Bonjour à tous,
alors après deux tentatives infructueuses (la première accident de scoot avant de partir, la seconde arrivée à téhéran mais pas de visa accordé à l'aéroport et gentille expulsion de mes amis douaniers pour dubai!), je vais tenter d'y retourner dans 15j.
Avant que vous ne lisiez mon post, merci à toutes celles et ceux que j'ai pu lire sur le forum pour glaner quelques informations en avance. Si vous avez des conseils sur ce trip je suis évidemment preneur.
Je vais tenter le visa au fameux consulat à Trabzon pour la simple et bonne raison que mon passeport n'a plus 6 mois de validité et si je le fais à l'ambassade d'iran à Paris à tous les coups ils vont me le refuser, je compte sur la souplesse turque (je ne sais pas pourquoi d'ailleurs, ni si elle existe, mais je me dis qu'une fois sur place, demander un visa de 15jours avec preuve d'une billet d'avion retour au départ de Teheran + un grand sourire, cela devrait marcher).
Alors voici le périple :
MARDI 14 :
Avion : PARIS ISTANBUL ISTANBUL TRABZON
MERCREDI 15 :
le fameux VISA en un jour ? (apparement d'après les post c'est possible avec 75eur et 2 photos) ce qui permettra d'actualiser fraichement la possibilité des visas iraniens en 2014 dans ce désormais mythique consultat de Trabzon
JEUDI 16
En une journée faire TRABZON - VAN et arriver avant 21H pour prendre le trans asia express (départ le jeudi à 21H30)
si il faut départ le mercredi soir de TRABZON, apparement ville la plus proche ERZURUM.
C'est sur ce point que j'en appelle à vos expériences de transports turques!
et après yala pour l'Iran! si je rate le train (car cela a l'air compliqué mais pas impossible!) je tenterais le coup en bus pr rejoindre teheran...
(là je ne me suis pas rencardé mais je trouverai peut etre quelques discussions)

ou en tout cas si c'était vraiment différent niveau ambiance dans le sens EST - OUEST, je demande ca pour mon retour...car je n'ai pas beaucoup de temps sur place, je serai bien revenu en train, c'est à la toute base mon "reve" depuis 4ans dans le sens teheran istanbul, mais l'avion me permettrait de rester 3jours de plus en iran...bref...déjà je serai chanceux si je rejoins teheran en temps et en heure..
l'administration turque n'est pas spécialement souple, et de toutes façons, ce sont des fonctionnaires iraniens qui statueront sur votre demande de visa. Je ne sais pas si ils ont accès à l'historique de vos demandes de visa et expulsions précédentes (si oui, ça ne va probablement pas aider...). La condition d'avoir un passeport valide encore au moins 6 mois est exigée dans plein de pays, je ne suis pas sûre que "ça passera". Et même si ça passe au consulat de Trabzon, ça peut ne pas passer à la frontière, d'autant plus que la Police iranienne n'aura même pas besoin de vous trouver une place dans un vol retour pour vous refouler vers la Turquie... Bref, à votre place je ferais renouveler le passeport avant de partir.
Pour la petite histoire, quand ils m'ont expulsé à mon arrivée à terhan airport en 2011, ils ont voulu que je paie mon billet pour retourner sur Dubai !
je leur ai dit : vous ne voulez pas que je vienne chez vous, je vais quand meme pas payer pour retourner chez moi!
Le seule truc que j'ai réussi dans ce trip là!
OUi pour le passeport j'ai énormément de doutes. Mais c'est impossible d'aller faire mon nouveau passeport, puis d'obtenir mon visa à Paris et de partir pour mi janvier !
Je sens que la troisième tentative ne sera pas la bonne :(
si la règle est d'avoir un passeport valide 6 mois et c'est pas le cas...ça peut être dur... je pense que le plus simple est de tenter un passeport en urgence en France.
concernant le transport trabzon/van, c'est faisable dans la journée, peut-être un changement à Erzurum mais le billet acheté à trabzon sera valable jusqu'a Van.
Concernant le train, une petite remarque. Pourquoi ne pas aller de trabzon à Dogubeyazit en bus et passer directement la frontière puis de prendre un bus pour Tabriz puis téhéran ? ils sont plus fréquents que le train...

J'avoue que j'avais un gros faible pour le train mais je vais y songer sérieusement.
Quant à mon passeport, pr la règle des 6 mois de validité, je mise sur le fait que je sois sur place avec un billet retour tehran istanbul 15jours plus tard. Histoire qu'à l'ambassade ils voient bien que je vais repartir d'iran sous peu et que je ne compte pas y rester en clandestino :)

Pourquoi as-tu été refoulé à l'aeroport en 2011? Validité du passport, pas de visa délivré surplace ou pas de billet de retour?
Pour info je pars par train de Turquie pour Teheran et on doit le prendre à Ankara (la ligne d'Istanbul en travaux).
Et je me demandais d'ailleur si on pouvais avoir le visa à la frontière apres Van?

sans vouloir jouer les oiseaux de mauvais augure, se pointer au consulat iranien de Trabzon ou à la frontière vers Dogubeyazit avec un billet retour via Istanbul et un passeport valide moins de 6 mois, ça risque de ne pas émouvoir beaucoup la Police iranienne : s'ils vous refusent le visa ou l'entrée en Iran à cause de la fin de validité de votre passeport, vous ne perdrez que le segment Teheran - Istanbul de votre vol. Simplement, à ce prix, la date de retour n'est probablement pas modifiable, donc vous aurez du temps pour faire du tourisme en Turquie ou dans une région voisine sans visa (Géorgie par exemple, depuis Trabzon c'est facile, bien que l'hiver ne soit pas la saison idéale pour visiter cette région).

Meg2, oui les regles sont sans doute les memes, j'hésite vraiment à partir, car ca fait bientot 4ans que je veux réussir à atteindre l'iran par la voix terrestre ou train...l'impression d'avoir réussi un trip insolite, où tu dois explorer tes limites, te dépatouiller pour trouver des solutions et arriver à ton but... je m'enflamme un peu..mais c'est ce que j'ai ressenti en chien en novembre..face à cette masse de gens ne parlant pas anglais, dialoguer à flots de signes et de mimiques du visages pour te faire comprendre...

Le prix est-il toujours de 75€ par personne ? Et comment paye t'on, en monnaie turque ? Toujours pas besoin de lettre d'invitation, juste des noms et adresses d'hotels ?
En 2012 j'avais payer 75euro et pour le faire il fallait aller dans une banque pour pouvoir payer en direct sur le compte de l'ambassade.
Le tout était fait en 1h sans vraiment de problème, et il était vraiment pas regardant...
Pour le trajet Trabzon-Van je l'avais fait en 2jours en auto-stop.

visa accordé dans la journée mais cela a un prix. Suis passé par Trabzon en février 2012, en plus la ville est vraiment très plaisante.
Sinon plus de nouvelles du dénommé Renaud38, son histoire ne tient pas debout. D'ailleurs il n'a pas répondu quand les questions se sont faites plus précises. Et je serai curieux de connaitre ses impressions sur son voyage en Afghanistan et comment a t-il fait pour passer des Usa ouest, aux Pays bas à l'Aghanistan de juin à août 2011. Ensuite le type dit partir en Chine en décembre (à ce titre on attend toujours son compte rendu) et sur un autre post dit partir en Turquie dans 15jours.....Je vous invite à lire ses posts et sa liste de voyages datés sur son profil

On vous donnera un morceau de papier avec le numero de banque a crediter dans l agence centrale de iS BANKASi qui se trouve sur l avenue principale de la ville
Virement sans encombres ils sont habitues dans cette banque.
Prevoir des billets en Euro a l avance sinon le distributeur en face chez la banque avec le loge de la BNP delivre des euros!
Retour l apres midi vers 16h45 et la bingo. monsieur le consul a accepte les 30 jours de visa demande, merci l iRAN
Le consulat se trouve sur KiZiL TOPRAK caddessii en remontant l avenue iSTiKLAL et coupant a gauche a travers le parc avec les gros bonhommes colores en plastique qui servent de balancoires pour les enfants😮
Trabzon est une ville interessante et differente du sud de la turquie d ou je venais, on y mange bien surtout de magnifique petits anchois grilles/frits pour moins de 3 euros le plat chez BALiK MURAT au sud de la place centrale de MAiDAN
l Hotel Benli meme si un peu decati et sent le renferme est parfait pour un sejour pas cher pour 20 liras la chambre et position centrale derrierre la mosquee visible de la place
Les dolmus locaux vous ameneront la ou vous voulez: station de bus ou l autre cote de la ville ( eglise/mosquee Aya sophia )pour 1,75 Lira

Je pense me rendre en bus d'ici à Trabzon pour gagner du tps, et redescendre à Van en vélo pour prendre le fameux train de Van à Tabriz, ceci pour gagner du temps encore. Ca fait 2 mois que je suis parti de France et je ne veux pas manquer de temps pour l'Asie Centrale. A ce propos quelqu'un sait-il si on peut avoir les visas turkmènes et ouzbek à Trabzon?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
