Hi, Currently in Thailand, I was supposed to return to Bangkok to apply for a visa at the Indonesian consulate. Given the state of emergency in Bangkok following the earthquake, I’m looking for a way to apply for my 2-month tourist visa (renewable once) online. I only have about 10 days left before my Thai visa expires. Can anyone give me the correct website address and let me know the required documents and procedures? Thanks in advance

Hi, I think the easiest way is for you to go to the Indonesian embassy in Bkk—you’ll get it more easily that way. For the two-month renewable visa, you need bank proof that you have $2,000 in monthly income!!! Otherwise, you can only apply for a one-month renewable visa. On the website, I kept getting "payment failed" every time, so I did it on arrival. I stayed 4 months in Sulawesi, renewed it easily at an immigration office, then after two months, I left the country (Malaysian Borneo—it was amazing!) and came back with a one-month visa on arrival, which I renewed. :) https://molina.imigrasi.go.id

Hi, It was indeed what I was planning to do, but that was before... Before the earthquake that’s making me reluctant to linger in Bangkok, as it’s still chaotic with some public transport still down, massive traffic jams, and the Aid and Nyepi festivals to consider—Indonesian consular services will be closed. ... In short, the ideal would’ve been to apply online... but the website has been unreachable for days... The solution you suggested is definitely an option, but I’d kept it as a last resort since I’d rather not leave and re-enter... I’ll see... maybe I’ll wait a bit longer where I am now before heading back to BKK to handle things at the consulate... but in that case, not before April 8th... maybe the situation in Bangkok will have improved by then... Wait and see! Thanks for your feedback

I think it was under maintenance, but it should be back up now. Otherwise, you can do it on-site, I believe. Now you can also renew it online—check the "Indonésie en français" Facebook page to confirm.

2000 € in monthly income? No. You need proof of sufficient funds. 2000 € in an account and a recent bank statement to upload. Exit ticket. However, it’s expensive—1.5 million IDR for 2 months. Visa extendable by 2 months up to 6 months total. 500 IDR per month. Each online extension shows a "Waiting verification" note. That means you have to go to the immigration office. There, they’ll record your visit and ask for a new exit ticket if the one mentioned in the first application is no longer valid.

Still, be careful with this income story—I’ve seen messages from people who were really upset after being rejected even though they’d shown bank statements with over 2000 €. When you’re paying for visas for a whole family and then get refused, that’s a lot of money down the drain...
