En fait, t'es le premier, depuis un an que je lis les messages sur le Kirghizistan, qui annonce qu'il arrive directement à Osh, et ce serait intéressant que tu nous dise avec quelle compagnie tu vas faire ça, et autres détails, si ce n'est pas indiscret, ce qui pourra aider ceux qui envisageraient de faire comme toi.
J'espère que ça ne bouchonnera pas trop à Moscou, dans ces périodes.
En tous les cas on te souhaite un joli séjour dans ce pays qui me semble plein d'attrait, et pas trop ennuyeux.
Et puis au retour ou en cours de route, on compte sur toi pour nous raconter.

Autre: si tu avais un plan pour loger quelques temps à Osh ou dans le coin, et que tu acceptais de proposer de partager cela quelques jours, tu pourrais contacter Leidelbeck2, qui devrait y passer courant aout. Il arrive au tout début aout à Bishkek, et pense se balader un peu dans le pays.
Il devrait pouvoir plus facilement utiliser une chambre en partage à Bishkek, pendant que d'autres feraient un tour, et inversement.

Certainement, mais Vongillus qui fréquente assez régulièrement le forum peut répondre aussi bien ici sur ce nouveau parcours, mis à part le partage éventuel de logement qui nécessiterait la messagerie, parce que ce vol vers Osh en intéressera plus d'un.
En partant de Toulouse, cela revient plutôt moins cher qu'en rejoignant Paris d'une manière ou d'une autre, comme a fait Leidelbeck2 en octobre dernier via Moscou sur Lufthansa puis Aeroflot, mais il faut réserver assez tôt pour avoir de bons tarifs.
Si j'y allais un jour, je choisirais par Istambul, pour éviter la cohue de Moscou, les retards de bagages, et pouvoir jeter un oeil sur l'escale et avoir une possibilité d'emport plus confortable, notamment au retour.
Oui. D'un autre côté, je me dis que pour un premier séjour dans les coins, on a envie de tout préparer, car les impondérables inquiètent légitimement.
Je pense qu'il faut se pénétrer des files d'ici, les réactualiser soi-même pour ce qui a changé, qui est mentionné dans d'autres files, bien faire attention aux liens que certains envoient vers d'autres sites perso, récits et préconisations de matériel, c'est-à-dire prendre vraiment le temps de lire toutes les files, y compris de fort anciennes, se constituer des dossiers selon les urgences personnelles, avec à la fois tous les liens vers les files qui concernent un sujet particulier, éventuellement quelques images comme des extraits de cartes ou des photos, puis sous forme de texte, certains posts plus utiles, triés. Même les noms des gens qu'on risque de rencontrer sur le chemin, yourtes ou villages, car on passe toujours par les mêmes gens, plus ou moins, et c'est pas mal de les reconnaître, et je dirais même, quand c'est possible, d'avoir un petit cadeau à donner aux enfants sans heurter leur sens de l'hospitalité, des cadeaux qui ne pèsent pas lourd ni chers, on n'essaye pas d'épater la galerie avec nos richesses, mais faut réfléchir à l'avance à ce qui peut plaire, si simple que ce soit, par exemple qui vienne de son pays, que l'on ne trouve pas sur place)
Donc des dossiers concernant le matos nécessaire selon ce que l'on envisage de faire ici ou là, difficultés sur les trajets ou les formalités en Kirghizie ou à côté, points à essayer de ne pas louper si l'on le peut lorsque l'on arrive quelque part, ce que l'on peut manger sur place au lieu d'amener sa bouffe comme un malappris, 😛, éventuellement un lexique perso pour communiquer avec tout le monde en cours de route, tout ça devant pouvoir tenir sur une clef USB, à consulter quand c'est possible. Avec ça, on peut plus facilement prendre des décisions au jour le jour, accepter des propositions, gagner un peu de temps, sachant qu'il s'en perdra toujours, et pas seulement à cause des hésitations ou du manque d'information. On se dit qu'en cinq jours on aura bien le temps de se renseigner ou de faire les formalités, mais ça passe très vite, parcequ'il y a à prévoir pas mal de latences, d'arrêts de jeu de toutes sortes, dont des bonnes.
Mais à contrario, vouloir trop organiser est absurde, comme par exemple lorsque l'on envisage de trouver tels gens à tel endroit, tel jour prévu pour un rendez-vous, alors que les deux peuvent être retardés ou avoir changé d'avis selon les urgences du terrain.
Vouloir embaucher un guide ou chauffeur pour quinze jours me semble dénué de sens, vu que soit il aura besoin, lui, de répondre à d'autres appels entretemps, que soi-même on peut renoncer vu la météo, le retard pris par rapport au programme qu'on a essayé de définir, tout ça.
Il vaut mieux prendre ces guides ou ces chauffeurs sur place, là où l'on se trouve, et s'ils veulent partir en cours de route, leur réclamer contre quelques euros de trouver un remplaçant, un autre véhicule, y compris le bus, le cheval pour rejoindre un village plus passant, un endroit où dormir à l'abri des intempéries éventuelles, qui me semblent le point le plus ennuyeux.
Si j'ai bien compris, ce n'est pas parcequ'il fait très chaud qu'on échappe aux orages, et même si l'on sait bien monter à cheval ou conduire, il vaut mieux s'appuyer sur les débrouillards du pays, et encore mieux sur ceux du coin où on est.
Donc à chaque fois, il faut donner un peu de monnaie pour demander à l'un ou à l'autre d'aller chercher un cheval, une voiture, un camion, ou bien de nous y amener directement à cheval, dans un endroit plus fréquenté où ils pourront, par exemple, eux-même téléphoner, réclamer ce qui est nécessaire.
Et puis il faut aussi admettre que l'on puisse rester bloqué un jour à tel endroit, faut en tenir compte dans le programme du touriste pressé. 🤪
On file quelques euros pour avoir quelque chose, pour encourager, et lorsque la chose est accomplie, on paye le service.
Ce n'est pas nécessaire de payer tout le cheval d'avance, une chose à la fois, pas de précipitation, ni de la part des kirghizes, ni de la part des visiteurs.
Et puis comme je disai l'autre jour à Leidelbeck2, en m'inspirant de ce qu'il a pu me raconter de son premier passage, quand il y a une difficulté avec les locaux, chante une chanson de Jo Dassin ou de Claude François, pour dire que t'es pas d'accord, avec le sourire, au lieu d'essayer de marchander sans communiquer.
(il paraît qu'ils adorent le karaoké et qu'ils connaissent pas mal de chansons du monde entier)
En conclusion, il faut prévoir que tout ne soit pas trop prévu, mais ne pas oublier quelques trucs qui pourront aider, en relisant l'intégralité de ce forum plus les liens, les récits de voyage.
A replus, et tu nous racontera, je sens que t'en es capable, Trailer, mais c'est sûr que pour raconter, il faut des fois noter un peu, en cours de route, et puis passer du temps, à le rédiger!
Comme je dis dans mon cartouche, ce sont bien les gens de Kirghizie ou d'ailleurs qu'il faut prendre le plus de temps à rencontrer, mais cela n'empêche évidemment pas de rencontrer les gens qui nous ressemblent, puisqu'eux-mêmes peuvent nous tuyauter et nous faciliter la tâche pour découvrir le pays, et donc en premier lieu les gens qui y habitent, ceux qui resteront toujours les meilleurs pour nous le faire découvrir dans sa vraie dimension et complexité.
Et pour cela, des fois il vaut mieux être tout seul, se laisser aller à la rencontre, se mettre en position de dépendance des gens qu'on rencontrera.

Ca fait quelques années que je vais au Kirghizistan visiter ma belle famille à Osh. Et c'est vrai qu'à chaque fois, j'essaie de trouver l'itinéraire le moins cher et le plus pratique.
Après être passé par Londres, Istanbul, Saint Petersbourg avec de nombreuses compagnies différentes, je tente aujourd'hui un passage par Moscou avec arrivée directe sur Osh ce qui me fait éviter le coucou de Bishkek à Osh.
Je fais donc un vol d'abord avec Brussels Airlines de Toulouse à Bruxelles et de Bruxelles à Moscou Domodedovo. Enfin, de ce même aéroport, je pars à Osh avec S7. Premier avantage d'après les renseignements que j'ai eu, pas besoin de visa de transit Russe car pas de changement de terminal à Moscou (Je croise les doigts !!). Par contre, gros défaut, c'est qu'à Moscou, je vais y aller sans bagages en soute, car je ne pourrai pas sortir les récupérer pour les transférer (en tout cas, c'est l'info que j'ai). Ca me gêne pas trop mais je vous confirmerai tout ça.
En ce qui concerne l'arrivée directe à Osh, comme il s'agit d'un aéroport International, je me suis renseigné sur place et manifestement, il est possible de prévenir le consul local à Osh, pour qu'il vienne faire le visa à l'aéroport. Donc, je vais tenter le coup. Mon départ est prévu pour le 26 juillet. Le prix semble être équivalent à celui de Bishkek. J'ai déjà fait prolonger mon visa à Osh et c'était vraiment pas cher du tout alors peut-être que j'aurai une bonne surprise et peut-être une mauvaise ! 😉
Pour ce qui est du logement sur Osh, je loge chez ma belle famille, donc pas de souci ! Si y'a besoin, je pourrais éventuellement essayer de trouver quelque chose ou de dépanner, mais pour ça, faut m'envoyer un message en privé.

De retour à Toulouse avec une bonne grippe, j'espère pas du poulet ! Du coup j'ai le temps de vous donner les détails qui peuvent être utiles.
D'abord, le trajet Toulouse - Bruxelles - Moscou - Osh, c'était impeccable. Pas de visa Russe ce qui fait tout de même une économie. En plus, le transfert des bagages à Moscou fonctionne, j'ai testé ça pour le retour. Ce qui est bien, c'est qu'on peut avoir comme ça 20 kg de bagages alors que sur le vol Bishkek-Osh, il font payer au dessus de 15 kg. Faut faire attention, ils pèsent tout, même les bagages en cabine.
Pour ce qui est du visa à Osh, ça s'est bien passé. Arrivé à l'aéroport, les services nous ont fait patienter et ont appelé le consul pour qu'il vienne nous faire les visas. Il nous ont même laissé sortir pour qu'on puisse prendre le petit déj ! Ca donne tout de suite l'ambiance du pays et de Osh, le fait que ça soit cool. On a attendu environ 1 heure le consul qui était très sympa et nous a fait payer 74 dollars par tête. En fait, c'est le tarif urgent car le consul se déplace. Normalement, il devrait être possible de téléphoner à l'avance pour avoir le même tarif qu'à Bishkek mais on n'a pas réussi sur ce coup. De toutes façons, si on avait fait le visa à l'avance, ça nous serait revenu à peu près au même prix en comptant les envois en recommandé et tout le tralala. Donc, à mon avis, c'est vraiment intéressant surtout que ça ne nous a pas fait perdre beaucoup de temps. Le consul nous a même ramené en ville avec sa voiture. Il faut tout de même faire attention d'arriver un jour de la semaine et pendant les heures ouvrables. Il semble que ça peut marcher le week-end mais ça coutera certainement plus cher.
Qui sait, si on est plus nombreux à arriver sans visa à Osh, ils mettront quelqu'un comme à Bishkek !!

- - Financial proof: Is a retirement statement showing over 2,000 € per month sufficient, or are bank statements also required?

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Paper documents might not be accepted.
