La Sécurité sociale
Les frais d’hospitalisation coûtent cher dans certains pays (les États-Unis, par exemple). L’assistance prend en charge vos frais réels (pour le montant maxi assuré, bien sûr). La Sécu au contraire, à condition que vous ayez déjà payé les factures, vous remboursera, le cas échéant, d’après son tarif français, c’est-à-dire vraiment peu… parfois moins de 10 % de vos frais réels. par contre, la prise en charge est assurée comme en France dans les pays de l’Union européenne, grâce à la carte européenne d'assurance maladie.
Les travailleurs
En général, ils partent pour les vacances seulement, et conservent leurs droits à la Sécu.
Si vous quittez votre entreprise (démission ou licenciement), vous êtes couvert par la Sécurité sociale pendant un an, pour vos soins en France, à condition d’avoir travaillé 120 h au cours du dernier mois ou 200 h au cours des 3 derniers mois.

Il est préférable de souscrire une assurance voyage de longue durée (voir le chapitre « Assureurs-conseils »). En effet, la Sécu vous rembourse les frais que vous avez payés selon le tarif de votre pays d’origine. Comme c’est insuffisant, une assistance avec le rapatriement médical et la prise en charge des frais réels d’hospitalisation et de médecine restent pratiquement indispensable.

Ton ordre de virement doit être faite par courrier à ton conseiller en précisant le montant du virement en chiffres et en lettres, la devise (Dollars US) le nom du beneficiaire (toi), le nom et l adresse de la banque beneficiaire, les references completes du compte a crediter, code BIC ou SWIFT / IBAN.
Tu peux aussi le faire par fax (en autorisant une décharge à ton conseiller, sinon le fax ne sera pas pris en compte).
Ou encore une décharge d'un membre de ta famille qui peut s'occuper de ton compte, et faire le virement au guichet.
Bon mon collegue qui est là bas depuis 3 mois, va se casser prochainement, où ça, je ne sais pas encore.

Déjà si t'as ton permis français (+ international : tu demandes à la prefecture, c'est qu'un bout de papier), tu pourras rouler 3 mois tranquile.
Et après, il te faut ton permis de Floride. C'est pas cher $20, et c'est vraiment pas dur. Quand t'as déjà ton permis français tu passes que quelques trucs.
Par contre il te faut une assurance pour la voiture (normal...), et il te faut donc ton numéro de sécurité de sociale, et ca y'a un peu d'attente (semaines, mois ?) apparement avant de l'avoir.... quand tu arrives sur le sol ricain.
