Bonjour tous.... Je reviens depuis peu des Emirats Arabes Unis... (à Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain)

Je suis littéralement tombé amoureux de ces petits Emirats et j'aimerais en découvrir d'autres dans la région...comme par exemple Koweit, Qatar ou Barhein. Cependant j'aurais besoin d'informations à savoir les us et coutumes de ces pays et si les occidentaux sont les bienvenus, j'entend par là quel est leur degré d'ouverture à l'étranger.

De plus pourriez vous me dire pour ceux qui connaissent s'il y a des choses interressantes à y visiter... On m'a parlé de l'Arabie Saoudite où les étrangers sont un peu mis à l'écart dans leurs villages-oasis coupés de la civilisation...Ca ne me branche pas du tout.... Alors si vous connaissez un de ces pays, aidez moi à faire pencher ma balance vers ceux-ci...

Bonjour, j'ai posé une question similaire sur ce même forum, il y a quelques semaines, et je reviens aujourd'hui à la charge, avec un tout petit peu plus de précisions. Tout d'abord, mon projet : Il s'agit de partir en novembre prochain de Madagascar(*), puis d'aller dans les pays suivants : les Comores(*), la Tanzanie(*), le Kenya(*), l'Ethiopie(*), Djibouti(*). Le Yemen, Oman(*), l'Iran, le Turkmenistan(*), l'Ouzbekistan, le Kazakhstan(*), la Chine (Xinjiang)(*), le Kirghyzstan, re-Ouzbekistan (vol Tashkent -> Delhi) L'Inde(*), le Népal, le Tibet(*), le Myanmar(*), le Laos, le Viet-Nâm(*), le Cambodge, la Thaïlande, la Malaisie(*), l'Indonésie(*). L'Australie, la Nouvelle-Zélande(*), les Iles Cook, Polynésie française, l'Île de Pâques, Chili, Argentine, Uruguay, Brésil, Paraguay, Bolivie, Pérou, Equateur. Panama, Costa-Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Salvador, Guatémala, Mexique, Cuba, USA, Canada.

Quelques liaisons aériennes (une dizaine), mais pas de billet open. Pour deux raisons : leur validité qui semble ne jamais dépasser un an (or j'estime être sur la route pendant deux ans et demie, voire plus, et surtout l'envie de ne pas me presser, de rester longtemps qq part si je me plais, filer si je souhaite aller voir plus loin. Je me déplace seul, en stop ou bus, avec sac-à-dos et tente. Je suis citoyen français.

Problème : parmis tous les pays cités plus haut, ceux ornés d'un astérisque (donc surtout en Afrique et en Asie) semblent exiger un billet d'avion retour ou de continuation pour délivrer un visa. Je n'en aurai pas, pour les raisons expliquées plus haut. Quels conseils me donneriez-vous ? Avoir suffisamment d'espèces sur soi (je pars avec une visa, des travelers, qqs dollars et me fais envoyer des mandats dans certaines postes) ? Un relevé de banque ? Ou alors j'achète à l'avance un billet Tashkent -> Delhi, et je le montre en Ethiopie ? (ça marche ça ? je n'aime pas cette solution...).

La solution est-elle de parlementer des heures avec les douaniers ou les employés des consulats ? De graisser qqs pattes (ce qui me déplaît fortement dans le principe) ?

😊D'habitude avec mon homme on part avec le sac à dos en Asie ou en Amérique du Sud, mais je n'ai pas tellement d'idées d'endroit où aller vu qu'en Aout je serais enceinte de 4 mois.

J'aimerais éviter tous les risques de palu, et toutes les infections par l'eau (hépatites, amibes...) et pourtant j'aimerais voyager hors d'Europe avec un minimum d'aventure. J'avais pensé au Magreb mais j'ai peur qu'il fasse vraiment trop chaud en Aout...

Est ce que vous auriez des idées ??????

Je compte partie en Inde cet été et les prix les plus intéressants que j'ai trouvés sont avec GULF AIR avec escale soit à Bahrein ou à Muscat.

Je voudras savoir si il y a déjà quelqu'un qui a voyagé avec cette compagnie et ce qu'il en pensait.

Eventuellement l'escale qui parrait la plus intéressante...

Voila, j'aimerais partir étudier la langue arabe et découvrir la culture locale dans un pays du Golfe (Emirats Arabe unis, Koweit...) ou au Yémen.

Si vous avez des informations sur les démarches à faire, les universités dans ces pays, etc.. elles seront les bienvenues.

je projette de me rendre en ethiopie et au yemen en aout et septembre 2004, mais je me pose quelques questions en ce quiconcerne le mer rouge. Il est apparamment possible de la traverser entre Djibouti et Aden mais j'ai entendu dire que c'est plutôt risqué.

Si quelqu'un pouvais me dire ce qu'il en est réellement ou a tout autre conseil, je suis preneur.

En faisant le hit parade du Forum, je crois que la Syrie gagne. Mais il faut un visa pour la Syrie ( en 2 semaines, pas facile depuis le Guatemala)

Le yemen, va tres fort aussi : la, on parle carrement de visa a travers une agence ...

Est il possible d aller au Liban ( Visa a l airport) et de la, passer en Syrie ?

Quand j'ai reservé le sejour chez Marsans on ma dit qu'on voyagerait avec CORSAIR, et aujourd'hui 4 jours avant le départ je recois un email qui m'indique que l'avion Corsair est affreté via AIR PLUS COMET!!! j'ai fais pas mal de recherches sur interent sur cette compagnie est c'est vraiment catastrophique. L'age moyen de la flotte est de 17 ans!! (contre 4 ans pour Star airlines et 13 ans Corsair, 7 ans pour Aeroflot!). Air plus comet possede 3 Airbus A300/330 celui pour la Rep. dominicaine a été mis en circulation en 1988!! et il est passé par plusieurs compagnie (Pan am, Delta, Oman Air, Bal air, Air Plus Argentina). Cette compagnie a eu un accident à Orly le 10 janvier 04 (avion qui arrivait du Brésil), l'avion est sorti de piste à l'atterissage, à l'aller le meme avion avait eu un probleme de fuite de kerosene!!.Je ne parle meme pas des temoignages sur les forums étrangers de gens qui se plaignent d'avions vetustes et de nombreux problemes techniques.

Avec le drame de Flash airline c'est inadmissible qu' une agence comme MArsans et NF fasse voyager les gens dans des avions poubelles!! c'est scandaleux de cacher aux gens la vraie compagnie, je pense que la grande majorités de gens n'auraient meme pas reservé s'ils auraient su que c'était Air plus Comet.

Que faire? est ce qu'il y a un recours contre l'agence de voyage?

On m a dit qu il etait impossible de rentrer au Liban avec un vehicule diesel quelque soit son age, ainsi qu avec une voiture essence de + de 5 ans .Avez vous des infos a ce sujet ainsi que sur le montant des taxes a payer pour la voiture essence .

I’ve been looking for a destination for a 2-week trip early next spring, and Cape Verde has been growing on me. (The flight isn’t too long, the temperatures are more than pleasant, and it’s an unknown country for me.)

The thing is, Cape Verde is pretty complicated when it comes to inter-island transfers, and I don’t want to spend my time in airports or on ferries—especially since those transfers aren’t exactly known for their reliability...

So, I’d like to limit internal flights to just 2, meaning the island I arrive on plus one other.

I’ve ruled out the all-inclusive islands: Sal and Boa Vista.

I’m torn between combining Santo Antão + São Vicente or Fogo + Santiago.

The goal of the trip is to see beautiful landscapes, go on day hikes (nothing multi-day), swim a little—though I prefer quiet spots—and enjoy 1 or 2 days in a city, but not much more than that!

In your opinion, which option would be the best, and why?

Water is present almost everywhere on our blue planet, so I’ve narrowed the theme down to waterways—rivers, streams, brooks, and the like.



Seas, oceans, lakes, or other stagnant waters won’t be considered for this month’s theme 😅. However, waterfalls and cascades are very welcome 😊!



Practical details:

**Participation** Each VF member can submit up to 3 photos, until Sunday, January 25th at 11:59 PM Paris time. Each photo must be posted in a separate message, with its number (1, 2, or 3). Don’t forget to add a little explanation (commentary, location, etc.).

struggling to find a decent flight to Thailand?????

Hi everyone, I’ve been traveling in Asia for over 30 years, often to Thailand, but only during the school holidays in February, April, and especially in the summer, departing from Marseille or Lyon.

For some time now, I’ve noticed it’s really hard to find a flight at a reasonable price (under 900 €) and, more importantly, with a decent itinerary (we’re often offered 2 or 3 layovers with total travel times of 40 or even 50 hours), and this is the case almost a year in advance. This is something we never saw even 4 years ago—I’m wondering: are there fewer flights available now...?

If you take the bus from Bangkok Ekkamai to Pattaya, foreigners will be asked to pay an extra 20k for checked baggage, even though it’s already been paid for and listed on the ticket. They don’t even weigh it—a woman just demands you pay again, and if you refuse, she goes to get security colleagues who yell at you and threaten not to let you board. We later found out at the hotel that this is a well-known organized scam. The company is ROONG REUANG COACH, and we were about fifteen people—all foreign tourists—in the same situation. For Thai passengers, they didn’t ask for anything.

Then in Pattaya, violence and corruption rule. The next day, we learned the city is classified as "scarlet" (high-risk). A hotel guest was attacked with a knife by four Thais on a scooter—they stole his bag with his bank card and cash inside, luckily not his passport. A large hotel near ours was just shut down administratively for pedophilia. On Apple Maps, many reviews warn about how dangerous the city is. I’ve been coming to Thailand regularly for over 30 years, but I barely recognize the country since COVID. The "Land of Smiles" is turning into the "Land of Scowls," and a form of racism is emerging. For us, this will be the last time—next stop, Vietnam, and even China, which pleasantly surprised us.

Finally, China and the U.S. are advising their citizens against traveling to Thailand due to violence. Right now, most tourists here are Indians and Russians—together, they make up the majority—along with some from the Gulf (Qatar, Dubai, Oman).
