Je sais que les opinions diverges quant à la température à Cuba en janvier mais malgré tout j'aimerais avoir vos feedback sur les endroits que vous avez voyagé à Cuba et comment c'était à ce mois de l'année... je cherche un coin tranquille sur une belle plage pour profiter du soleil et p-e faire une excursion.
Perso je suis déjà allé à Varadero il y a 2 ans à l'hôtel Palma Real et c'était génial comment il avait fait beau et chaud!
Quel est le coin de Cuba où je suis susceptible d'avoir la plus belle température selon vous ?
Je pense plutôt au coin de Holguin qui est plus au sud de Cuba. Mais bon, ca dépend des années. Moi aussi je vais peut être partir a Cuba en janvier.
Cayo Coco et Varadero sont un peu plus venteux mais encore chui pas experte en la matiere j'y suis jamais allé. Je suis allé par contre en Rep. Dom. fin janvier et la température était merveilleuse.
Cette année, mon copain et moi on veut essayer Varadero car on part surement avec des amis (l'un d'entre eux va souvent a Varadero en janvier et il n'a pa eu de prob concernant la température) ou si on est seuls, ca va etre Holguin.

Pour la plage les plus belle sont à varadero, la température en général ce situe entre 27 et 32 C en hiver. C'est un peut plus chaud sur la mer des antilles que l'atlantique.
J'aimerais savoir oceane83 s'il y a des excursions intéressantes à Holguin, à quelle hôtel avez-vous logé et côté plage est-ce que c'était bien ? Chanceuse pour la république dominicaine si j'avais les moyens c'est une destination que j'aimerais bien visiter mais mon tour viendra! 😎

Oui moi je peux te donné des info. Je suis allé au Grand Santa Lucia du 19 déc. 06 au 02 Jan 07 et cela pour me marié. Cet hotel est un 4*. Il est très famillial beaucoup d'activité de 10h00 à 23h30 de tout pour tous, les enfants comme les ados. LA BOUFFE: pour moi très bonne 4 resto à la cartes cubain, pizza, grill, fruit de mer +un buffet très bon. BAR:4 dans la piscine, salle de spectacle, lobby et la plage. CHAMBRES:À notre arrivée chambre standard une nuit puis un bungalow en face de la mer (à cause de nôtre mariage) les deux sont très bien. LA PLAGE: pour moi est la seul déception de mon voyage. Après avoir connu une plage de rêve à Varadéro à Santa Lucia c'est pas extra en général la plage est sâle et la mer... il y a des algue au fond comme du gazon mais quand même de rare coin d'eau turquoise et de sable sans algue. Pour les gens qui sont comme moi (des amant de plage incroyable) vous allez être déçu pour le reste je recommande cet hotel à tous les types de voyageurs.

En fait, je ne suis jamais allé à Cuba. Par contre, étant dans le domaine et en plus, je connait des gens qui y sont allés et ils ont beaucoup aimé Holguin. Si tu veux, il y a le petit village de Guardalavaca que tu peux visité. Il y a aussi Santiago de Cuba (3hrs de route en autobus) avec son ancienne forteresse El Moro. Tu peux aussi aller faire des excursions comme le catamaran. C'est génial ! D'habitude, il y a un bon diner genre langouste et puis tu as la possibilité de faire de la plongée en apnée à partir du bateau. Holguin est idéal pour ça!!! Pleins de jolis poisssons de toutes les couleurs! Les plages sont belles surtout la Playa Esmeralda qui se retrouve devant l'hôtel Sol Luna y Mares. La plage du Blau Costa Verde et du Playa Costa Verde sont magnifiques aussi. Au Playa Costa Verde, la nourriture est excellente, très variée!!!

On annonce de la pluie et des orages à tous les jours... parce que c'est la saison des pluie et que c'est possible que ca arrive. Ca se limite en général à une petite averse (ou orage) en fin de journée, en soirée ou la nuit. C'est humide alors il faut bien que ca retombe à un moment donné. J'y suis allée la semaine passée et il a plu un gros 5-10 minutes maximum à presque toutes les fins de journée (entre 4h30 et 6h00 je dirais). Mais ce n'était qu'un petit nuage là, pas une journée complète nuageuse. Ca ne gâche pas du tout une journée. Il a fait soleil toute la semaine.
Mais bon, tu pourrais aussi tomber sur une semaine super pluvieuse. C'est pas parce que c'est Cuba qu'il fait nécessairement beau 365 jours / année tu vois? C'est aléatoire la température. C'est dur à prévoir. Ca change d'année en année.
Je suis allé à Cuba (Holguin Hotel Brisas Guardalavaca) en janvier 2007 et la température était très belle! Environ 25-26 degrés à chaque jour et assez chaud en soirée pour rester en tenue d'été... L'eau de la plage et de la piscine était chaude et plaisante pour la baignade.
Une amie à moi par contre a été à Varadero en décembre et elle ne pouvait se baigner à la plage elle m'a dit que l'eau été très fraîche et que ce n'était pas du tout plaisant...
Moi on m'a dit que c'était un pile ou face à chaque année... Certaines années sont plus fraîches que d'autre et on ne peut prédire à l'avance! Quand on va dans le Sud on espère tous de la chaleur et du soleil mais malheureusement ce n'est pas nous qui décide!
On se croise les doigt pour qu'en janvier 2008 la température soit merveilleuse!!

salut je suis aller a cuba a la fin janvier 2006 a l hotel arenas blancas en face du palma real je crois..c etait tres venteux les premier jours, , pas de pluie..les 3 dernier jours c etais genial plus de vent gros soleil et tres chaud...

I already did a tour in Peru 10 years ago in the Pacaya Samiria reserve, and it was amazing.
The simple reason was that the tour was on a motor-free canoe—we made no noise, so the immersion was total.
Is it possible to find a tour in Leticia that offers a motor-free boat excursion?

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
