Je m appele Vincent et j envisage de faire un tour du monde avec ma cousine. Nous sommes dans les préparatifs et vos remarques (destination, climat...) seront les bien venues. Nous envisageons de partir avec un billet tour du monde pour une période de 10 à 12 mois. Notre budget est de 10000€ chacun.
Les étapes :
Mai 2011 : Mongolie (première difficulté pour arriver à UB en billet tour du monde, faire une étape par Pékin et prendre le transmongolien???) Idée destination pour voyage sac à dos?

Ce forum m'a beaucoup aidé dans la préparation de mes précédents voyages, et maintenant je compte sur vous pour m'aider : Nous partons chaque année, avec mon ami, 3 semaines en voyage "sac a dos". Ce qui nous aimons c'est bouger tous les jours, visiter, découvrir, etc. Nous sommes allé l'année passé en Indonésie et il y a 2 ans en Thailande. Cette année on ne sait pas trop ou aller. On aimerait voir autre chose que l'Asie. On aimerait une destination ou la vie est peu cher (nourriture, logement, etc) et ou on peut facilement se déplacer sans risques pour notre sécutiré (l'asie est super pour cela).
On pensait au mexique ou au senegal.. mais je pense que la vie est plus cher et on pourrait donc moins préfiter. qu'en pensez-vous? Avez vous des idées de destinations?

Paris-Bangkok acheté ce jour à 642 € sur Travelpartner, îles de Thaïlande
Depuis 24 heures, j'ai galéré pour prendre mon billet pour l'Asie du Sud-Est.
Après avoir écumé le Net et testé tous les moteurs de recherche, j'ai dégoté un billet Paris Bangkok, départ 26/12/09 et retour 9/1/10, sur Air China, sur TravelPartner à 642€ TTC.
Pour cette période de fêtes de fin d'année tous les autres sites proposent le plus bas prix à 900 euros au mieux...
C'était la 1ère fois que j'entends parler de cette agence de e-voyage basée en Suède.
Arnaque? En tout cas, j'étais perplexe.
Donc, je lance mon investigation sur la Toile.
Rien sur Google France.
Par contre, Google en Anglais avec mot clé "Travelpartner+Sweden"donne quelques réponses, notamment sur le site d'Amadeus et e-bookers version anglaise.
Les articles sont plutôt rassurants; ils expliquent que les prix plus bas sont liés à une technologie de recherche pemettant de trouver les meilleurs prix. Sur les 12 mois passés, leur CA a grimpé en flèche, suite au succès.
Samedi, 1h du mat', je me lance enfin dans l'achat. Là, mauvaise surprise, au moment de payer le tarif proposé n'était plsu diponible. Il est passé à 1200 euros!
Donc recherche du bon tarif sur plein de destinations, même sur d'autres continents. Hésitation sur le Mexique avec un billet à 900 € vu sur Go Voyages pour les mêmes dates, mais le niveau de vie local est netttement plus élevé qu'en Asie du S-E.
Donc il y a 30 minutes, je retente ma chance sur Travelpartner, et là youpi! J'l'ai eu!
Donc tout ce blabla pour partager un bon plan avec vous. A mon avis il faut faire vite car les prix semblent très volatiles...
Maintenant que j'ai mon (enfin nos billets car je pars avec mon chéri), pourriez-vous me donner en retour des infos et bons plans (transports/hébergements/à voir ou à faire) avec des prix indicatifs concernant les îles suivantes: - Koh Kradan, - Koh Mook - Koh Libong, - Koh Tarutao - Koh Hut - Koh Chiang Parmi celles-ci, lesquelles ont vos préférences? Si vous connaissez d'autres îles paradisiaques sans être grouillantes de touristes, nous sommes preneurs.

Partir au Japon seul en août?

mon employeur vient de très fortement m'inciter à prendre 3 voire 4 semaines de vacances en août. (Je sais, j'ai pas une vie facile 😛) Ca n'arrive pas tous les ans alors je me dis que je pourrais en profiter pour faire un voyage lointain.
Le Japon fait partie de mes envies, mais plusieurs j'ai plusieurs interrogations :
1 - Je lis ça et là qu'août n'est pas la bonne période pour partir là-bas à cause des typhons 🙁 : ça ressemble à quoi des typhons ? De grosses tempêtes ? Ça dure combien de temps en général ? La température et l'humidité sont vraiment insupportables ? ...
2 - Je voyagera très certainement seul (comme je l'ai déjà fait au Mexique et au Pérou) et je ne parle pas japonais : pas de soucis particulier pratique, financier, ... pour voyager en routard ? ...
3 - Je me remets d'un petit accident à une jambe qui fait que les longues marches me sont encore difficiles : les trajets en transports en commun dans le pays sont-ils faciles, nombreux, fréquents, ... ? Pas de randos exceptionnelles que je serai contrait de rater ? ...

PS : une autre de mes idées est carrément à l'opposée : l'Ouest américain (LA, SF, ...). Alors si quelqu'un connait les 2 destinations je suis preneur pour ses avis sur l'une ou l'autre !

Voyager en couple au Pérou
bonjour mon mari et moi souhaiton effectuer un voyage au perou du 7 mars au 18 mars a peu pres nous aimerions savoir si ca reviens cher de partir en couple par nos propre moyens ou vat il mieux profiter d'un voyage organisé!ce qui me gne dans cette formule c'est d'etre trop nombreux et les contraintes moi je prefere profitez des endroits a ma guise .

Comment organiser un voyage d'un mois et demi en Californie?

voilà nous partons à 4 en californie le 2 octobre. nous arrivons à San francisco. Le départ est prévu le 20 novembre de San francisco.
je suis accompagnée de 3 surfeurs à la recherche de la vague parfaite mais nous voulons aussi profiter des environs. nous pensions louer une voiture et se faire un petit trip entre san francisco, los angeles et las vegas.
nous avions penser faire un tout au mexique et aussi au Nicaragua puisque nous avons la possiblité d'être hebergés au nicaragua.
le souci est que nous n'avons aucune idée des distances, du coût de la vie, ...

Trajet Belize City - Tikal (Guatemala)

Nous envisageons de passer 15 JOURS sur le Belize avec une petite virée pour visiter TIKAL. Pour ceux qui ont testé, quelle est la solution la + simple/rapide... bus entre belize city et Tikal ??? (durée, fréquence???) avion entre les 2 (facilité acces entre l'aéroport et le site de Tikal? prix?)
Nous avons meme imaginé un vol Paris -Flores puis retour Belize City afin d'eviter AR entre belize et TiKal...(à ce sujet l aller dure qq 29 heures...)
Bref, un peu flou tt çà...alors si quelqu"un a testé, c'est avec plaisir que je prendrai les infos....
Sinon nous envisageons le voyage fin fevrier/ début Mars 08 (à priori une bonne saison pour quitter notre froid hivernal et retrouver le soleil...)

Roumanie: bons plans et conseils

Je pars en Roumanie avec une copine aux mois de juillet et aout. Nous avons un très petit budget. Nous aimerions donc savoir si vous connaissez des hebergements vraiment pas chers (nous avons pensé à prendre une tente, mais comme nous serons à pieds, on ne sait pas trop finalement...).
Mais surtout on aimerait avoir des idées de trajets, les endroits où il faut absolument passer, les plans rando, les gens à aller voir, les petits villages du transylvanie où on peut faire la fête, les plages de la mer du nord qui valent le coup à cette saison, les endroits où on ne trouvera pas trop de touriste. Bref, on aimerait aller à la rencontre de la roumanie et des roumains, quelqu'un pourrait-il nous guider mieux que les guides que tous les monde achète ?

Costa Rica: future République Dominicaine?
Hola,
Le Costa Rica semble devenir (malheureusement!) la prochaine Republique Dominicaine ? Aux mains des promoteurs qui n'hesitent pas à dénaturer les plages, et bloquer ainsi l'accès à certaines, pour y planter des "condominium" pour touristes gringos. Il suffit de regarder comment se développent Jaco, Tamarindo & Cie... Au train où vont les développements et la soif de $$$ de certains, l'image écologique du Costa Rica ne sera bientot plus qu'une image d'épinal!

je prépare une escale en Floride. 1) j'aurais aimé savoir combien de temps il faut depuis l'aéroport de Miami jusqu'à Key Largo et/ou Keys West avec les transports en commun, bus, taxi, train etc.. (je ne veux pas utiliser l'avion ou une voiture louée) ?
2) j'aimerais savoir quel endroit vous conseillers sur les Keys(key largo, Marathon etc... le "A voir absolument") en sachant que je cherche un endroit avec une eau turquoise, belle plages et ou je peux faire du snorkling et voir (mon rêve) des tortues de mer ?
3) tous ça en arrivant à Miami le samedi et en repartant le vendredi d'après, donc 6jours voir 5 ? donc peux de temps..
4) des conseilles d'hébérgements ou d'itinéraires sont la bienvenues

est ce que le fait de porter moi meme des dreads ne va pas compliquer les choses et vu que nous partons avec peu de moyens est t'il possible de trouver des plans hébergements peu cher, chez l'habitant ou dans des communautés par exemple,
est t'il possible également de dormir a la belle étoile sans trop de risques et de prévoir des bivouacs dans les blues muontains merci a tous clem

USA Road Trip - November 2023
After staying in Aruba in November 2023, we picked up our camper van, which we had left in a hotel parking lot in Miami, Florida.
This isn’t our first road trip across the United States. Since we’re retired, we took the opportunity to travel along the American West Coast, starting with the Everglades in Florida to visit a few parks where we could spot alligators.
We also made a few stops in Mississippi and Texas to explore the most important cities in those states.
Did you know that Austin is home to the world’s largest urban bat colony? It’s truly impressive to see thousands of them take flight at dusk.

USA 2022 Road Trip
During our first road trip across the United States, we covered 23,000 km and crossed 28 states in 53 days.
Originally, we had planned to drive Route 66 all the way to Oatman in Arizona and visit various national parks in the American West over a two-month period.
This itinerary was planned before our departure, and all the relevant information had been gathered to stick to the schedule.
Everything went so smoothly that we finished visiting the national parks well ahead of our planned return date.
It helped that having a bed, a portable toilet, and a cooler in our vehicle gave us some autonomy since we didn’t have to worry about accommodation.
So, we decided to extend our road trip to the cities of Nashville and Memphis in Tennessee.
We then headed to Louisiana to visit Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
We crossed Mississippi and Alabama before driving along Florida’s west coast all the way to Key West.
We returned via Florida’s east coast and then crossed the eastern U.S. states to get back to Quebec through the Jackman border crossing in Maine.

Originally, we had planned to drive Route 66 all the way to Oatman in Arizona and visit various national parks in the American West over a two-month period.
This itinerary was planned before our departure, and all the relevant information had been gathered to stick to the schedule.
Everything went so smoothly that we finished visiting the national parks well ahead of our planned return date.
It helped that having a bed, a portable toilet, and a cooler in our vehicle gave us some autonomy since we didn’t have to worry about accommodation.
So, we decided to extend our road trip to the cities of Nashville and Memphis in Tennessee.
We then headed to Louisiana to visit Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
We crossed Mississippi and Alabama before driving along Florida’s west coast all the way to Key West.
We returned via Florida’s east coast and then crossed the eastern U.S. states to get back to Quebec through the Jackman border crossing in Maine.

Questions for a family road trip in a camper van in Quebec

We’re planning a 3-week camper van road trip in August 2026 with our two kids (5 years old and 14 months).
I’m looking for feedback from families who’ve explored Quebec in a camper van—specifically, whether it’s more budget-friendly than renting a car/hotel/restaurants.
The itinerary is still being planned, but it’ll likely follow the classic loop: Montreal / Mauricie / Quebec City / Tadoussac / Saguenay / Lac Saint-Jean / Gaspésie / Montreal.
With the camper van, I’ve got a few questions:
Can you rent a camper van and pick it up/drop it off in Montreal? What budget should we set aside for renting the RV + campsites? Are there free spots where we can sleep in the camper van? Without using official campsites. Are there other rental companies besides the two main ones (Canadream and Cruise America)?

3-Week Texas Itinerary - Fall 2025

After several trips to the American West, we’ve booked our next tickets to Texas!!! We’ll be leaving in mid-October and arriving in Dallas.
After reading several forums/blogs about Texas, I sketched out what our road trip might look like. But here’s the thing—big snag on Day 13!!!
Could you please help me with this plan? Let me know if my draft seems doable or if, on the contrary, the timing is too tight, if I’ve missed any important spots, etc.
We’re traveling as a family with our little ones (3 and 9 years old). We’re not big fans of big cities—we prefer hitting the road, doing hikes, driving on backroads, and we’d love to spend Halloween in a small, friendly town to really experience it.
Here’s my itinerary:

My husband, though, would love to take a detour to Lafayette, stopping in Houston to visit the Space Center.

So many silent months, and now Voyage Forum is accessible again. That’s cool because we can pick up our discussions for our mutual enjoyment.
I hope everyone is doing well and that you’ve been able to take some great trips, whether to the USA or elsewhere.
In September 2020, we had planned a round trip to explore Colorado, but unfortunately, a nasty virus messed up our plans, closing borders and keeping us stuck at home. Luckily for us, canceling the car, flights, and accommodations didn’t cost us a thing—everything was refunded.
In 2023, a loop from Las Vegas let us revisit places we’d seen in 2017 and discover new ones, this time spending more time at each stop with some lovely hikes.
In 2024, we finally revisited the 2020 plan, and I’ll start with that.
However, unforeseen circumstances mean I have much less time than before, so I’ll keep my trip reports shorter (ha ha ha—you’ll have less of my prose to endure).
Another change: for those who remember the "Gang of Four crazy sixty-somethings," it was just DD and me this time. Our dear Mimi and Maumau left the Var to focus on raising horses and can’t leave their little green paradise to join us anymore. We were unfortunately much tamer without them.

We speak very little English. We spent 21 nights there and covered a 3,400 km loop by car and 160 km on foot (we’re still trying to hike while we’re in shape) from Denver in September 2024. We wanted this road trip to help us explore Colorado a bit more—we’d only spent 6 nights there in 2019—and to see it during the fall foliage season. We also wanted to return to Utah (we love Moab) to enjoy its red rocks, which we adore.
In the prices you see (some in euros, others in dollars), I’ve included bank fees and exchange charges. The flights, car, and parking were paid by credit card when we booked in February. Usually, we book around November, but some obligations kept us from doing it earlier. We downloaded the MPC (Mobile Passport Control) app on our phone, which saved us time at immigration.

📊 **Accommodation: 3,050 €** We stayed in motels and hotels of various ranges (from 100 € to 270 € per night, depending on the city), all booked through Hotels.com or Booking. Booking sometimes offers cheaper rates if you book via the "Booking mobile" app. We also got some preferential rates thanks to our Genius 2 status. Out of 21 nights, only one place didn’t include breakfast.

😞😞 **Flops (there are very few!)** 📍 The viewpoints we missed because they weren’t well-marked or we didn’t see the signs 📍 The closure of some hiking trails (Hanging Lake and parts of Canyonlands) and the Sal Mountain Loop road, which kept us from accessing it 📍😢 The Chesler Park hike we had to cut short due to poor time management—180 km between our stop in Cortez meant we didn’t arrive until 10:30 AM, way too late for a 17 km hike.

We speak very little English. We spent 21 nights there and covered a 3,400 km loop by car and 160 km on foot (we’re still trying to hike while we’re in shape) from Denver in September 2024. We wanted this road trip to help us explore Colorado a bit more—we’d only spent 6 nights there in 2019—and to see it during the fall foliage season. We also wanted to return to Utah (we love Moab) to enjoy its red rocks, which we adore.
In the prices you see (some in euros, others in dollars), I’ve included bank fees and exchange charges. The flights, car, and parking were paid by credit card when we booked in February. Usually, we book around November, but some obligations kept us from doing it earlier. We downloaded the MPC (Mobile Passport Control) app on our phone, which saved us time at immigration.

📊 **Car: Nissan Rogue (the French X-Trail) from Hertz: 1,165 €** By booking through Air France (and earning miles), we got a 15% discount. Hertz offers a free Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program, which gives us priority counter service.
📊 **Accommodation: 3,050 €** We stayed in motels and hotels of various ranges (from 100 € to 270 € per night, depending on the city), all booked through Hotels.com or Booking. Booking sometimes offers cheaper rates if you book via the "Booking mobile" app. We also got some preferential rates thanks to our Genius 2 status. Out of 21 nights, only one place didn’t include breakfast.
📊 **Other expenses (activities booked by credit card before leaving)** Durango-Silverton train: 210 € (we booked the enclosed vintage coach in March) Mesa Verde: Balcony House: 15.15 € (booked 14 days before the visit) Timed-entry passes for Arches National Park: 6 € for 3 days (booked June 1 for September entries via http://récreation.gov/). We booked three different days to play with the weather.
📊 **Supplementary insurance with AVA: 204 €** (due to our age 😅 and the high cost of medical consultations in the USA)
📊 **Cash: 1,540 €** We left with 1,000 € exchanged before departure and made two withdrawals (500 $ and 200 $). This cash was used to pay for: - Evening restaurants and tips (between 70 $ and 95 $ for two meals and two drinks) - Two state parks: Dead Horse State Park (20 $) and Rifle State Park (10 $) - The Monarch Pass gondola (24 $) - Midday picnics - Gas (slightly cheaper with cash): 204 $ for 3,400 km - Personal souvenirs and little treats.
