Notre histoire récente :
Nous devions faire le vol Cusco-Lima ce mercredi 18 septembre
Vol LA2046 décollage à 11h31. Nous avions connexion avec AirFrance à Lima décollage 18h20. Compte tenu de ce que le vol de Cusco à Lima est d'environ 01h30, nous étions largement
dans les temps...
Lorsque nous nous sommes présentés à l'aéroport de Cusco, il nous a été dit froidement : Le vol est annulé...il est reporté à 12h45. Pas de problème, on est encore dans les temps...
C'est ensuite que cela devient tragi-comique et que la communauté doit être prévenue...
A 13h00, tout le monde est dans l'avion. Bien...
Une hôtesse dit alors : 'Compte tenu de la température et de notre charge, 20 volontaires doivent quitter l'avion...'
Il fait 24 degrés et tous les avions décollent...Soit...
Il faut une heure pour que ces volontaires sortent et récupèrent leurs valises...
On ferme les portes et l'avion se rend vers la piste de décollage...pour faire demi-tour et revenir à la casé départ...
'On est encore trop lourd' dit l'hôtesse...
Il faudra que nous interrogions Airbus...
'Il faut à nouveau 10 volontaires'...On croit rêver...
A nouveau une petite heure...
Nouvelle surprise : 'Tout le monde descend ...svp'
Cela devient irréaliste...
Compte tenu des circonstances, un petit groupe de français et belges se constituent. Nous prenons contact avec les gens de Latam pour expliquer notre connexion et son heure de départ.
Ils nous promettent de prendre contact avec Air France pour les prévenir d'un risque de retard. Ils nous affirment ensuite avoir pris contact et que Air France connaît notre situation...
Malhonnêtes et menteurs...
Le vol a finalement décollé vers 17h10. Nous sommes arrivés à Lima à 18h25...Vous devinez la suite...
La connexion a été ratée...
Tout le petit groupe s'est précipité vers un guichet Latam pour s'entendre dire ' Ce n'est pas notre problème' et montrer une indifférence crasse... Quel service à sa clientèle !!!
Si vous comptez voyager avec eux, vous voilà prévenus...
Sachez que finalement le lendemain, nous avons eu contact avec la super représentante Air France qui nous a dit :
'Le vol pour Paris avait du retard ...Si Latam avait prévenu, jamais nous ne serions partis sans votre groupe informel...'
Nous sommes finalement rentrés avec 48h heures de retard et grâce à l'efficacité de la Deputy Station Manager d'Air France.
Immense merci à elle et hyper mega vigilance avec Latam...

Cela a été maint fois dit sur les forums, par nous même et par bien d'autres forumeurs On est jamais à l'abri d'un retard ou d'une annulation de vol. Ce n'est pas Latam qui est expressement fautive, cela peut arriver avec toute autre compagnie. Vous avez une part de responsabilité dans cette situation. Cordialement

Je vais seulement m'arrêter sur le côté technique.
Ne va pas croire qu'un avion se pilote comme une voiture. La masse et la répartition des charges sont des éléments primordiaux lors d'un décollage. C'est une des raisons qui font que parfois lorsque l'appareil est peu rempli (de passagers) les places de devant sont neutralisées.
La température de l'air est un élément important. Plus l'air est chaud, moins il est dense et plus il faut que la piste soit longue pour décoller (question de vitesse). C'est une des raisons qui font que la plupart des vols qui partent des pays chauds le font souvent en pleine nuit lorsqu'il fait un peu moins chaud.
En 2016 Norwegian a du suspendre ses vols de Las Vegas en 787 pour la même raison. Alors que d'autres compagnies avec des appareils similaires décollaient malgré les températures élevées. La différence était que Norwegian densifie à fond ses appareils histoire de remplir au maximum. Mais + de passagers = + de poids et + de bagages. Résultat pas assez de longueur de piste pour prendre suffisamment de vitesse au décollage.
Tu ironises sur le fait que les autres appareils décollaient. Peut être étaient ils plus légers (moins de passagers par exemple) ou tout simplement différents (motorisation, type d'appareil, etc.).
Quant aux 24° ce n'est pas aux passagers de décider.
Je pense que tu préfères un excès de prudence et une application des règles plutôt qu'un accident grave au décollage ?
Alors oui ils auraient pu y penser avant en refusant des gens à l'embarquement / enregistrement. Oui le fait de dire "Il faudra que nous interrogions Airbus" est un peu limite. Oui ils auraient pu mieux gérer la suite par rapport aux vols en continuité.

Qu'affichaient les écrans des départs à Lima ?

Intéressant de voir des passagers se transformer en experts de l’aérien et donner des leçons d’incompétence aux professionnels et compagnies aériennes...
Peut être pourriez vous préciser également que cet aéroport est localisé à 3.310 mètres d’altitude.
Et que cette configuration entraîne de nombreuses exigences qui peuvent perturber l’exploitation aérienne.
Pour être quelques fois monté à cette altitude en montagne, merci aux trains et transports à câble, ma condition physique était amoindrie par rapport à une altitude de pleine.
Idem pour les avions.

Conseil de prudence: toujours arriver à Lima, la veille ou l'avant veille du vol de retour.
Les perturbations météo (ce n'est pas votre cas) obligent à prévoir au moins une nuit à Lima.
Il est vrai que la désinvolture de la part de Latam dans votre mésaventure me parait surprenante. Cette compagnie jouit d'une bonne réputation en Amérique du Sud.

- quel vent ce jour la? Vitesse, direction
- quelle pression athmospherique? On parle d’un aéroport à 3.300 mètres d’altitude... pas de Zaventem
- quel modele d’avion aviez vous?
- quels modeles d’avions ont décollé?
- quelle était la charge (passagers + fret) de ces avions?

Donc avant d’attaquer la compagnie et son personnel pour incompétence, peut-être pourriez vous donner toutes les données du problème ?

Je prends de temps en temps des vols au départ de la Corse. Il y a parfois un vrai temps de chien. Lorsque le temps est tellement mauvais (grosses pluies, vent fort, etc.) seuls les ATR (les petits coucous à hélices) peuvent décoller (sous conditions évidemment) mais pas les A320. Que faut il en déduire selon toi ?
Et notamment comment pouvais tu connaître des informations impossible à connaître sauf à être les pilotes de ces appareils (la masse, les pleins de carburant, la destination, le nombre de passager, les bagages, les moteurs de l'appareil, ses caractéristiques, etc.) ?

bonjour comme indiqué précédemment c'est certain que l'aéroport de Cusco ( SPZO ) est un aéroport particulier il est à plus de 3000m.
Pour peu qu'il y ait mauvais temps , les vols peuvent être annulés.

Soit les autres avions n'étaient pas si chargés ou pleins, ou peut être les pilotes de ces compagnies aériennes n'étaient pas si "strict" et regardant (ce qui veut dire de décoller avec une marge de sécurité insuffisante). Il faut se rappeler (comme plusieurs Membres VF ont essayé de vous expliquer) que Cuzco/Pérou est un aéroport "en haute-altitude" situé à 3310 mètres au dessus du niveau de la mer (ou 10800 pieds) - énorme! Et - ce qui aggrave la situation de Cuzco encore plus - est le fait qu'il y a du terrain (des cailloux) très élevé autour de la piste. Donc, il n'y a pas seulement la performance de décollage qui est compliquée (pour quitter la piste avec une marge de sécurité), mais aussi la montée initiale avec une panne d'un moteur au pire moment (lors de la rotation). Si un Airbus 320 se trouve à 11000 pieds et doit monter avec seulement un moteur très rapidement à 18000 ou 19000 pieds (env. plus 2000 mètres), tout ça en IMC (dans les nuages et sans visibilité sur le terrain) - c'est bien chaud, bien chaud!
Au lieu de "dégueuler" sur la LATAM je pense il faut dire "merci" aux pilotes pour prendre la sécurité à cœur. Même si les conséquences pour les clients étaient bien désagréables. S'il y avait eu un problème (p.e. un accident) tout ce bon monde qui gueulait à l'aéroport de Cuzco aura "massacré" ces deux pilotes en les traitant d'irresponsables...
Donc, lisez le Forum VF, car il y a souvent eu cette discussion pour Cuzco (avec transfert à Lima vers l'Europe le même jour). Je pense la conclusion était toujours la même: Planifier large (ceci dit voyager le jour avant), car tout est incertain et bien moins régulier que sur 99.9% des autres aéroports du monde… Et votre aventure illustre très bien la pertinence de ces discussions et des conseils donnés...

Notre message n'était pas pour excuser les cies d'aviation, nous avons parfois eu des problèmes avec elles, mais si tu avais lu avant de partir les différents messages alertant sur les risques de retard des avions de lignes interieures au Perou tu aurais vu qu'il vaut mieux rentrer sur Lima au moins une journée avant le vol international. Tu t'es pourtant inscrit depuis plusieurs années sur ce site, et si tu as préparé un peu ton voyage tu as du lire ces nombreuses mises en garde. On ne comprend pas pourquoi maintenant tu viens te plaindre même s'il est vrai que certaines cies ne sont pas très aimables. D'autre part que veux-tu dire par , ^peut-être en êtes vous?^ Cordialement

Les avions qui ne décollent pas pour "friaje" c'est assez classique au Pérou, cela arrive également au départ de Lima pour les destinations andines, parfois c'est presque 40% des voyageurs qui restent bloqués à l'aéroport.
Au Pérou, ne vous attendez pas à être traités comme des rois par les compagnies aériennes (même avec Latam qui est la plus chère), de plus les aéroports sont minuscules et surchargés. Faire des connexion directes entre les vols nationaux et internationaux comporte toujours un risque de raté, c'est le jeu...

Au Pérou, ne vous attendez pas à être traités comme des rois par les compagnies aériennes (même avec Latam qui est la plus chère), de plus les aéroports sont minuscules et surchargés. Faire des connexion directes entre les vols nationaux et internationaux comporte toujours un risque de raté, c'est le jeu...

Since it came into force, Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council, which defines air passenger rights, has faced fierce resistance from airlines, backed by IATA (the association representing almost all passenger airlines).
Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.
As a result, the Council and the Commission have been proposing revisions to Regulation 261/2004 for years that are particularly unfavorable to passengers. The latest attempt nearly eliminated the right to compensation for delays of 3 hours or more upon arrival at the final destination.
However, since this is a regulation of both the European Parliament AND the Council, the two bodies had to agree.
But the European Parliament has always stood firm, consistently responding that passenger rights must be preserved.
After 11 years of struggle, it seems likely that we’re finally nearing the end of the match between the European Commission, the Council (the 27 heads of state or government), and the European Parliament.
Indeed, the Commission and the European Parliament have agreed on a text that will be debated again on Monday, July 6, 2026, with a vote scheduled for July 7, 2026. It’s very likely that this text, which would come into force in a year, will be adopted.
The main changes would be as follows: - Families with children will no longer be forced to pay to sit together on planes; - A flight will be considered canceled (not just delayed) if it departs more than one hour late; - Right to compensation for arrival at the final destination if the delay exceeds 3 hours (no longer "3 hours OR more"). The arrival time will be when the plane, having reached its parking spot, engages its parking brakes (no longer when the aircraft door opens); - Airlines can no longer refuse boarding or charge extra on the return flight for a passenger who didn’t take the outbound flight; - If a flight is canceled, the airline must, at the same time as informing passengers of the event, offer the choice between a refund and re-routing, and inform them of their rights to assistance and, if applicable, compensation; - The airline must, without undue delay, inform passengers of the reason; - In the case of a connecting flight, if the connection is missed and the delay at the final destination entitles the passenger to compensation, the responsible airline will be liable. This is very different from the current situation, where, under the KLM ruling, any airline operating a segment of the flight is liable for compensation. This promises more disputes that the Court of Justice of the European Union will have to resolve if two separate airlines operating segments of a connecting flight are both responsible for the delay. This is very different from the current situation, as Regulation 261/2004 sets no time limit. Currently, national law applies—in France, the limit is 5 years. The airline must respond within 30 days. If the airline refuses compensation on the grounds of "extraordinary circumstances," it must specify which type of case it refers to from the list in the annex of the new regulation. If the case isn’t on the list, the airline must explain what the event was, why it qualifies as extraordinary circumstances with "clear, substantial, and concise" explanations, and why it’s directly linked to the reason given. It must also declare what "reasonable measures" were taken to mitigate the issue. This is, of course, a huge change in the regulation, with the clear goal of preventing airlines from declaring just anything as "extraordinary circumstances" to avoid compensation. - If, within 3 hours of a last-minute canceled or delayed flight, the airline hasn’t offered re-routing under comparable transport conditions and as soon as possible—whether on one of its own flights or another airline’s—the passenger will have the right to arrange their own re-routing and demand a refund for the new ticket, up to 400% of the original ticket price. Since it came into force, Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council, which defines air passenger rights, has faced fierce resistance from airlines, backed by IATA (the association representing almost all passenger airlines).
Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.
As a result, the Council and the Commission have been proposing revisions to Regulation 261/2004 for years that are particularly unfavorable to passengers. The latest attempt nearly eliminated the right to compensation for delays of 3 hours or more upon arrival at the final destination.
However, since this is a regulation of both the European Parliament AND the Council, the two bodies had to agree.
But the European Parliament has always stood firm, consistently responding that passenger rights must be preserved.
After 11 years of struggle, it seems likely that we’re finally nearing the end of the match between the European Commission, the Council (the 27 heads of state or government), and the European Parliament.
Indeed, the Commission and the European Parliament have agreed on a text that will be debated again on Monday, July 6, 2026, with a vote scheduled for July 7, 2026. It’s very likely that this text, which would come into force in a year, will be adopted.
The main changes would be as follows: - Families with children will no longer be forced to pay to sit together on planes; - A flight will be considered canceled (not just delayed) if it departs more than one hour late; - Right to compensation for arrival at the final destination if the delay exceeds 3 hours (no longer "3 hours OR more"). The arrival time will be when the plane, having reached its parking spot, engages its parking brakes (no longer when the aircraft door opens); - Airlines can no longer refuse boarding or charge extra on the return flight for a passenger who didn’t take the outbound flight; - If a flight is canceled, the airline must, at the same time as informing passengers of the event, offer the choice between a refund and re-routing, and inform them of their rights to assistance and, if applicable, compensation; - The airline must, without undue delay, inform passengers of the reason; - In the case of a connecting flight, if the connection is missed and the delay at the final destination entitles the passenger to compensation, the responsible airline will be liable. This is very different from the current situation, where, under the KLM ruling, any airline operating a segment of the flight is liable for compensation. This promises more disputes that the Court of Justice of the European Union will have to resolve if two separate airlines operating segments of a connecting flight are both responsible for the delay. This is very different from the current situation, as Regulation 261/2004 sets no time limit. Currently, national law applies—in France, the limit is 5 years. The airline must respond within 30 days. If the airline refuses compensation on the grounds of "extraordinary circumstances," it must specify which type of case it refers to from the list in the annex of the new regulation. If the case isn’t on the list, the airline must explain what the event was, why it qualifies as extraordinary circumstances with "clear, substantial, and concise" explanations, and why it’s directly linked to the reason given. It must also declare what "reasonable measures" were taken to mitigate the issue. This is, of course, a huge change in the regulation, with the clear goal of preventing airlines from declaring just anything as "extraordinary circumstances" to avoid compensation. - If, within 3 hours of a last-minute canceled or delayed flight, the airline hasn’t offered re-routing under comparable transport conditions and as soon as possible—whether on one of its own flights or another airline’s—the passenger will have the right to arrange their own re-routing and demand a refund for the new ticket, up to 400% of the original ticket price. Of course, there’s huge pressure from European agencies, which are forced to disrupt their plans or even cancel trips because of this. Personally, I’ve got a trip planned for February 2026 to the southern parks in Tanzania, so I’ll be keeping an eye on how this develops. Do any of you have updates? Thanks!

Before, they used to prioritize major airlines, but now it’s small airlines from small countries—companies with terrible ratings and borderline safety concerns. I even just noticed this note for a Tanzania trip: "We inform you that the domestic flight segment in Tanzania included in your trip is operated by an airline listed on the European Union’s list of air carriers subject to an operating ban within the European Union. This ban only applies to European Union airspace, meaning this airline is not permitted to take off, land, or fly over European airspace. However, this airline is authorized to operate in Tanzania."

We need assistance for check-in and boarding/disembarking (my husband is a mobility-impaired traveler who uses a cane and/or a walker). We’ve done a cruise return from Dubai to Paris CDG before in 2016, with a layover in Istanbul, but we booked the transfer and return flight with COSTA. For our current plan, it would be with Celestyal, which doesn’t offer round-trip flights from Paris to Dubai. Should we book very far in advance, or is a few months before departure enough (4/6 months)? We’re thinking of arriving the day before the ship departs, so we’d need to stay overnight in Dubai—either on the way there or for the return flight, depending on the flight schedules. Could you recommend a hotel not too far from the airport, and how to get to the port from the airport?

I booked a flight with RyanAir for next month, with the priority+ option and two cabin bags. So I can take a 10 kg bag with dimensions 55x40x20 in the cabin (plus another smaller one). The problem is that the smallest suitcase I have (which is supposed to be designed specifically for cabin size standards, according to the manual) has the following dimensions: 55x37x21, so it's just 1 cm over (wheels included) on one of the measurements.
I wasn’t too worried at first, but I’ve read dozens of stories about people’s misadventures and the hassles they’ve had with RyanAir.
Since I don’t want my suitcase to end up in the hold (that would waste time picking it up when I’m already arriving late and need to get to the city center), nor do I want to pay an extra fee (apparently 50 €) for the outbound and return flights for just 1 centimeter—especially since I paid for the "priority+" option and I’m not exactly rolling in money—I’d love some advice.
Have any of you been in the same situation? I’ve read that with this airline, they check bags in templates (testing them in different positions) and are completely uncompromising. I tried contacting customer service, who, as luck would have it, "don’t handle this kind of request," and a rep I spoke to wasn’t much help.
I know it’s a low-cost airline, and I don’t expect luxury or even kindness, but come on—just 1 cm on a short flight with the + option... I’m a bit overwhelmed by everything I’ve read...

I’d like to return to Uzbekistan next April for 10 days with my husband to visit our son who lives there. We went last July and I bought the flight tickets (direct flight from Paris on Uzbekistan Airways) about 2 months in advance at very reasonable prices. I’ve been checking for late April for a few weeks now, and the tickets are much more expensive and keep rising. I can’t figure out if the prices are going up because it’s still a bit too early to buy and they’ll likely drop if the planes aren’t full, or if it’s because the period is actually in high demand. For reference, last year I bought my son’s ticket on May 30th for a departure on June 3rd—just 3 days later—at a very low price that didn’t budge at all.
Just in case, does anyone know the pricing trends for this airline and can advise me? Should I wait or not?

I can't seem to find flights between the Cape Verde islands on the airline's website. No matter the date or route, I always get the same response: "no flights on this date." See the photo. Would anyone have an explanation? Surely not all flights are fully booked in July?

Has anyone managed to get a refund from Oman Air?
After a delayed flight, we missed our connecting flight to get home!! At midnight, the flight attendant booked us on a flight to Nice via Munich, even though we were in Munich and wanted to get back to Nice... Too tired from the trip, we didn’t notice the mistake!! The next day, of course, the booking wasn’t valid!! We had to pay again for the flight back to Nice... I’m really struggling!! I think they’re giving me the runaround!! I’ve sent several emails, tried Messenger and WhatsApp, but the only responses I get are: "We need to investigate!! We’ll get back to you in 15 days!!" It’s been over a month!!
I just sent a registered letter (LRAR) to their office at Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is still open!!
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Sri Lanka has announced it could run out of fuel in the coming weeks if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked. The government has implemented a mandatory four-day workweek to save oil, and there are long lines at gas stations due to fears of an early shortage.
In Vietnam, the government has warned all airlines that flights will need to be reduced due to a lack of kerosene. The country imports two-thirds of its jet fuel from China and Thailand, but both countries have now banned exports out of fear of domestic shortages.
The state is asking airlines to plan ahead and park aircraft to drastically reduce operations, starting with domestic flights and then international ones. International carriers will also need to cut back on their rotations.
This will begin in the coming days. 🙁

I arrive from Phnom Penh at 7:20 AM and depart for Montreal at 6:00 PM.
First question: Will my checked baggage be transferred automatically? I have a single ticket from KTI to YUL (Air Canada ticket—KTI-ICN operated by Asiana (codeshare) and ICN-YUL by Air Canada).
Second question: I saw it’s possible to join free guided tours (Airport Transit Tour). What do you think of this kind of service? And is my "actual" layover time (accounting for security checks, check-in, etc.) enough to do one of these tours?

Hi everyone,
I'm heading to Namibia next May. I'm planning to take a first flight from Paris to Johannesburg with Air France, departing at 11:20 PM and arriving at 11:05 AM in Johannesburg. Then a second flight from Johannesburg to Windhoek at 3:25 PM with South African Airways.
Four hours between the two flights seems enough to catch my connection, but a friend told me I should maybe take the 5:30 PM flight instead because I need to go through immigration, collect my luggage, and check in again. Apparently, I have to do this because I bought the two tickets separately (it's actually much cheaper).
What do you think?
Also, in terms of South African airlines, which one do you think is the most reliable between South African Airways and Airlink?

So, even before starting my explanation, I’d like to introduce myself since this is my first post on the forum :) I’m Jérôme, a huge Asia enthusiast, and I’m currently in the process of moving to Japan with my family in 2028.
Now, onto the topic :)
We’re a family of four traveling together to Seoul, with two separate bookings.
Our original itinerary was: Madrid → Doha → Seoul (March 23–24)
The issue is that our entire outbound flight was canceled, and the airline simply rescheduled the Madrid → Doha leg. Now we’re left with an incomplete journey, with no solution to reach our final destination (Seoul).
Since then:
- Can’t modify flights online (technical error every time) - Can’t get help via chat or WhatsApp - Phone support is unreachable, and the usual French number isn’t working right now
We don’t want a refund. We just want to be rerouted to Seoul, as our original ticket promised.
We’re flexible:
- On dates (we can leave on March 21 or 22 instead of the 23rd) - On the itinerary (different layovers if needed)
Have any of you dealt with this before? Do you know how to unlock a booking in this case or get a rerouting? We’re considering going straight to the airport to resolve it at the Qatar Airways counter....

We just received an email from Volotea saying our flight time has changed (by more than 2 hours).
The email states "you can request a free date change."
If I change the date, will the flight price stay the same as the original price, or will I have to pay the difference?
Specifically: Our flight on the 7th is 46.25 €, and the one on the 8th is 92.51 €. If we switch to the 8th, how much will we pay?
When I request the date change to the 8th, it says "No additional fees."
