Transportation
Getting There
The island is connected to Guadeloupe (Saint-François) by a system of ferry services. During high season, additional or reinforced services may be offered. Local providers also offer private transfers or excursions to the island.
- Archipel Ferries: same as Babou One.
- Babou One/Sademar: two daily connections between Saint-François and La Désirade. Allow 45 minutes at sea for 26 € one way.
Getting Around
The 21 km² of La Désirade can be explored on foot or with the "Désirbus," the island’s two shared minibuses (limited service).

There are around ten places to stay on the island, and it is best to book in advance. Several restaurants are also available.
