Hi everyone, I’m looking for info on Canaima, please. I need the cheapest hotel in Canaima and a tour agency that organizes trips and tours at fair and honest prices—or maybe a local guide, please. Also, which website can I use to buy a round-trip flight ticket from Caracas to Canaima? Thanks so much!

Best regards,

Hi, I went there 10 years ago, and for those tours I found local agencies on the spot. I had stayed in Ciudad Bolívar—super cute.

Hi there, first off, to go to Canaima, you MUST book a tour. I went with Kavac Excursions. You should check out this site:

Basic 3-day/2-night tours were around $350–400 USD all-inclusive. I had my hotel arrange everything for me—it was more convenient. Otherwise, I imagine there are agencies in Caracas that can handle it. It’s simpler than booking online, especially in Venezuela.

The only advice I’d give you is not to be too price-sensitive. Given how exceptional this park is, it’s not worth looking for bargain deals or the cheapest options. Exceptional experiences come at a price, and even if it cost $500 USD, I’d pay it without hesitation. My only regret? Not doing the helicopter tour.

I also left from Ciudad Bolívar—stayed at Posada Don Carlos, and they organized everything for me.

Hi there,

I’m looking for an off-the-beaten-path destination for November 2025 (about 3 weeks). I speak Spanish and I’ve already been to Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. I’d love to hear about your travel experience in Venezuela: practical tips, logistics, local contacts, etc. I travel on a shoestring budget, so I use public transport, youth hostels or local hotels, small restaurants or markets for food, no agencies, etc. I enjoy hiking as much as visiting museums, ruins, old neighborhoods, etc.—no beaches unless it’s for the scenery. No lounging around. Thanks!
