Mon copain et moi avons 26 et 31 ans, et nous voulons aller passer le Jour de l'an à Punta Cana en République Dominicaine. Nous voulons rester 2 semaines. Il y a tellement d'hôtels à Punta Cana nous ne savons pas sur lequel arrêter notre choix !! Je trouve que le Iberostar Bavaro semble intéressant car on peut avoir accès à 2 autres hôtels Iberostar voisins, donc plus de choix pour les buffets et les restaurants. Nous aimons bien manger, donc il est important pour nous de choisir un hôtel où la nourriture est bonne et variée, surtout étant donné que nous restons 2 semaines. Aussi nous ne voulons pas être dans un hôtel de type "familial" où c'est bourré d'enfants. Est-ce que quelqu'un pourrait nous conseiller des bons hôtels à Punta Cana?
Punta Cana est un site hotelier tres dense, mais nous y étions en mai 2001, et nous avons choisi l'hotel RIU BAMBU 5*. le réve !!!!!!!!
la mer toute proche, la simplicité des lieux mélangés à un luxe certain, la nourriture excellente, animation correcte, disco, tout pour nous laisser un souvenir merveilleux. bien sur, pour nous, nous vous déconseillons de louer une voiture car trop "dangereux"
lA CHAMBRE : dans un pavillon de 4 chambres, appréciable, très confortable, très propre, baignoire, mini-bar rempli tous les 2 jours;
bien sur, les prix aujourd'hui ne sont pas les mêmes en comparaison, et oui, la vie a drolement augmenté !!!!!!!!!

Ma femme est moi partons à l'ibérostar bavaro deuxième quinzaine de novembre pour notre voyage de noce . Je peux vous dire que j 'ai fait de longues recherches pour trouver un séjour inoubliable.Il en ressort que cet hotel est vraiment Magique du point de vue de la nourriture, des chambres, du domaine et de la plage qui est sans doute la plus belle de punta cana .
quant à nous, nous n'attendons plus que ça, vivement le 14/11 😏
Petite rectification, pour avoir passé des heures et heures à rechercher un hotel vers punta cana (qui me laisse un souvenir inoubliable) je tiens à dire que l'iberostar BAVARO se trouve bien vers punta cana (coté atlantique) et non vers bayahibe (coté caraïbes)... il y a plusieurs ibérostar !

En janvier 2003 je suis allée au Secrets excellence de Punta Cana en voyage de noces. Wow. Il y a 7 resto à la carte tous incroyables et un resto type buffet. La plage est écoeurante... Il y a un bain tourbillon dans toutes les chambres et c'est un hotel 18 ans+, donc pas d'enfant. Le site est enchanteur. C'est le dernier hotel de la pointe alors c'est très tranquille. Nous avons marché 2 heures sur la plage sans rencontrer personne un matin. Je le recommande fortement à tous ceux qui veulent se faire chouchouter. Le seul HIC, c'est le prix. C'est un 5* donc un peu plus cher que la moyenne. Mais ça vaut le prix. En plus, quand nous y étions, nous connaissions des gens dans les autres hotels tout près (Sirenis, Grand Paradise) et les commentaires que nous avons entendu c'est que pour leur buffet, si tu te présentais un peu trop tard, il manquait de choix de plats...
Nous avons séjourné au Palladium pour une semaine en avril 03. Très prope comme chambre et belle végétation. Bon buffet . Trois restaurant a la carte tout aussi bon l'un que l'autre. Très proche de la mer. 30 minutes de l'aréoport. Mini frigo rempli a tout les jours de boisson local, cola et eau. offret de sureté dans la chambre. Discothèque laisse a désiré mais les shows sont normallement bon. Pour ceux et celles qui aime la marche vous serez comblé. Pas coquillage plage très propre. Nous retournons a 5 hotle vers le bateau échoué ce que vous verrez si vous y allé.
Somme toute très bon choix. Mais vous pouvez vous arrêtez sur le Caribé Club Princess, Tout aussi beau et moins dispendieux.
Pour Punta Cana, si tu veux passer un voyage de rêve dans le meilleur All-IN, je te conseille le PARADISUS Punta Cana de la chaine hoteliere SOL MELIA. TOUT est gratuit, jusqu' à la plongée, le champagne, même les cigarettes pour ceux qui fument ! Buffets excellents et variés, Personnel très gentil et serviable. Bien sur, ce n'est pas le - cher !
Par contre, si je peux te donner un conseil, va plutôt passer tes vacances au Mexique. Moi, j'ai été passer 15 jours à l'hôtel Iberostar Paraiso Beach***** et je peux t'affirmer que c'est encore plus beau que la République Dominicaine. L'hôtel possède une piscine incroyable ( 10' à pied pour aller d'un bout à l'autre ! ) avec cascade, 2 jacuzzis, jet d'eau ( massages ), bar-piscines, ... Egalement une plage privée très chouette, les mexicains sont encore plus sympas, il y a des animaux en liberté dans les immenses jardins de l'hôtel, la ville de playa del carmen ( 15' ) est désservie par autocar toute la journée et en soirée par un bus de l'hôtel (sympa pour les achats), ...
Que dire de plus sinon que tu ne dois pas hésiter...Pour moi, je retournerai plutôt au Mexique qu'en République Dominicaine.

Justement nous sommes allés en février dernier à Riviera Maya, j'ai d'ailleurs vu l'hôtel dont tu me parles, l'Iberostar Paraiso. Il est très beau! Mais nous nous étions logé au Barcelo Maya Beach Resort qui était très très bien aussi. J'ai ADORÉ le Mexique et Riviera Maya, c'Était la première fois que j'allais au Mexique. J'y retournerais demain matin! Mais cette fois-ci nous avons voulu essayer quelque chose de nouveau : la République Dominicaine. Nous avons opté pour le Palladium Bavaro Resort & Spa, anciennement le Fiesta Bavaro. J'espère que nous serons satisfaits!

I wanted to share a great discovery in the Marakele area because, in the end, this park doesn’t get talked about much compared to Kruger, even though it’s really worth the detour.
We discovered Cypiro Leopard Lodge, right next to Marakele National Park in the Waterberg. It’s a small property with just a few villas and suites, so it’s nothing like the big, crowded lodges. What we loved most was the feeling of being truly at the end of the world—lots of space, silence, and almost no one around.
And yet, it’s only about 3 hours from Johannesburg. Once you leave Joburg, the road is pretty straightforward, and you quickly find yourself in a much wilder Africa.
Marakele National Park was a huge surprise for us. There are plenty of animals, the Big Five are present, but best of all, very few people. At times, we drove for quite a while without seeing another car. It’s such a change from parks where you sometimes end up with 15 cars around one animal.
The landscapes are also stunning, with the Waterberg mountains, plains, and beautiful views from some of the trails.
We also learned on-site that Marakele is known for its very large Cape vulture colony—around 800 breeding pairs. When you climb into the mountains and see them soaring above, it’s pretty impressive.
The entire Waterberg region is actually a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve, and you quickly understand why once you’re there.
As for Cypiro, it’s a lodge that was recently taken over by French owners—really nice and approachable. The place is quite exclusive since there are very few accommodations. The villas and suites each have their own private pool, a wood-fired hot bath (like a KolKol), a braai, and an outdoor fireplace.
Evenings are especially lovely, especially with the peace and quiet all around.
Another thing we found really convenient: you can organize your stay however you like.
You can come self-catering and cook for yourself. There’s a supermarket in the nearby small town, practically on the way in, so you can do your shopping before arriving without making a big detour.
Or you can ask them to organize everything with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Their chef, Ernest, cooks really well, and it lets you completely unwind for a few days.
We liked being able to alternate: some quiet meals on our own and others prepared for us.
That’s actually one of the things we appreciated here—it’s not an ultra-formal lodge where everything is scheduled at fixed times. You can head out early to Marakele, come back for lunch, enjoy the pool, go back out in the late afternoon, then have a braai or a relaxed dinner in the evening.
In terms of price, we also found the value for money really good for this level of accommodation and especially for the very private feel of the place. Sometimes it feels like you’re in a much more expensive lodge.
If you’re looking for lots of activity and dozens of people around you, this probably isn’t the right spot.
But for peace, wildlife, nature, wide-open spaces, and that feeling of being a little alone in the world, we absolutely loved it.

And if anyone knows Marakele or the Waterberg well, I’d love to hear about other spots to discover in the area.
While digging through the archives 🔍, we discovered a 19th-century journal 📜 bearing the name: "Le Petit Baigneur, weekly journal of beaches, spa towns, and thermal resorts in the South of France", published as early as 1886. Its motto? "All for the baths and by the baths" 🏖️ — what a program!
We found the name so amusing that we chose it to rename our hotel: Hôtel Le Petit Baigneur!
140 years later, we’re carrying on this seaside tradition of the South of France in our own way 🏊♂️ — with a few fewer crinolines, but just as much love for the seaside. 😊

I found a hotel, the Kappa Club Crystal Bay Resort, and online reviews for this hotel recommend a guide named Omar. I contacted him via WhatsApp, and he's offering a 2-day, 1-night safari in Tsavo East, a "blue safari," and a Marafa Canyon day trip for 400 € per person.
I’m asking for help from people who’ve already done these excursions because I have no idea what these offers entail.

I was thinking of going to Martinique, but apparently, the hotels aren’t all-inclusive, which might be a hassle. If you have any advice, that’d be great. Is the latter one reliable?

Bonjour nous arriverons dimanche 5 mai ( à partir de 16h25) à l'aéroport de Punta Cana pour profiter d'un séjour que mon amie à gagner à l’hôtel Gran Bahia Principe La Romana.
L'avion est offert par la compagnie aérienne, l'hôtel je pense par la chaine hôtelière, mais aujourd'hui je m’inquiète du transfert car aucune info et j'apprends que rien n'est prévu.
D’après ce que j'ai vu le dernier car expreso part de Punta Cana à 16h00
Y-a t'il d'autres moyens de transports collectif (guagua) qui puisse faire le trajet ou au moins nous avancer jusqu'à La Romana ou San Pedro de Marcoris et je pense qu'on finira le trajet en taxi.
Si c'est trop compliqué ça sera navette privée mais on est plus "lonely planet " que navette privée et hôtel tout inclus.
