Nous envisageons (2 personnes) aller au Kenya dans quelques mois. Je suis à la recherche d'une agence de trek et safari sérieuse à Nairobi

Jusqu'à présent, nous avons toujours fait des treks par l'intermédiaire d' organismes Français.

Ces organismes ne répondent pas actuellement à notre demande car nous désirons passer une semaine dans le Masai Mara ou autre région et séjourner quelques jours à Kisumu, près du Lac Victoria.

Dans 10 jours, nous partons au kenya pour un séjour plage. Nous hésitons à prendre le lariam contre la malaria à cause de ses effets secondaires, du court laps de temps qu'il nous reste avant de partir et parce qu'il n'est pas efficace à 100% Qu'en pensez-vous ? Etes-vous partis là-bas avec ou sans protection?

After 20 days in Uganda, I’m meeting up with my dad for a 3-day safari (that works for him). We’ll be meeting in Nairobi and have a full day to travel to a park (preferably the farthest from Nairobi to avoid crowds?) and spend 4 nights there before heading back to the capital for our flight to France.

I’d love to hear your recommendations since I’ve read so many great tips on this forum.

The itinerary includes: biking at Hell’s Gate, hiking in Aberdare Park, visiting a Maasai village (Maji Moto Village), lakes Naivasha and Nakuru, and the Amboseli, Tsavo East, and Tsavo West parks. Thirty years ago, I traveled to Zanzibar (Tanzania) with my children. Since I’ve since started a new family, I took the opportunity of a trip to Kenya to bring my new family along: my wife, who’s Kenyan, and my 10-year-old daughter. Zanzibar has really changed in 30 years. It’s become the island of taxes. It all starts upon arrival: I think it’s the only country in the world, besides the visa, where Zanzibar insurance (and no other) is mandatory—it costs 40 €. If you didn’t purchase it before arriving, good luck getting it: the IT systems are unreliable. With a bit of luck, it’ll take at least an hour to process! And of course, this insurance is useless—if you get sick, it’s recommended to use your home country’s insurance because if you use Zanzibar’s, your national insurance won’t cover you anymore. I wanted to show my daughter the red colobus monkey, which is endemic to Zanzibar. I paid for a tour that was supposed to be all-inclusive. First, we visited a spice farm, where a farm guide took charge of us—meaning commissions were involved, of course! The tour was very good and informative, though. When we arrived at Jenzhi Park (the colobus park), the guide told us he "forgot" there was an entrance fee (50$). Aware of the system, I decided to book an Ocean Blue tour through the Zanzibar Tourism Office. After two hours of driving, we stopped at a beach—and were left there. No boat was ready to take us. Since my wife speaks Swahili (the language in Zanzibar), after an hour, a captain with his own boat agreed to take us along with his family. Another attempt. The main attraction in Zanzibar (besides the city) is Changuu, the Prison Island. You have to take a motorboat and pay the captain, which is normal. But in Zanzibar, to even get on a boat, you first have to pay a tax! Once we arrived at the island, it started all over again! Thirty years ago, access was free, and the entire island (about 1 km²) was open. Today, there’s a small office, and you have to pay a hefty fee to enter. But enter where? A paved path leads to about 15% of the island—the rest is off-limits. In total, I paid 100 € for my wife, daughter, and myself just to visit a tiny portion of the island! Avoid this! For the rest of our stay, we stayed at a 5-star hotel with golf, horseback riding, tennis courts, evening concerts, etc.—undeniably high-level comfort. One last thing: if you want to rent a car, it’s affordable and useful for exploring the island’s diverse landscapes, but there are speed cameras at every corner on the main roads. The fine is supposedly 100 $, and it’s hard not to get one! I told you: Zanzibar, the land of taxes. I used to think my country, Belgium, was the tax champion—I’ve found something even better!

January 26th marks my first steps in Africa. I usually organize my trips without any assistance. But for Tanzania-Kenya, I need some advice. There will be 4 adults looking for authenticity over a month. How do we visit southern Kenya and northern Tanzania? Do we need guides? A driver-guide? What are the must-see spots? How do we get around? Rent a car? The cost of safaris seems exorbitant—is it justified? Isn’t there a way to do it with a local guide on foot? Can we improvise once we’re there? Once again, I’m back looking for advice

So, here’s the thing: in September, I’m planning a trip to Africa. There’ll be four of us—my husband, my 24-year-old daughter, my 20-year-old son, and me.

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while, but now it’s starting to feel real. The tricky part is that I’m on team "I organize my trip without an agency and handle things on the spot." But here’s the catch—my husband, who’s usually up for anything, doesn’t want to hear about a do-it-yourself trip. From what I’ve gathered, only Namibia allows that if I’m not mistaken. But if it’s possible in Tanzania (or maybe Kenya), I think I could convince him.

Anyway, here’s my first double question—more will probably follow! Can you travel without an agency in Tanzania? If not, which agency would you recommend, given that I live in Belgium?

Le carnet de Christian alias Eiger m'a donné une idée. Pourquoi ne pas moi aussi vous raconter mon premier grand voyage qui remonte à 1992 ? Mon premier safari et la découverte de l'Afrique de l'est à jamais enraciné dans mon cœur avec l'Afrique Australe.

Bon à l'époque je débutais dans la photographie, donc c'est pas spécialement brillant et mot est faible ! Les photos ont été à l'époque directement scannées et transférées sur CD par Kodak.

Il restera ancré à tout jamais dans ma mémoire comme mon premier grand voyage ! Ma grand mère, ma mère me traitent de fou 🤪 Mon père ancien marin dans la marchande qui a fait plus de deux fois le tour du monde, m'encourage 🙂

N'ayant pas l'esprit aventureux de certain, un niveau d'anglais moyen et pas de temps à perdre en recherche d'information sur place, je passe par une agence de voyage qui a toujours pignon sur rue et qui organise des voyages en groupe.

Le voyage durera 23 jours et sur la fin les relations furent un peux compliquées.

Je viens de visiter le site de l'ambassade de Tanzanie en France aprés consultation des guide du routard et lonely planet..J'atteris au kenya ou je passe deux semaiens et je voudrais passer une semaine en Tanzanie..J'ai mon visa pour le Kenya mais comme en cemoment je suis au Maroc jusqu'a fin janvier je n'aurais pas le temps en rentrant de mefair délivrer un visa par l'amùbassade de Tanzanie en France..Alors je voulais savoir s'il était possible d'obtenir un visa à la frontiére entre le Kenya et la Tanzanie lors d'un voyage en bus...Davance merci..ALAIN

Voici notre parcours : Vol direction Dar El Salem visite reserve tarangue en Tanzanie avec 2 nuits Vol pour zanzibar pour quelques jours Volcan Ngorongoro Vol pour Nairobi location. Véhicule sur place Visite réserve Massai Mara 2 nuits Lac Nakuru Kilimanjaro Mombasa visite de la ville et des plages Manoir à girafes

En Tanzanie Y aurait il des choses à ne pas manquer ? Pour les déplacements en Tanzanie est il préférable de louer un véhicule ? Pour aller à Zanzibar il y a til d'autres moyens de transport à moindre coûts que les vols ? Peut on réaliser ce circuit sans guide ?

Bonjour le 15 juillet mes vols dzaoudzi nairobi nairobi dubai n'ont pu avoir lieu en effet la compagnie me previens 2 heures avant que l'avion initialement prévu a été changé par un plus petit que donc kenya airways a privilégié les vols avec correspondance pour terminal paris j'ai donc eu le lendemain un vol de remplacement dzaoudzi tananarive tananarive dubai soit pres de 24 heures aprés a quelle indemnisation ai je droit car nous ne sommes pas dans l'union européenne j'ai aussi perdu des nuits d'hotels va t'on me rembourser cela ou ai je droit à un forfait merci mparkine

Pour commencer je vais me présenter: Anne, 33 ans, passionnée d'Afrique, ayant déjà parcourue seule la Namibie plusieurs fois ainsi que le Kenya. Alors voilà, un peu marre de louer et j'aimerai aller où bon me semble. Sauf que je n'y connais rien en voiture et pas grand chose en 4X4, juste que j'ai conduit un land rover et toyota Hilux. Et donc j'ai pleins de questions.

Est ce trop tôt pour que je m'en offre un ou dois je attendre d'avoir un peu plus parcourue l'Afrique?

A part tente, frigo et de quoi manger... Qu'est ce qui est obligatoire d'avoir? Téléphone satellite? Est ce que vous avez déjà acheté sans voir le 4X4? Comment doit il être équipé? Heureusement je n'ai jamais eu de tuiles, mais si je crève, comment une fille de mon gabarit peut changer une roue?
