Faut-il absolument s'inscrire dans une association de wwoofing ou peut-on contacter des fermes directement? Vos témoignages me seraient bien utiles car je suis vraiment novice en la matière!

Nous sommes un couple de français et nous sommes très intéressé par le woofing. Nous préparons actuellement notre séjour woof au brésil du 26 septembre 2011 à fin octobre. Nous souhaiterions aller par la suite en bolivie et finir en décembre par le pérou.

J'ai passé une semaine dans une ferme à Quellomayo, à environ 5h30 de trajet de Cusco, sur la route du Machu Picchu. Le hameau est isolé, au bord d'une rivière et au milieu de la forêt tropicale (attention aux moustiques!). La famille est composée de Andrew, sa femme Tatiana, leur fille Maya, Olga et Angel, les parents de Tatiana. Famille charmante, très sympa, jolie maison accueillante et confortable. Quelques coupures d'électricité et d'eau de temps en temps mais rien de dramatique. La famille cultive du café mais possède aussi plein d'arbres fruitiers tels que avocats, mangues, oranges, citrons etc.. Pendant ma semaine, il y avait un couple d'autrichiens et nous avons cueilli du café et défriché une parcelle de terrain, rythme plutôt cool, pas de stress!

Pour répondre à ta question sur la sécurité en Bolivie, pas eu de problème (sauf mon ami qui s'est fait voler de l'argent dans notre chambre d'hôtel...mieux vaut le mette sous clé dans ton sac à dos, c'est toujours mieux que de se promener avec). J'ai pas fait La Paz mais sinon à Sucre, Potosi ou Santa Cruz, jamais on s'est senti en insécurité, bien sûr on se baladait avec presque rien sur nous, pas de papier, peu d'argent et pas de bijou. Même dans les bus, on a fait attention mais aucun problème, la plupart du temps les bagages sont étiquetés donc pas de vol mais on était toujours vigilant quand même. Au Pérou, idem, aucun souci même vigilance. Lima ça craint un peu mais si tu évites les quartiers mal fréquentés, en journée pas de problème. Dans les bus, on était pris en photo par la compagnie de bus au cas où....
En général, on choisissait des compagnies de bus réputées, quitte à payer un peu plus cher mais on était tranquilles. Le mieux est de demander dans les hôtels qui savent bien où aller et ne pas aller, et si tu dois prendre un taxi ou pas. Pour les taxis, demander avant à l'hôtel ou autre comment reconnaitre les vrais taxis des faux, notamment à Trujillo qui craint vraiment même en journée.

Nous rentrons cette semaine d'un séjour de quelques jours à la plantation de Quellomayo. Nous n'y étions pas en tant que volontaire mais en tant que Randonneur. Par contre il y avait un Australien et un Américaine qui étaient là dans le cadre de l'organisation wwoof.
Je confirme que cette ferme est un endroit idéal voire paradisiaque pour découvrir la culture du café, du chocolat de la Mangue ... Mais également une superbe alternative au chemin Inca classique vers le Machu Picchu beaucoup plus économique tout en découvrant une nature extraordinaire.
Andy et Tatiana, vous accueillent comme des rois, Olga le Papa vous tiendra en haleine avec toutes ses histoires sur les Incas et les Huaris, enfin Olga la maman vous servira d'excellents repas qui vous préparerons pour vos journées de travail ou vos longues marches.

Nous avons contacté la plantation Quellomayo et nous allons y expérimenter le woofing en décembre 2011. Nous voulions savoir a combien de temps à pied se trouve le site du machu picchu et est ce que les téléphones portable passe ? Y a t il des rando sympathique à faire sur une journée ?
Je n'ai pas fait le trajet à pied depuis Quellomayo mais je pense que c'est une journée de marche (6/7h environ). J'ai fait seulement le trajet depuis la centrale électrique jusqu'à Aguas Calientes et ça fait environ 2h30/3h.
Sinon à Quellomayo, le portable ne passe pas, il marche un peu à un certain endroit précis du chemin qui mène à Quellomayo, le bras tendu!! je ne plaisante pas!!
Pour les randos, il y a ques chemins alentours qui montent vers d'autres hameaux, en pleine selva mais avec vue superbe sur la rivière. Je n'ai pas trop expérimenté car je travaillais à quellomayo!

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
