j ai vecu plusieurs mois a siem reap et j ai aussi trouve que la ville avait moins de charme que phnom penh
les temples restent vingt dollars la journee pour les residents comme pour les touristes sinon tu peux aller voir la ferme au crocodile, le cultural village (route de l aeroport)...une alternative aux temples moins couteuse, c est d aller pique niquer et pecher au bord du lac, comme le font les khmers le week end.
l avantage de siem reap par rapport a phnom penh, c est de pouvoir profiter de la campagne tout en etant tres proche du centre ville, en louant une petite maison ou bungalow un peu a l ecart des quartiers touristiques.
pour la vie nocturne, tu as la rue de la soif, assez bruyante et touristique, et d autres bars sympas autour tenu par des francais comme le laundry bar ou le siem reap web brasserie. il y a tres peu de bars a hotesses a siem reap compare a phnom penh, c est une volonte gouvernementale, pour preserver la vitrine culturelle du cambodge.
En fait, je suis egalement residant de Phnom Penh. Simplement, j'ai un ami qui vit a Siem Reap depuis pres d'un an a present. Je pense qu'il doit avoir pas mal d'infos a ce sujet (sortie, lieux interessants, ...) et si tu le souhaites, je peux peut etre te mettre en contact.
Je comprends neanmois tes craintes... Sieam reap, ca doit pas etre facile d'y vivre.
J'habite a Siem Reap depuis peu de temps et c'est vrai que c'est une ville moins attrayante que Phnom Penh.J'ai vecu aussi a P.P. Siem Reap est une ville dont on a vite fait le tour.Bon, il y a les Temples qui sont magnifiques et pour ceux qui sont accros des vieilles pierres, il y en a 270 a visiter.Ca peut occuper un certain temps. La campagne est tres proche ainsi que le lac Barang, sortie dominicale des khmers.Il y a la Ferme aux crocodiles, les artisans d'Angkor, les belles piscines des differents hotels de luxe ( Sokha, Sofitel, Le Victoria...etc...) et la celebre Rue de la soif, qui pour moi est une veritable cacophonie aussi bien auditive que visuelle.Tous les bars imposent leur musique de preference a donf avec au milieu de la rue un petit orchestre de musique khmere qui a bien du mal a se faire entendre, et cette pollution visuelle pour les touristes avec promotions sur le prix des bieres et les Happy Hours.Et depuis 1 semaine, ce sont les ecrans geants diffusants la Coupe du Monde de foot.Alors pour ceux qui ne sont ni accros de musiques ni de foot, il existe des endroits plus calme qu'il faut savoir denicher.Je pense a l'Abacus et son jardin exotique, je pense au Linga Bar, le bar gay de S.R. et je pense a ces restos tres sympas tenus par des francais avec des cadres merveilleux comme Les Carnets d'Asie, Les Orientalistes, Le Viroth, Le Cafe Indochine......
Sinon, promenades sur le Tonle Sap et ses villages lacustres.

Alors finalement je ne sais pas si je logerai a Sra Srang ou a Siem Reap...

La ville de Siem Reap est vraiment moche et n'a aucun intérêt sauf bien sur d'être à coté d'Angkor... Il y a un resto français à coté de l'hotel "Neak Pean", ça peut toujours être sympa de rencontrer des compatriotes pour boire un verre ! Le patron est un jeune installé depuis plus d'un an là-bas !
Je viens de lire le post de Behel, le nom du resto c'est "L'abacus" !
😉 ..... décidemment il faut te surveiller dans tes appréciations sur le Cambodge ..... comment tu peux dire que Siem Reap est moche .... ? peut être toi tu n'y trouves pas de charme, mais moi j'y ai déjà séjourné trois fois et j'aime bien cette petite ville, flâner le long de la rivière, son vieux marché en plein centre, ses salons de massage ou il n'y a aucune confusion quant aux soins apportés aux clients, son petit centre justement pas trop envahi le soir venu et ou il fait bon dîner ou prendre un verre, ..... et puis à partir de Siem Reap il y a tout un tas de possibilités d'excursions sur le lac et les villages flottants de perk Kantiel et Kampong Phluk, avec leurs crocodiles du Siam en cages ..... et le port de Chong Kheas embarquement pour les forêts inondées du parc national de Prek Toal ou observer une faune sauvage de toute beauté, et celà à toute époque ...... et fin du fin, les temples d'Angkor ou là ce n'est que du bonheur à l'infini .......
Je pense qu'il faut prendre Siem Reap comme un tout et ne pas se cantonner au seul village ......

Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
