Nous arrivons avec mon ami à l'aéroport de Denpasar à 1h40 du matin. Pour l'obtention des visas, nous comptions les faire sur place, à notre arrivée. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

On obtient un visa d'un mois à l'arrivée en Indonesie.
Je doute qu'ils ferment l'immigration si un avion arrive à 01h40 du mat...
Donc pour moi, pas de soucis.

Oui votre idée est bien si vous n'y restez qu'un mois autrement il faut demander à l'ambassade et vous obtiendrez 2 mois car avec un mois vous pouvez le prolonger, mais il faut trouver les bureaux et c'est tellement corrompu que vous vous énerverez. Croyez en 2 vagabonds qui font le tour du monde, nous avons demandé un visa de 1 an qui nous a coûté la peau des fesses, 1250 USD par pers, et 2 semaines de tracasseries, quand on a voulu le prolonger ce que nous pouvions faire 5 x 1 an, on nous demandait juste pour un tampon 750 USD on les a envoyé balader. Mais comme ils étaient furieux, on a du payer 100 USD pour Canceler un visa qui était terminé.
Nous avons visité 20 îles, magnifique, durant 13 mois et là nous sommes en Chine pour 6 mois ( visa de 2 ans pour 240 USD avec multiples entrées séjours de 180 jours ) Comme il va faire froid, nous pensons demander un visa de 2 mois à l'ambassade de Hong Kong pour visiter les Sulawesi que nous n'avons pas eu le temps de faire.
Bon voyage et marchandez à fond, les prix peuvent être basser de moitié voir des 3/4 où c'est touristique et sur bali dites carrément des prix ridicules ça marche quitte à remonter un tout petit peu. Location d'une voiture ( petite suzuki sur Bali ) 6 à 7 Euros par jour, moto 2 à 3 Euros. A Jakarta on a loué une voiture plus grande pour 4 mois, une Toyota Avanza super de 2008 pour 8 Euros par jour. 15'000 kms Pour que vous ayez une idée. Hôtels sans clim avec piscine Sanur 6 Euros la chambre super. Avec clim le 16 Euros même chambre. Kuta c'est bien moins cher.
Tout de bon pour votre voyage. Les 2 vagabonds en route depuis le 10.10.07 et c'est pas terminé. Monique et Charly

Bonjour, En arrivant à Bali on obtient contre rémunération 25 US$ un visa on arrival, qui est bien spécifié NOT EXTENDDABLE
pour la suite, nous avons galéré pour en avoir un de 12 mois avec un aller retour à Singapour. On l'a eu en payant très cher.1250 US$ par pers qui peut se prolonger durant 5 ans, mais les 3 premières années ils demandent 750 US$ pour un tampon la on les a envoyé baladé. Mais on a du payer 100 US$ pour canceler un visa qui se terminait. Bali c'est les plus voleurs. Sur Java c'est moins cher et sur le Timor encore moins cher.
Pour le reste je ne sais pas. Quelqu'un d'autre vous renseignera.
Par contre une astuce, il nous reste les cartes de police avec nos photos, et ça nous rend d'immenses services ici en Chine depuis passé 4 mois on a partout demi tarif. Elles ne valent plus rien mais ils n'y comprennent rien alors super on récupérent un peu notre mise.

C'est bien d'en avoir, et de 2 formats, car si vous en donnez des petites il en faudra des grandes, et vice versa. Et puis ça ne prend pas de place. Et surtout ça vous évite de courir, ou de vous faire arnaquer avec le prix car des fois il n'y en a qu'un dans le coin et il le sait. Et il suffit que vous décidiez d'aller voir un autre pays en cours de route....😎 Bonne route.

Je crois qu'on t'a répondu. J'ai toujours quelques photos d'identité dans le fond du sac. Jamais nullepart on ne m'a demandé des photos d'un autre format pour l'obtention d'un visa.

J'ai lu qu'il fallait forcément un billet qui montre qu'on va quitter le pays, mais ils ne regardent donc pas la date?

Quand on arrive en Indonésie, on obtient un visa on arrival 30 Days, SINGLE, NOT EXTENDABLE.
Par contre si on fait un visa d'une durée de deux mois dans son propre pays, il est ensuite plus facile de faire une extension.
Nous avions au départ un visa on arrival, et nous avons du aller à Singapour pour avoir un autre visa, pour nous de 12 mois, multiples entry, mais ils sont malades c'est une embrouille terrible et cher env 800 Euros. PAS BESOIN DE BILLET ALLER RETOUR.
Un conseil c'est facile de faire un visa à l'ambassade, faire une demande de formulaire par Internet en PDF et moins cher que un aller retour Singapour.
Bon voyage et bien du plaisir, l'Indonésie c'est magnifique, un peu, pas mal, même beaucoup sale, mais on ne regarde que les belles choses.

Malgré cela je pense que ça reste moins cher, si c'est possible sans sortir du pays, d'effectuer la prolongation sur place car pour le faire en France, les frais sont bien plus élevés, surtout si on le fait par courrier. A priori depuis janvier 2010 les démarches d'extension ont été rendues possible. De quand date ton voyage?
Je maintiens donc ma question sur le fait de savoir si ça gêne ou non l'immigration d'avoir un billet de sortie du pays à une date supérieure d'1 mois.

Oui effectivement le temps passe tellement vite, nous avons fait l'Indonésie du 17 sept 08 au 15 oct 09. Si ça a changé c'est une bonne chose, car ça faisait fuir certains touristes avec leurs magouilles.
Et ça dépend aussi sur quelle île on arrive. Les îles moins connues qui Bali sont plus cool.

Bon et bien je ne compte pas arriver à Bali, et effectivement les démarches administratives changent très vite. A priori ça a changé en 2010 (tout comme pour la Thaïlande il me semble, le Laos pour la frontière terrestre avec le Cambodge, la Birmanie.... 😉 )

Merci pour les infos, mais tout ces pays ont déjà été fait et terminé, ça fait passé 3 ans qui nous tournons en Asie, encore 2 à 3 mois la Corée du Sud, puis le Japon, encore un petit peu le sud de la Chine et la Mongolie, Hong-kong, Taiwan et ensuite ça sera l'Australie. En faisant le tour du monde on essaye de passer partout, mais c'est des fois difficile, si nous continuons à ce rythme, il va falloir tenir jusqu'à passé 100 ans pour revenir au point de départ. Comme tout progresse on a espoir. Hi! Hi!

Ah mais je ne parlais pas pour toi spécialement, je disais simplement que les démarches administratives changent très rapidement et que des infos de 2008 peuvent commencer à devenir obsolètes pour l'Asie!! 😉

Oui heureusement que ça devient plus facile, c'est toujours la barbe quand on voyage d'être à la merci de visas. C'est du temps perdu et des fois c'est cher. tout de bon pour le prochain voyage.

Ils ne demandent pas le billet retour, mais n'est-il pas enregistré dans le passeport et donc ils ont un moyen de le voir? J'aurai aimé acheter mon billet se sortie plus ou moins au dernier moment...

oui le plus tôt sera le mieux. ne t'y prend pas au dernier moment. fais ton extension en fonction de ton itinéraire. extension à partir de la date limite figurant sur le VOA.

Non il n'y a pas de problème du tout, en plus il n'y a pas besoin d'avoir un billet de retour, nous voyageons depuis passé 3 ans sans billets de retour, et n'avons jamais eu de problème même pas en Chine. Bon voyage et profitez bien de l'île de Java. Jakarta pas terrible mais sur Java il y a beaucoup à voir. Si vous restez un mois louez une voiture ce n'est pas cher du tout. Nous avions loué une voiture à Jakarta pour 4 mois ( 3 mois Sumatra 1 mois Java ) pour 17'000'000 Ruphias assurance comprise. Si on cabossait la voiture on devait payer 50 US$ et si nous la ( perdions eh oui ) c'était 100 US$. Si vous avez besoin du numéro de tél de cette petite agence, je vous la ferais parvenir ( en privé ). Permis international obligatoire.

Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist! But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point. I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing! In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing! I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me! If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April. My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date. Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry. However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)

Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht). This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea? Thanks for the info! If you’d like tips on Khao Lak and the surrounding areas, we’ve got some experience, though things change fast! Cheers, Bruno.

We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.

I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia. For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France? I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Just a question that’s probably been asked before (though usually the other way around for my situation :))
My wife and I are heading to the US.
On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
Does anyone have any recent info on this?
