Indonesia C1 Visa Extension

Hi there. I hold a 60-day C1 visa obtained online in early April, and I’ve been in Indonesia since April 14th. I’d like to extend my visa, something I thought was possible online under the same conditions as when I got the visa—but oh no! I realize first that I can’t find my visa on the immigration website with the requested details (passport number, date of birth, nationality)... and also that it seems a sponsor is required for the C1 visa, not only for the extension but even for the initial visa application, which wasn’t asked of me before!!!! So, I’m wondering how I should go about getting this extension... Has anyone gone through this experience? What solutions might there be, given I only have two weeks left to sort this out... Thanks for your helpful feedback

Hello, Wouldn’t the nearest Immigration office to your stay know?

...relevant answer. It’s just that it’s the weekend and I’ve got a flight to Jogja on Monday. That’s why I wanted to get some firsthand experiences beforehand... To save myself from getting frustrated for no reason on the immigration website! 😅

Hi there, At first glance, since the end of May 2025, it’s no longer possible to apply for an e-VOA extension directly online. You have to go to an immigration office to renew it. But I’ve been told that before heading to the office, you need to register the request on the website. After that, you’re apparently summoned to the nearest office? If anyone has info on this, I’d love to hear it—we’re heading to Sulawesi this summer and were planning to renew a 30-day visa.

Hi everyone, I’m updating my post with new information, some of which answers my own questions... The e-visa C1 (60-day tourist visa) can indeed be renewed online, at least partially. The process is done online, and at the end, you’ll receive an appointment at the local Immigration office. However, be aware that the application is very poorly designed... In addition to having to create an account and log in, you must **not** click on the "tempting" buttons on the main page because they won’t work. Instead, use the links from the dropdown menu in the top right (three horizontal bars)... That’s the first thing to know. For the renewal, everything is the same—your photo and passport are already on file, along with all the useful info from your initial application. You just need to fill in all the fields. Even though a sponsor isn’t required for a tourist stay, you still have to upload a file in the sponsor field. Instead of a recommendation letter, you must combine into a single PDF: your return ticket (proof of exit from the country) and a letter with all your details, explaining that you’re requesting a visa extension for tourism purposes. Date and sign it (the form is available at Immigration). You can then submit your request, and after paying online, you’ll receive an appointment at the local Immigration office for a "photo" and biometrics. That’s the update for now... ...valid until the next change! !

Hi, I’m not sure where you’re at with your trip, but I read that you managed to get a 60-day C1 tourist visa—that’s exactly what I’m trying to get before our trip planned for this summer. How can I get it easily, without any uncertainty, before we leave? Thanks for your feedback. Elodie

Hi, You can indeed get a 2-month visa, renewable multiple times.

This visa can be obtained in 2 ways: - At the consulate in Marseille or the Embassy in Paris - Online on the Indonesian Immigration website.

For my part, I used the website to apply: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ The process is fairly simple, even if it sometimes lacks intuitiveness.

Avoid holiday periods, especially the end of Ramadan, as applications aren't processed for several days...

Still, allow at least 15 days for a response, though it can be quicker.

For info, here’s a link to an online agency’s site for more details. Prices are obviously higher: https://www.action-visas.com/visa/Indonesie

Have a good day
