Je suis un jeune enseignant et je compte demander ma mutation pour Wallis-et-Futuna (plus particulièrement Wallis parce que Futuna, c'est vraiment trop petit 🤪 ) pour la rentrée de février 2010. Je me suis pas mal renseigné sur cette île (j'ai farfouillé un peu tous les sites que j'ai trouvé, mais c'est souvent très incomplet) mais j'ai une foule de questions, et j'aimerais si possible que des gens y vivant / y ayant vécu, puissent me renseigner.
Avant toute chose, sachez que j'ai 28 ans, je suis célibataire et que je n'ai pas d'enfants. Ma première crainte est donc de m'ennuyer, malgré la beauté des lieux... l'île étant extrêmement petite, j'ai peur d'en avoir vite fait le tour et finalement, de tourner en rond 😕
Qu'y a-t-il à faire à Wallis ? Est-ce facile de se faire des amis ? Quelles activités peut-on faire pour occuper notre temps (à part le bateau et la pêche😏) une fois le soir ou le week-end venu ?
Y a-t-il un cinéma ? (je crois que non)
Y a-t-il internet avec l'ADSL ? (pour pouvoir communiquer aisément avec la famille en métropole)
Côté logement : Il semble qu'en tant que prof, on nous fait visiter des maisons (appartements?) à notre arrivée... Mais comment se meuble-t-on ? Comment trouve-t-on de l'électro-ménager ? Peut-on trouver des animaux domestiques sur place ?

Difficile de te conseiller car je n'y ai pas vécu mais c'est une île proche de la mienne (la Nouvelle-Calédonie) qui est celle que choisissent les expat. qui y vivent pour y passer des vacances pour "s'oxygéner" on va dire...
Le sentiment général de ceux qui arrivent là bas : dépaysement complet, culture TOTALEMENT différente, mode de vie au ralenti et tout dpend des importations, pas grand chose à faire non plus (pas de restaurants ni de vie nocturne) et on tourne vite en rond. Tout dépend de ton expérience, de ton vécu, de tes goûts, de ta capacité à t'adapter à la vie océanienne. Bref, c'est vraiment tranquille, tranquille comme vie et tu n'auras pas d'autres choix que de fréquenter les autres métropolitains de l'ile. Cinéma ? je ne crois, locations de DVD oui certainement et pas de grand choix pour l'alimentation.
Tu peux y trouver une épouse, les métros sont "l'occasion" pour les filles de l'île de s'évader et d'avoir une vie meilleure. T'épouses une wallisienne, tu épouses la famille.
Pour le mobilier, l'électro-ménager, meme si tu dois payer un supplément achètes- le ici.
L'indexation du salaire à Wallis est largement méritée ne serait-ce que pour l'isolement de l'île mais encore une fois, cela dépend des gens.
J'espère que d'autres personnes te renseigneront plus précisément et plus positivement.
Si je pars, ce n'est pas pour me marier lol, enfin je n'y compte pas du tout... mais une chose est sûre, je ne pars pour pour retrouver les mêmes conditions de vie qu'en métropole, sinon ça ne sert à rien de partir...
J'ai juste peur de m'ennuyer, car, malgré le dépaysement assuré, l'île est vraiment minuscule et je ne sais pas quelles activités on peut réaliser...
Pour l'électroménager, quand tu dis "ici", c'est "là-bas" en fait ? A Wallis ?

on éspère que t'aimes bien plonger, pecher ou nager avec des poissons..et peut-etre les manger..
mes amis ont passé là-bas 4 ans..comme toi, enseignants.. ils allaient avec des canoa entre les iles..mais c'est vrai qu'ils étaient en deux..ils se sont faits quand meme des beaux amitiés avec des locaux..
bon courage..la vie est belle et elle souhaite aux courageux..on dit chez nous..il y a toujours des belles surprises..

malo te mauli (bonjour) en wallisien!! il est vrai que wallis est une petite île..pour se faire des amis ya pas de souci..les gens sont souriants et accueillants là bas..déja y a pas de ciné 😕, loue des dvd, y a internet😎, et...sinon comme activités sportives y a le va'a'(rame polynésienne: ça muscle vite fait bien fait), le volley, le golf, le rugby, la danse etc..pour les week end, le soir, sors ou reste à la maison!!
jaime son côté dépaysé, tranquille, zen!!par contre par moment si t'as vraiment rien à faire, l'ennui s'installera!!découvre cette île et sa culture
