Hi everyone,
I often travel solo, and even though I love it, I also like the idea of traveling with someone and not just "meeting people on the spot"...
I’ve already tried Facebook groups or forums, but people rarely follow through with travel plans... and I find some really lack seriousness!
Do you know any other alternatives for finding travel companions?
Little detail: I’m definitely not into group tours or organized trips... ^^
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Thirty-seven years ago, I crossed Lapland on skis in winter...
Four years later, I returned by bike to the Lofoten Islands.
Now, I’d like to go back to this stunning country by sea kayak—a sport I’ve been practicing for the past 10 years. If it’s possible to meet up with one or more people for this little trip this year, it’s pretty quick to organize. Otherwise, in 2026, I’d love to kayak around Norway as well. If you’d like to join me for part of the route, that’d be awesome. Some sections require solid kayaking skills and excellent physical condition.
I’m 58 and retired this year—in September—due to disability.
Looking forward to your questions and/or interest in joining!

Hello,
With a couple of friends, I’m looking for a teammate (or up to two people max) interested in exploring Iceland in the areas I’ve circled on the attached document. This trip will focus on the island’s interior, traveling through the tracks of the 'Icelandic desert' where the landscapes are stunning—including the Myvatn region, Landmannalaugar, the Golden Circle, and the Askja area. A 4x4 is essential (rental to be arranged). The itinerary includes discovering well-known and hidden spots, photography, short treks (2 to 4 hours), relaxing in hot springs, and soaking up the unique atmosphere of this incredible country I’ve visited several times before. Average age of participants already on the list: 62, but we’ve all traveled extensively across all five continents. It’d be great if anyone interested could take turns driving the 4x4, but it’s not mandatory. 😎😎 Looking forward to hearing from you, takk fyrir!
Hello,
I’m 65 years old, from Montpellier, and I love traveling—discovering new countries, new cultures, but most of all, meeting people and enjoying what life still has to offer.
I’m pretty curious, unconventional, and love living life to the fullest. I enjoy stepping off the beaten path.
Routine is definitely not my thing! 😄
I’m looking for men or women, roughly between 35 and 80 years old, who share the same love for travel and, most importantly, the same mindset: open-minded, positive, tolerant, curious, with a sense of humor and a desire to enjoy life.
I appreciate people who embrace differences, aren’t judgmental, and with whom you can talk about anything, laugh, and put the world to rights over a good meal or a drink… in short, people who love life! 🥂
Just to clarify, my search is strictly platonic, with no flirting or ambiguity.
The idea is to make meaningful connections, share outings, getaways, and maybe even future trips together.
✈️ I’ve already been lucky enough to travel to Thailand, Turkey, Israel, Italy, Cuba, Greece & some Greek islands, and the United States… and Japan is currently in the works.
For 2027, the list of destinations is long: Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Tahiti… and more! 🌍
Why not start by simply getting to know each other over a coffee, a meal, or an outing? If the vibe is right, we can then plan little getaways or trips together.
I’m thinking of a small group of 2 to 5 people max, to keep the atmosphere friendly and really enjoy each other’s company.
And of course, everyone keeps their independence and books their own room. We share the trips and the good times, not necessarily the room! 😉
I’m not looking to collect contacts. I’m looking for the right people.
So, if you recognize yourself in this mindset, message me privately, and we’ll chat and see where it takes us.
Traveling is wonderful. Traveling with the right people is even better. 🌍✈️🥂
Hi there,
I’m heading to Patagonia from mid-November to mid-January. I’m looking for travel buddies who are used to backpacking in a simple, go-with-the-flow way: long hikes, treks, and of course some sightseeing.
From Buenos Aires down to Ushuaia, then back up to Santiago de Chile.
On a budget-friendly basis with youth hostels, camping, maybe some bivouacking, and occasionally a bit of comfort too.
The cost of living is high, both in Argentina and Chile: you’ll need to plan for a significant budget for two months.
I’m bringing my small tent, sleeping mat, and sleeping bag—all weighing just 2 kg—and a minimalist backpack for more freedom.
My flights depart from Basel; I live in Belfort.
I’m 57, passionate about mountain sports, and I also love cycling around the world.
Looking forward to sharing this trip!
Christine
Looking for a travel partner to visit the Azores for 2 to 3 weeks starting around September 14th. Simple hotels or even better, staying with locals, and a rental car to get around freely. Sharing costs, of course. A few easy hikes. Itinerary to be decided together—plenty of room for spontaneity. Good vibes guaranteed!
Calling all adventurers!
We’re a group of 3 ready to go, and due to a last-minute cancellation, there’s a 4th spot up for grabs.
Our loop itinerary will take us from the capital to the coast (Sandwich Harbor, Swakopmund, etc.), the Damaraland (Spitzkoppe, Brandberg, Twyfelfontein, etc.), Etosha, the local vineyards, and Waterberg. Expect visits, hikes, and safaris. We’ll camp every other night and travel in my own 4x4.
I live there, by the way, and know the country like the back of my hand. It never gets old!
Departing from Paris on the evening of March 18th, returning to Windhoek on the evening of April 2nd.
Hope to see you soon!

I'm looking for a travel companion for New Zealand from December 13th to January 5th (give or take 3 days) for a mix of hikes and city discoveries, with room for spontaneity along the way and meeting new people.
With a rental car or campervan.
Nothing booked yet.
I love road trips and meeting people.
I love road trips and meeting people.
I’ve been to Corsica once (Bonifacio) and Italy once (Tuscany), and I have great memories of both. I’d love to go back to one of these places, but this time on a road trip (with my car).
I enjoy walking (nothing too intense like 8-hour hikes), wandering around nature or cities at random, local crafts and specialties, a little beach time, lots of food and culinary discoveries, meeting people, music, and dancing (Latin).
This is the first time I’m posting here to find a travel buddy—up until now, I’ve mostly traveled solo or met up with friends already on location. It could be a great way to share the experience. I’m open to some planning to outline the itinerary, but also leaving room to adjust based on what feels good in the moment or any opportunities that come up. So, I’m thinking of booking accommodations last-minute sometimes—Airbnb, guesthouses, hotels, camping, etc.
Everything’s on the table, and I’d love to chat about it.
Hope to see you soon! Raphaël

hi
I just booked tickets for September–October 2026 (3 weeks) in Uzbekistan—a country I haven’t visited yet.
I’d love to find someone to join me for a few days of hiking in the mountains, but without going through a tour operator or hiring a guide.
If anyone’s interested or has already done this, I’d love to hear all your tips.
thanks
Hello,
Will there be anyone cycling in South Korea in September? Will there be anyone cycling in southern Japan in October?
I’m planning to arrive in Seoul at the very beginning of September, cross the country, then take a boat to Japan at the end of September. My route isn’t set yet, but I won’t go any farther north than Osaka. I’ll be heading back at the end of October.
I’ll be camping or bivouacking, with some hikes here and there. I’ll be doing between 0 and 100 km a day—it all depends on the climbs, the people I meet, the landscapes, and the weather.
It’d be great to share part of the journey with other cyclists. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Christine, 58, from Belfort, Franche-Comté, currently on a long break to travel.

We’re currently three retirees (one man and a couple) looking for one or two people to join us on a road trip through Patagonia by car.
Starting from Concepción in Chile, we’ll head to San Carlos de Bariloche (a possible meet-up point) in Argentina to reach Cabo Vírgenes. Then we’ll return via Route 40, with detours on the Chilean side (Torres del Paine, Lake General Carrera, Coyhaique).
We’ll pass by the Perito Moreno Glacier, Laguna del Desierto, Perito Moreno Park at the foot of San Lorenzo, Jeinemeni Park, Los Alerces Park, and more. A few hikes are planned.
Dates: November 6 to December 15, from Concepción back to Concepción.
Feel free to get in touch! Marc

Hi there,
We’re a pair in our 40s (young at heart!) from the Île-de-France region, and we don’t know each other yet.
We’re potentially looking for 1 or 2 people around our age to join us in Brazil from May 26 to June 8-9 for me, and until June 14 for Sébastien.
Estimated budget: around 2200-2500 €, including flights.
Our planned itinerary: Rio - Iguazu Falls - Costa Verde (requires a domestic round-trip flight from Rio to Iguazu, about 1h30 each way)
The idea is to share, have fun, explore, eat, and alternate between beaches, relaxation, hikes, and boat excursions... And why not try paragliding in Rio? Let’s go wild! ;)
We’re traveling in comfortable hotel/Airbnb mode.
Don’t hesitate to send us a quick email intro if you’re interested!
Looking forward to it, Kim

Hi,
I’d like to visit South America. I’ve always traveled solo and as a backpacker, but this time, I’d love to join a group or find a travel companion. I’m 63 and in great health. I speak fluent English. I’m open to other travel suggestions too. Thanks
I'm looking for a hiking partner for a full Pyrenees traverse in bivouac mode in summer 2026.
Starting from Banyuls, I'm planning a mix of GR10, GR 11, HRP, and Trans Pyr' to reach Hendaye, taking into account resupply options.
Daily stages of 6 to 8 hours or more, but enjoying the scenery in good spirits and sharing the experience. I'm a solid hiker—I don’t dawdle, but I don’t run either.
We should plan 2 or 3 multi-day hikes beforehand to get to know each other and see if we click.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently wandering around Thailand in Ao Nang, Krabi, and I’m here for a while, moving around based on the people I meet.
I love spending time traveling in Southeast Asia, and I’m planning to check out a few destinations: Malaysia, Indonesia...
I’m looking for a travel buddy to share part of the journey—I don’t have any set itineraries.
I’m pretty active, keen to see things, trek, hike, and have adventures without overthinking it.
Looking forward to chatting! ;)

I'm looking for hikers to walk the Saint-Guilhem Way in spring 2026 from May 17th to 30th and form a small group of 4 to 5 people.
Full route of the Saint-Guilhem Way starting from Aumont-Aubrac to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, passing through the Tarn and Jonte gorges (so taking the variant via Le Rozier).
Daily stages of 17 to 28 km depending on difficulty, places to visit, and accommodations. Around 260 km over 12 days of hiking and about 6 to 7 hours of walking per day.
Duration: 14 days (12 days of hiking + 1 arrival day / 1 departure day). No performance goals—just taking the time to see, discover, and enjoy the scenery.
I'm a 62-year-old man from the Alsace region. Contact me if interested! Rémy

Hello fellow adventurers! :)
I’m writing this little message to the community and adventurers because I’m thinking of heading to Morocco (a country I know well) for a week in February (around the 6th or 10th, for about a week) to climb Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains.
I’m used to hiking and backpacking, but this would be my first 4,000m peak.
I think the mountain landscapes are even more stunning in winter.
I know it’s necessary to hire a guide for this ascent.
Has anyone here already climbed it in winter? If so, any feedback or tips?
Also, if anyone wants to join me on this adventure, I’d love the company! :)
The idea would be to rent a car (around 10–15 € per day) and do some other hikes in the Marrakech area too.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Who am I? A 61-year-old solo adventurer looking for travel companions!
INDIA, NEPAL, SRI LANKA (entire 4- to 6-month trip). Flexible on dates! ... Spending winter 2026 in the sun.
While I love the freedom of independent travel, I find that a beautiful landscape or a good meal is even better when shared! So I’m looking to travel with others, whether for the entire trip or just a few stages or stretches of the journey, depending on our affinities and preferences. The important thing is to share unforgettable moments with joy and simplicity. My travel style, Mode: Backpack, local transport, ashrams, monasteries, cozy small guesthouses, or authentic local accommodations. Pace: Curious about everything! A good balance between cultural discoveries, nature walks/hikes, local immersion, and relaxation. Spiritual vibe: Good humor, adaptability, and respect for everyone’s independence. Does this resonate with you? Send me a private message so we can chat over coffee (or a video call)! See you soon - Éve

Hi there, I’m a 67-year-old woman living in Belgium, in good health. I’m looking for female or male travel companion(s) for a trip to Laos lasting 3 to 4 weeks max, preferably this year still—departure in October, returning by 15/11/26 at the latest.
Possible dates also from 29/01/27 to 15/03 at the latest, still for 3 to 4 weeks.
Departure from Brussels, Paris, or another airport depending on the price. We could also meet up there.
The goal is to travel relaxed using public transport where possible, visiting places like Luang Prabang and its surroundings, Vientiane and what there is to see around it, Vang Vieng, the Bolaven Plateau, the 4,000 Islands, the Plain of Jars, ethnic villages, Nong Khiaw, going up or down the Mekong, Muang Sing, and more depending on mutual interests.
No big treks or long hikes, though we could arrange a day or two if we feel like it.
The itinerary will be planned together without setting anything in stone, so we can stay flexible and follow our moods without wondering every morning what we’ll do that day.
Looking for clean accommodations like guesthouses, with private bathrooms, and fans rather than AC.
Shared rooms are an option.
It would be great to meet beforehand if possible, otherwise via video call.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

At 70 years old but in great shape and a seasoned long-term traveler, I’m looking for a travel companion to join me in Armenia in September or October. The dates aren’t set in stone, but I’d like to book my flight ticket soon (I live in Auvergne, so departure from Lyon)... After that, I’ll continue to Turkey (where I go very often), stopping in Georgia (where I’ve been twice in recent years), before heading back to Southeast Asia at the beginning of January, as I do every year since retiring 10 years ago :-)
Just so you know, I’m not looking for luxury in hotels, guest houses, or Airbnbs—I love street food and get around by bus or taxi using apps available in the country I’m visiting!
... looking forward to hearing from you :-))

Hi! I’m a fit, sporty, dynamic, and enthusiastic woman looking for someone to join me in exploring Georgia, Albania, or Armenia (not all at once 😄). Traveling simply and positively is my style. I’m used to traveling with "strangers," and it’s always gone well, but this time, I don’t have partners for these destinations. Preferably leaving in April, May, or July–September. Thanks!
