Hi there! I’m sharing our itinerary for May/June 2027—23 days. This is our first time in Greece, so we’re starting with the must-see spots. We’re planning another trip later to explore the north, Thessaloniki, Macedonia, and some islands.

- Athens, 4 nights - Corinth area, 2 nights (Heraion of Perachora, Canal, Acrocorinth) - Nafplio, 3 nights (Mycenae, Epidaurus, Methana peninsula) - Gefira, 2 nights (Monemvasia) - Areopoli, 2 nights (Mani). Maybe add an extra night and stay on the peninsula??? Based on my calculations, the Mani loop is about 100 km—doable in a day, but it’d be a quick trip. - Sparta or Pikoulianika, 2 nights (Mystras) - Dimitsana, 2 nights (Lousios Gorge, monasteries) - Olympia, 2 nights (via Lagkadia?) - Delphi or Arachova, 3 nights (via the west coast, Galaxidi bridge) (Delphi, Hosios Loukas Monastery) - And back to Athens.

This is just a rough draft for now. We’re planning to stay in hotels or book through Booking.com. What do you think? Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!

Hi Christine,

In my opinion, there are a lot of "unnecessary" overnight stays. For example, in Corinth or Olympia. Visiting these sites doesn’t require staying two nights.

Personally, I’d rather spend more time in certain places than pack and unpack my suitcases several times a week.

Thanks. So you’d recommend shortening Corinth and Olympia. Which part of my itinerary would you explore more deeply?

I’ll extend my stay in Areopoli and Dimitsana, but that’s just personal preference. Maybe also an extra night in Nafplio.

Explore the Mani region more? Hikes around Dimitsana? I’ve spotted the Menalon Trail. I’ll take another look at the map. Generally, on our trips, we try to alternate between off-the-beaten-path routes and hikes.

The advantage in May/June is that you don’t have to plan everything day by day. You can find accommodations last minute and thus stay longer in a place you like or, on the contrary, spend less time in a place you don’t enjoy as much.

In Greece, you won’t risk ending up sleeping under the stars. So for a few places, you can afford not to book anything and find something last minute—especially at the time you’re going.

Bonjour Christine
