Hi Mathieu, I’m heading to Cuba in July. I’d like to stay at Elsa’s place but I can’t reach them by email. I’ve tried both addresses I have. Do you know if they’ve changed their address? Thanks in advance

Hi Véronique

Have you tried this address? elsarrentcuba@nauta.cu

Otherwise, you can try this site (it has photos of the apartment, the location, the price, etc.) http://renthavanacuba.com/house/get_house/54

Good luck! ;-)

Hi Mathieu, and thank you for your reply. I managed to reach them through the site, and it's looking good!! I'm so excited about staying with them. Thanks for this great tip!

this site is a Mexico-based middleman, anything but Cuban! Until recently, it was hosted in Miami and Texas....

Hi, Can Rodolfo and Elsa host 4 travelers (2 couples)?

From what I can tell, there shouldn’t be any issue since there are two bedrooms and they welcome families. You can send them an email—Elsa will get back to you quickly ;)

hi Ms. PIERRA I have an excellent casa with a landlady who’s a real mom to her guests! 25 CUC per night. The meals are very good and reasonably priced (around 10 CUC for dinner).

But it’s in Vedado, 25th Street between 4th and 6th. You’ll need to take a taxi to get to Habana Vieja. However, Vedado is a really nice neighborhood too—it’s close to 23rd Street and the Malecón. This is your message—would you be so kind as to give me the address and email address (if there is one) for this casa? Thanks so much. Best regards.

hi I’m leaving today for Havana to stay in a casa for a month. I’ve already stayed in Vedado—private entrance and patio. You can check out their site: casa pacoymercy 30 CUC, very clean. Taxi to Old Havana is 5 CUC. It’s on Calle 19 at the corner of 20. There are lots of casas in this area. This is your message—could you give me the contact details for this casa? Best,

Hi, I know your post is old, but better late than never. I recommend the following site:

https://www.casasparticulares.net/fr

There, the houses are ranked based on quality, and the owner’s friendliness is one of the most important factors. Don’t let bad experiences discourage you—there are excellent options in Cuba.

I was really disappointed by the attitude of several casa owners in Havana during my last trip. The welcome was often cold, the owners seemed to have pesos instead of hearts, everything was counted—next thing you know, they’d charge you for the air you breathe. Ugh... Do your research before picking a casa! And take advantage of the tips from forum members who’ve had better experiences than I did! Personally, I was so put off that I’m not sure I’d stay in a casa in Havana again.

Hi, I’m thinking of going to Cuba sometime in November. Among the booking sites, I’ve found Hostelworld and Airbnb (and none of the usual ones!). Yours interests me, but it seems significantly more expensive? Do you know if it’s not the same standard? Also, I couldn’t find the quality/hospitality rating... Thanks.
