonheur en moins d'une semaine. En se baladant dans la rue, on peut aussi repérer les panneaux "for rent" et téléphoner ou contacter le gardien pour visiter (si on parle khmer).
Pour les visas, 2 solutions:
Soit tu rentres avec un visa touriste (20 USD à l'aéroport) valable un mois et renouvelable 1 fois pour un mois. Après, tu es contraint d'aller te ballader régulièrement en thaïlande (où le visa est gratuit) pour te le faire renouveler.
Soit, tu rentres avec un visa affaires (T - 25 USD à l'aéroport) et normalement, tu peux le faire renouveler chaque année.
Evidemment, on peut travailler là bas. Ca dépend de ce que tu sais faire! Les salaires locaux sont assez bas. Il ne faut pas trop compter trouver qqchose dans les entreprises locales quand on ne maitrise pas le khmer. Quelques entreprises occidentales sont contentes de trouver de jeunes occidentaux pour pas cher. Des ONG recrutent également des gens. Des écoles privés peuvent rechercher des profs...
Le Cambodge n'est pas un pays anglophone! Même si l'anglais est devenue la langue étrangère numéro 1 (avant, c'était le français, Indochine oblige), on y parle khmer. A mon avis, ce n'est pas vraiment un pays où on peut décemment pratiquer l'anglais du quotidien. Dans mon boulot, je jongle quotidiennement entre le français, l'anglais et le khmer en fonction de mon interlocuteur. On peut en revanche prendre des cours. Il existe pour cela plusieurs écoles (de qualités très diverses).

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
I believe it’s time to bring this space to life to meet pressing needs and serve the common good of society.
The project is simple:
1) Grow maize + build a processing plant to produce flour
2) Open a mini supermarket + a modern bakery using the flour for pastries, etc.

4) Build a nursery and primary school
5) Construct free housing for retired expatriates in exchange for their voluntary contributions in their respective fields.
